Thanks for all this useful information. I recently replaced the heads and radiator (and thermostat) on my 91 Toyota pickup, and now the temperature is rising much higher than before on longer drives (almost to the red). With the bad head gasket, both coolant and oil were contaminated pretty badly by each other. So I am now thinking the cooling system may need a very good flushing 🚽.
I am going to employ your flushing recommendations and cross my fingers!! 😅 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I am a big fan of using CLR radiator flush . You put it in let it set few hours and all that crap comes out.

That's something I love about UA-cam, I never heard of CLR pro radiator flush before. I just searched for it there. I heard and have used regular CLR but that's corrosive and can't be used on automotive radiators.
      I appreciate your input 🙌🙏🙏

Can you use a jet washer to flush out the crap?

No I wouldn't recommend that unless you can be certain of controling the pressure. These guns are designed for this job and when hoses are removed you can use the variable trigger lightly and then increase pressure and flow improves.
They seal nice and tightly as well which makes a difference.
      Blast on Blast off 😉😁

I use a normal hose with a garden hose gun for £10 works fine

Thanks Gerard. Oz treating you ok? Sounds like a very messy business. I have a 62 Falcon that I need to flush the block - you reckon I could be successful? What additive (if any) to use to get rid of any rust in the cooling passages?

      Hello 😊
Oz is treating me well and things are going good thanks 🙌🙌
Definitely worth a shot on your Falcon, rust throughout would need to be left to soak first then flush through most likely. I have done some reading on the CLR pro radiator flush. It's available over here and I have used the standard CLR for household jobs and found that product good.
Another comment mentioned it and it could well be a very good option for you 🤔
My alternatives are not sold here and so they would have to be bought online from overseas.
