I've been using this funnel on all of my vehicles for decades on almost all of my vehicles. It works! It comes in a kit with different adapters for different reservoirs and radiators., but they aren't compatible with a few of them. Instead of flushing, I drain & fill @ 30K mile intervals which keeps my coolant relatively fresh on my Honda cars & SUV's. I can remove the reservoir fill cap while leaving the radiator cap closed and drain the radiator. This pulls the coolant out of the reservoir. Then I proceed after filling the reservoir, replacing the cap and using the funnel in the radiator. Very easy to do.
I appreciate that you actually compensated for the water already in the system and made the adjustment in your concentration. I've seen a lot of know-it-all youtubers not do that and just pour 50/50 in there. In my old 1st gen RAV it's super easy because the entire coolant capacity is 8 liters/ 2.11 gallons so after flushing with water, I can pour a gallon of concentrated antifreeze in directly and top off the rest with water and it'll be almost 50/50 automatically which in in the south is plenty.
I wish you had posted this a week earlier! I just flushed my Tacoma and got to do it 3 times because I didn't properly drain it the first 2 times. You are the first UA-cam tutorial that I could find that properly demonstrates to drain from not just the radiator, but the 2 block drains as well. Nice to see a lady working on cars. As a tech for 12 yrs. Rarely seen. In the shop at lexus we used to flush the system with a hose in 1 pipe, and a hose to drain. run till clear. Not fill, and drain a bunch. The amount of water dilutes the coolant in drain to well within legal levels. Great note on the bleeders. Some cars don't bleed out properly without them no matter what. I last thing. That is the only coolant fill anyone should use. That funnel is a god send. I have 2!

Only because it doesn't get driven but a few times a month. My dealer tried to convince me the coolant was still good-lol I declined and had them change it out. Now I'll be changing it every 2 years. :)

The original starter lasted until about 240k and the original alternator lasted to about 260k miles. Even the original rear brake shoes lasted until 300k miles. It has never let me down. Traveled a lot around the Western Region of the US. I live in the SF Bay Area.
I’m at 180k on my 2000 4Runner Limited. Got in my divorce and plan to drive it till the wheels fall off!
I have that engine in my taco. 197k barely broken in.
Those funnels are awesome! My retired mechanic friend lent me his 2 years ago and I use it all the time! Luckily he hasn't asked for it back yet. 🤫
😂🤣he ordered a new one as soon as he lent it out
Hi Faye, great thorough video, i work in a Toyota dealer and we haven't got time to do such a thorough job, quick drain and refill the radiator. Customers would never pay hours and hours at $100 an hour. Cheers Rob from England
That's what they had me do at my Toyota dealer too. Didn't seem right.
The way this girl make this mechanic videos is really amazing!
I have finally found the alpha and omega! The female version of CHRISFIX! They said she didn’t exist, they said I was woowoo, but I knew🤣🤣😂😂😆😆 all jokes aside, ms. Faye Hadley, you are one badass mechanic, and so detailed. Keep it up!👍good to see female mechanics
THANK YOU!! ! :))
Wow best coolant flush video I've seen! I'm definitely going to pick up one of those funnels. That's a great idea, never seen a funnel like that before.
Thank you so much!!
Simply amazing lecture on the subject of V6 5VFE coolant change.
Thank you for making it really fun.
Thank you very much!
Faye is an awesome mech! Love the enthusiasm! I'm about to flush my gen 2 toy so decided to see how she'd do a coolant flush. What I didn't know is that she was doing it on a gen 2 toy! Search complete! Thanks Faye.
Thanks Faye, video was very descriptive and I love the energy!
You need a helluva lot more subs than you have currently. I've used your videos for actual use a couple of times now and Im happy to have been able to not so much save money, but moreso that I think everyone feels better about themselves when they can do these things on their own.
I agree! Thank you!!
I like the way she calls a petcock a draincock.. Something stimulating about it!
😂😂😂 that's what it's called in my Toyota books!!
Yeah, I was trying to catch what she was saying myself... I'm not calling it that... not happening for me.
You are fantastic and very professional. Great work. Thanks for the content. 👍🏻
Between you and Carcarenut I have learned a lot about my Toyotas great content!
I have 2!
Thorough, ultra-detailed how to. Very nicely done
Cheers!
Super helpful video! I never bothered draining the block before in previous coolant drains, but this time I’m going to do it. Thank you for pointing out the location of them on the four-cylinder engines.
The new generation of Scotty Kilmer
OMG. You are soo sweet! I love the name that you gave the coolant drain valve on the bottom of the radiator.
Excellent old video. Always doin it right and givin all the great tips to make it easier!! Appreciate your videos Faye!!
God bless~
Love her channel. Reminds me of someone you'd see out of a Borderlands/Rage game or similar. Great personality and very helpful. Thank you this is a no-brainer insta sub for me.
Wow, thank you!
@@FayeHadley yes, no brainer to sub, u really rock..wow. so sharp and fast, efficient. Far faster than most, which can paradoxically help often, bcuz the overall gist is easier to absorb when complicated steps dn't take too long to listen to.
Thanks Faye, this video was informative and to the point! Keep making them!
This is informative in so many ways.... Fanfreakintastic! Thank you Faye 👍🏽
Thank you!!!
I had an '87 Toyota Corrola, and it loved having 100% of the red Toyota coolant. It made it to 260,000 miles on the original water pump. It never got hot on me.
I had a 98 4Runner here Japan land, had it for about 14 years. I don't even remember what stock coolant was in there when it was new. Near the end, I just ran green Prestone and changed it every 2 years. Never had a problem with it. Now in my 2015 Hiace, I just went 8 years with the stock LLC in it. Only because it doesn't get driven but a few times a month.
My dealer tried to convince me the coolant was still good-lol I declined and had them change it out. Now I'll be changing it every 2 years. :)
Texas may be huge...however Alaska is larger than California, Montana and Texas combined!!!
You'd make a great teacher Faye!
😊
faye ....I think im in love
Man this chic is awesome! I just stumbled across your channel as I just picked up a 2007 FJ cruiser and learning how to do the basic servicing at home to save a buck! Just knocked out the spark plug change and now want to do a trans drain and fill and coolant exchange! Thank you for your content and how to vids.
There was a lady mechanic at Martinsville Indiana Ford.... (Nita) she was their 6.0L diesel guru.... you guys looked totally alike! LOL she went to lunch one day, decided she had all she wanted, came back for her tools and took over a transit bus fleet...
