Well said I'm not even in the double digits when it came to Rush concerts but seeing and hearing the great drummer Neil was an honor in itself. My thinking during their early work was no one can ever come to achieve what he's done as far as Rush songs go. But I've been wrong before. She's excellent.

How on earth can you give this a dislike. I’ve been playing for 45 years and this girl is great at coping a drummer who was the best in his time. People need to get a life.
I will try not to be a keyboard critic as I have never drummed before. However, I am a super loyal RUSH fan and of our late and beloved Neil Peart. Yes, she did an excellent job in recreating the odd rhythms and unique metronome like mental tempo that Neil had. However, this was accomplished at great level of stress and excessive activity on such a small drum set in order to recreate Neil's percussion performance. When you close your eyes and listen to her performance, yes, it does sound good, but when you open your eyes, she's like she's excessively overworking herself and struggling to knock out the beats. She was very stiff and too sharp with her beats. In Neil's later years, he said that when he was studying from his mentor, who told him that every beat was a circle and it has to rotate the stick towards him, strike the drum and complete the circle in midair, the drummer. She has to let it flow and let it just take her through the song. Suburbs is one of Neil's less busy songs but nonetheless, it is complex when you have your earphones on and eyes closed listening to what is being brought to your ears. I am not criticizing her performance. I am merely repeating the words of Neil Peart in his interview. Go look it up in UA-cam.

Vocals are incre-d_ible. It’s all so great. I couldn’t believe it when I first saw. Makes me want to go watch it again now
I’m confused about how you write that any decent drummer...etc...makes it harder...technique...? Maybe specify your feedback ? The one thing I was thinking about is this drummer could choke up on the sticks more...(fulcrum) leverage a little low by the hilt. Other than that, this a difficult song to nail the dynamics. (Ok,bass drum could’ve been a tiny more aggressive\matching) Cmon she nailed it! 🙂
@@HAKKY2112 - again, not a hard song for any journeyman drummer as dynamics should be an important part of your musical vocabulary. As far as making it harder, look at the section that begins @ 0:29 where she's jumping her right hand from the hi-hat to the ride bell AND hitting the back beats on the snare. Totally unnecessary. Start with the right hand on the ride on the one, hitting the bell on the "and" and use the left hand to fill in the rest of the notes on the hi-hat and hit the back beats. Her snare sound is suffering because she's reaching too far and trying to do too much with her right hand. If this was a real take in a recording situation, no engineer/producer is going to let that slide. You HAVE to nail the back beats and do it with consistency. That's just one instance of a few throughout this track.
Agreed, same here. Funny... it also made me appreciate what an AWESOME mom I had. She survived this phase... all the way thru my death metal & industrial metal days

I could watch this all day. Awesome. MORE Rush please.🤘🤘🤘🤘
You should watch the cover by Astrotama... it's perfect
Well yes, astrotama has been a beast for some time now. And then there is tyler warren.....if you have seen. Tyler warren plays ALL INSTRUMENTS. ALL of PErmanent Waves and more. Vocals are incre-d_ible. It’s all so great. I couldn’t believe it when I first saw. Makes me want to go watch it again now
I have a new appreciation for drummers! Kudos to the young lady
If we had UA-cam when I was in high school, we would be doing these same covers. CLASSIC music never fades. Great Job.
Revisiting this after a year. Using this as training to learn this. Thank you chiara! I hope you're safe!
Rush gives me happy feelings. Super talented people covering Rush gives me happier feelings......:o).
SO HARD TO DO what you have learned to do and make it look seamless...I enjoyed it..Thanks
not really, this is a pretty easy song for any decent drummer, and I'd say she's making it harder than it needs to be with bad technique in spots.
(Ok,bass drum could’ve been a tiny more aggressive\matching)
Cmon she nailed it!
Perfect cover. I love her tone. Killer snare sound.
Two thumbs-up!
Quite simply, awesome! Thank you so much Chiara!
Brilliant drumming, as a drummer in the early 1980's who was inspired by Neil Peart that was a joy to watch.
Agreed, same here. Funny... it also made me appreciate what an AWESOME mom I had. She survived this phase... all the way thru my death metal & industrial metal days
Holy schomolies, that was awesome, you made me remember how much I love that song, haven't heard it in years. Truly epic.
Great job! Your connection between the kick drum and snare is spot on, that's what I love about this song. Excellent cover!
This drummer is the real deal. I love how relaxed you play. Very inspiring.
I've been listening to Rush since 1975? This album holds a lot of meeting for me since I used to work for NASA. Always loved it this track. You killed it. Congrats well done!
You were employed by JSC?
Countdown must be your favorite Rush song

Very well done! This will always be in my top 5 RUSH songs of all time, because it's so relatable.
Funny, I always say the same thing about it, but nevertheless it's true.
Espetacular performance.. sem dúvida a melhor cover que já vi no UA-cam desta música.😀😀. um abraço do Brasil.
That ride sounds killer.. Bad ass cover .. Good job 👏
Good god. That groove. Nailed. And your drums sound great.

Wow nailed it GREAT JOB
Amazing. It also amazes me that you like Rush. Not too many females do. It sounds great. I have been a Rush fan since 1981. They were always my favorite band.
Michael Alguire huge Rush fan since 1979 😊
Big female Rush fan here 🙌🏻
I like Rush.
81 for me too
Like half the comments here are saying this, and it's absolutely not true.
Also, unless you're a Ferengi, there's no reason to use "females."
great job chiara you have have a lot of control and power and good taste in music
As a now-professional air-drummer who back in my day didnt play past high school, i can only say ... WOW! Great cover Chiara, keep playing!
Great job!
