Why did I purchase the Prestone Flush & Fill kit? This video linked from the back of the package doesn't even refer to it!

After repeated water rinses, the water is not clean. That is why I bought the flush 'n fill kit

Most of this demo was about wearing protective gear. To be extra safe, be sure to wear plenty of the proper sunblock and always wear a cap to protect you from bright sunlight that might hurt your eyes. Then it's recommended that you get a complete physical at your family doctor. Don't touch any loose fluids after cleaning your radiator as it might contain dangerous radioactive elements. Prestone, maybe if you guys omitted some of this dribble, maybe the video wouldn't have cut off like that.

Why on the bottle it says to run it for three days with the flush liquid in it
That's for a deep clean. The bottle also says you can just run the engine for only 15 minutes.
Does "redrain" mean to FILL it? 🤷
I did the flushing ,but i forgot to put the water and run it for one more time after i drained the radiator with coolant flush.
And just filled it with coolant and water, Is it ok for my car? it won't be any harm to my radiator ?
I couldn't find an answer to this myself so far. I've thought of just adding flush into my coolant, what is the big deal?
@@craftpaint1644 You should get an antifreeze mix tester to make sure you're at 50/50 ratio so that it doesn't freeze over the winter. If you flushed with water it there's on way to really know what ratio you have otherwise.
Hows your car runnining?
The flush contains sodium citrate. If you emptied most of it out, a small amount left won't be an issue. It's a buffered weak acid, sodium salt, which is very similar to the stabilizer in the antifreeze itself.

in extreme hot states likes texas, florida, the concentration will be 50/50 or 70/30??

The back, of the antifreeze concentrate bottle normally has a temp chart but 50/50 would probably be fine.
70/30 is probably more for the extreme cold not the hot end of the spectrum

@@ApartmentKing66 I believe I meant the back the the antifreeze bottle. Normally the concentrated ones have a chart on them telling you to mix them for what temperatures.
As for why I wrote it like that not a clue it was forever ago I probably meant to add a colon.
Lol dont ever use a garden hose who knows what's inside that. Get distilled water come on prestone.
If you have lots of corrosion debris in your system your not going to get much out by simply pouring in water and draining it. I bet I used 50 gallons of water to flush mine, along with running the engine briefly a handful of times and blowing compressed air into the system before the debris coming out of the block drain plugs was minimal.
What do I do with the used flush fluid?
Take it to an auto parts store. Most of them recycle used oil and coolant. Maybe call them first...
Assuming you got all / most of the antifreeze drained first, you can pour the flush fluid down the toilet. It's going to be mostly water and the flush fluid is non hazardous.
Can I take off the thermostat and then flush from beginning and before I fill with new antifreeze put it back on?
Yes, you can, but if you're going to go through the trouble of taking out the thermostat, replace it with a new one.

will Prestone good for My Hyundai Veracruz 2007 ?
So I mixed antifreeze for 30 years, the 50/50mix ratio is a lie!! I have checked against multiple testers and at best it’s -20. Guess the manufacturer wants to make an extra dollar. To be safe mix 70/30 if you don’t have a tester it might not freeze on you.
