It's a brave soul that takes on any Rush track, there are no two songs in which the drumming is similar to any other, The Professor would not allow himself that luxury. Well done, Brooke, your drums are tuned perfectly, there are way too many "drummers" that overlook that important detail, and your expertise shines on this one. Neil would give you one of his rare smiles on hearing you play. RIP Neil Elwood Peart.
The notion that the drum tracks on Rush songs are not similar is not accurate. The grove Peart played during the Keyboard solos in Subdivisions is exactly the same grove he plays in the interludes in The Spirit of the Radio. He also begins many tom runs with a triplet before running down the toms. He also does some off beat accents on cymbals while playing a groove where he hits a different part of the kit on the beat. In subdivisions, both of the pieces he engages are cymbals. In The spirit of the radio he does this in the hook playing the cymbal on the off beat and a floor tom on the beat. Don't get me wrong, I think he was a master at crafting drum parts and I'm a big fan of his work. I am in the process of learning 3 Rush songs off the transcriptions. That's how I know there are similarities. @@zwastiunburzy3688
What sets you apart from most others is you hit all the ghost notes on the snare. I don't think people know how many extra notes that Neil is hitting in most songs.
Brilliant job Brooke. Subdivisions is a show of strength for many drummers, very intricate, played it myself many times- took me ages to pat down. Peart gone but never forgotten, the best for the discerning..........
The acoustics in that room, the drum tuning, the audio balance and EQ amongst all the percussion, and of course your playing, is absolute heaven to my ears.
Excellent point. Peart was absolutely ridiculous. I feel as though he often put way too much into his writings and I also feel they were always just amazing in just about every way!!
Definitely not there were many missed notes and many extra notes and the ride pattern wasn’t in a 6/4. Not even hating at all. I just know every corner of this song
So many copy Peart technically, you somehow managed to get his feel with the technical side. Very nice. I was going to listen for 10 sec max but I was immediately struck by the great pocket and feel you have. Bravo!
Brooke you are a very talented drummer! 🔥🥁🤘I've been following you for several years and it's always a great pleasure to see your precision in playing combined with fluency, complex pieces make them stand out in all their musical magic... you can see and hear every stroke you make in your skill. You Deserve a Great Group to Play! I wish you the best on the music scene, you deserve it! Thanks for the covers you always play for us! one of your European followers kindly🤘👍
Sometimes drummers miss how important the hi-hat is in pretty much everything Neil ever played. I've listened to this song hundreds of times since it first came out, and many of those times only tuned in on the hi-hat and snare. I must say, you really did the hi-hat justice! "Pratt" would be proud. As for me, this was an impressive cover. Well done.
@@mattdelany6799 are you serious? Never can get enough of listening to you little sister! I say that because we’ve been watching you since you was a kid ! you are such a joy and such a sweet solid human being and very talented and you play drums beautifully, keep rocking little sister we got your back always💝
That was incredible! 😮 As a 60 year old who’s been a Rush fan from my mid teens, I’d given up hope of ever seeing a young person being able to play like this. I hope you’re in a band that allows you full use of your amazing talent.
Tight measure. Great feel. (Sensitivity). Great swing (groove). Buttery fills. Hi hat? Ride bell? Easy work. Your own spice here and there (intentionally). Yeah, bet this right up. If I were Mr. Peart, I'd literally be honored and smiling. Yup.

Excellent. Loved the tuning of the drums and how the whole kit was mixed. Fantastic performance as well. I expected to be impressed and I was not disappointed.
Another song from rush that is timeless, you done very well with it Brook, Neil Peart would give you a big thumbs up for execution playing he’s not an easy drummer in his technique very complexed and amazingly creative talent truly one of the all time great legendary drummers great job Brook and Rock On 🤘✌️
@timothymartin2137 At 56 now I know how that goes all too well. But Signals was my intro when my friend introduced me to Rush on his Alpine stereo Oct 82. But ask me where I set my car keys a hour ago. Don't know lol
Many drummers who cover this look like they are struggling and you look so darn relaxed. I agree with many here who say your kit sounds great. Keep up the excellent work.
From one Drummer to another great job on nailing Subdivisions, definitely not one of the easier Rush songs to play, I wore out my vinyl copy of Subdivisions learning this track back in 1982 (yep I'm old), my cover band had an upcoming gig and this was one of the songs in our set list, challenging to say the least, and BTW love your take on utilizing Gravity Blasts on the snare, not professor approved LOL but he would be proud of you. Keep up the continued great drumming, and practice, practice, practice...
That was fantastic. Many people who cover The Professor may hit the all the notes but they don't have the sound. Brooke C hits the notes and with the power

Awesome job. The hi-hat/snare fill after the 2nd “be cast out” lyric has got to be one of the coolest things ever in this song. Its done a few times throughout it and U nailed it every time. Great Job!

To be able to play this so perfectly and with only half of Neil's kit is a testament to Brooke's overwhelming talent. Awesome work!
Great cover. It just shows us that you don't need a 20 piece drum kit to get the job done.
Picking a technical genius like Neil Peart is a bold choice, nailed it 👌
