The 420 dislikes are probably her neighbors, in the entire subdivision! 😎
Lol.
Now that's funny and probably true at the same time
I’d love to be her neighbor. Shit I’d beg her for lessons
Ha haha, its possible, but she is great.
How can't u like this your a miserable fuck if u dont
Anyone who attempts anything Neil Peart drummed is worthy of respect, nice job and disregard the negative responses.
100%+++ Well said - and well done.
Respect. Anything written by the great Neil Peart is a massive challenge, and you nailed this.
Ged said that even Neil's lyrics are so complicated it was hard to put them to melody. Thank the music gods he made it work.
Neal Peart will be sorely missed. Such a talented songwriter and drummer.
Just stumbled upon this channel. This girl is BADASS!! Neil's spirit definitely lives on in her extremities.
Yep, I’m a drummer myself, and Rush songs are definitely not the easiest to play!
She hit every lick ,almost, missed 3,but great
It actually brings tears to my eyes to see a new generation learning and enjoying such timeless music as Rush.
Literally, brother.
don't cr3am yourself 🤦♂🤦♂
the last minute of this song is so difficult, aside from the first 4 minutes of course.. nice work.
Perfect sound
fabulous
RIP Neil Peart
😭😭😭
Great cover. Love how you smack that ride like it owes you money. I was expecting some quarters to drop out from underneath the bell.
🤣 Great comment Kevin!
The bell was a little loud, but that's because it was right beside the mic for the tom. She did a great job.
Perfect description of how she plays the drums. She's phenomenal.
I'm a drummer myself and she's fantastic!!!!!
The people that disliked this could never in their wildest dreams perform this as well as her.
I envision most of the dislikes are from “musicians” who couldn’t even figure out the drums for “Another One Bites the Dust” ... an extremely insecure bunch.
Very true indeed. It's a tough one to play correctly. RIP Professor 😥
Right
Amen to that
Most likely true. I don’t see the point of disliking this. It certainly does not honor Neil Peart to dislike this. Sometimes people just need to be mean. They think it hides their own inadequacy.
Respect for covering this one. A great reminder how talented Neil is and you did this justice. To all who voted down this video, clearly you don't know anything about playing music or instruments... You special snowflakes 😜
I like how you are triggered by people by people with a different opinion, yet you ironically call them snowflakes. 😆
Neil Peart is my main influence. He retired as a professional drummer, but his legacy will continue for generations.
She's offbeat. She needs a metronome. Song is 120 bpm she's playing 118... And trying too hard.
@@Ratboy2004 your joking right?
please tell me something i don't know been a rush fan since moving pictures and a fan of neil
@@Ratboy2004 i don't see ya playing the song so give a break
@@joelawson3638 well Joe, what can I say?
She covers this far better than many tribute drummers - wow!
How do 400 + people not like this? She totally rocks this.
probably 400+ male drummers that can't play it as good as her... and they're envious of her skills. :P
!envious am I know I
Trolls, assholes. Same thing
She crushed it!
Jealous cuz they can't play it as good as this young lady...
Neil Peart is arguably one of the best drummers in rock music and this young woman did a great job!
You got that right. Neil and Carl Palmer, there are none better. RIP NEIL, you will be missed.
Lmao not arguably.
Yeah..for sure..watching this video made me appreciate Neil all over again..
I will try not to be a keyboard critic as I have never drummed before. However, I am a super loyal RUSH fan and of our late and beloved Neil Peart. Yes, she did an excellent job in recreating the odd rhythms and unique metronome like mental tempo that Neil had. However, this was accomplished at great level of stress and excessive activity on such a small drum set in order to recreate Neil's percussion performance. When you close your eyes and listen to her performance, yes, it does sound good, but when you open your eyes, she's like she's excessively overworking herself and struggling to knock out the beats. She was very stiff and too sharp with her beats. In Neil's later years, he said that when he was studying from his mentor, who told him that every beat was a circle and it has to rotate the stick towards him, strike the drum and complete the circle in midair, the drummer. She has to let it flow and let it just take her through the song. Suburbs is one of Neil's less busy songs but nonetheless, it is complex when you have your earphones on and eyes closed listening to what is being brought to your ears. I am not criticizing her performance. I am merely repeating the words of Neil Peart in his interview. Go look it up in UA-cam.
WS Vincent. What are you crazy? Arguably one of the best drummers ever? He might be the best rock drummer ever in fact he is and was. And I'm a guitar player. Tell me somebody that was better on the drums than him. He was one of the most technically proficient drummers that ever played. His influences included Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich. None better
I'm sure the dislikes come from all the people with Peart replica kits that cant play this! Great job on the cover!
I'm 55 years old and I've been following Rush for many years, thank you so much for performing a cover like this mainly because you're so much younger than us and the band itself. You made my day......
I have been playing drums and bass guitar for over 20 years. Rush is one of the bands we cover. I can tell u she is Killing It! Your Amazing!! Rock on.
Anyone who can play the drums the way that Neil Peart can is a master. Definitely amazing!!!
Exactly. I've been drumming since 13, got my first drum when I was 3 and never really even attempted to learn a Rush song correctly. I think I learned Lime Light a hundred years ago but Peart's drumming was too different and too difficult to remember the parts to do it justice. She's amazing.
Amazing. I think Neil Peart himself would be impressed
As a lifelong Rush fan and attendee of over 20 concert tours of theirs over the last 35 years, I understand the complex drumming of Neil and this young woman just nails it. Very wonderful and respectful rendition of his work. Ply on!
Que bueno tener ese logro de verles en conciertos, creo que siempre fue una experiencia fantastica
Well said I'm not even in the double digits when it came to Rush concerts but seeing and hearing the great drummer Neil was an honor in itself. My thinking during their early work was no one can ever come to achieve what he's done as far as Rush songs go. But I've been wrong before. She's excellent.
You gotta respect a woman who appreciates Rush! There aren't too many!
I been to 55 rush concert , my last one Alex lifeson reconized me from all the other front row concerts i attended and walk up to me and i ask him to play mystic rythm and geddy wasnt to happy but the crowd went crazy in west palm beach
geddy is ok but alex is very humble gentle guy with a big heart
Wait, you gotta be pullin' my leg! Ok, he might have recognized you, but then he took your song request and changed the set list? I don't believe that! lol!
@@pbutter237 1985-2016 i had VIP meet and greet several times and i spent nearly 50 thousand on front row rush tickets
geddy is not that friendly to his fans, he is a nice guy but not that friendly

alex is the friendliest out of all of them ,he is truley a great person

Geddy was thrown off the stage!? Was that exit stage left? lol! Now I really don't believe you! ;^)
What's better than a girl drummer? A girl drummer who can play Rush!
Girl? That is a woman.
Karen Carpenter prolly could have.
You played that 16th note ride/HH pattern way more difficultly than Neil's original part! It's actually a lot more simple than that. Well done. Great drum track.
That blew me away, she was doing the hi hat snare and write all at the same Time!
Yes. Neil's part came from a classic Steve Gadd groove. She is adding extra rights on the HH.. Overall a very clean and well executed cover 👏👏👏
When I learned it it was easier to to the extra notes on the hi hat before I just did 8th notes
Agreed. The right hand can stay on the ride (alternating between the bell and the rest of the ride) when not hitting the snare. Great job overall though. The tom fills especially.
@@kenmcnutt2 Exactly. Steve Gadd either invented it or is certainly the first I saw really develop it. He (Neil) does a great version on The Camera Eye too. Cheers.
You're absolutely amazing! Rush is the band that made me want to play guitar. Rest In Peace Neil Peart "The Professor"
Me before clicking video.
"Who is this person that dares to try and cover Neil Peart's work"?
Me after watching video, while clapping hands slowly.
"Damn, she did that, and with authority".
Good job, drummer.
Good job......
Jason Richardson it’s pert.
@@xreconusmc3156 no, it is Peart. Google is your friend when trying to correct someone.
Please. Neil’s body of work is great, legendary, as far as drumming goes but this attitude like he’s untouchable is baffling to me.
I've had fun playing Neil's stuff over the last 30 years. We all try to replicate his work but I think all he would insist on is that we always seek continuous improvement but mostly have fun doing it. That's always been enough for me and I've had no toys and all the toys a drum kit could have. Just have fun.
@@adamshero4695 Read his books and then you will have tasted the Kool-aid
I almost skipped this...Glad I didn't! Fantastic job young lady!! Incredible talent and skill!! Wow!
Your amazing kid, that’s one of my favorite Rush songs ever. It brings me back to a magical time n my life thank you for doing that song justice.... keep up the good work..
What a beautiful tribute to the great Neil Peart... You honor his memory, and for that, I salute you!!
I don’t understand how 365 dipshits wouldn’t like this. It’s awesome. I’m going to watch it again!!!!
Jealousy. Simple as that.

You can't please everyone all the time - this was awesome rush fan or not. I'm just a fan of people working positively and passionately towards personal goals and she is killin it
Id wager Neil Peart would like it, so fuck the haters.
They are the 365 that cannot play even 4 bars of it!!
Covering Neil Peart is ambitious as hell, and you pull it off brilliantly! Wow!
I see a highly successful career playing percussion in your future. I look forward to hearing some of it.
Edit to add: This was the very first video of yours I saw as it popped up in my recommendations. So of course I had to go to your channel, and search for more Rush covers, and listened to your Tom Sawyer cover. And since I'm sure you're not following comments on that one anymore, I figured I'd come back here and reiterate: Wow!
Srsly every band who's ever seen one of your videos has got to be looking at their drummer and thinking "how much do we really like this guy?" If record companies aren't waving checks with lots of zeros at you already, they just haven't gotten around to it yet.
And now I'm going to watch the rest of your videos. Just one more word: If you haven't done Limelight yet, I'd like to put in a word for it, if I may...
Well said
Fuck yeah...nice job on the fills...great pocket and groove...thanks for sharing to the drum community and rush fans!!!
Absolutely beautiful to watch and listen to! Respect!!!!
Grew up loving Rush in the 80's.... Great job, you kick ass. !!!

That was awesome. I watch people do drum covers a lot on FB and UA-cam. It's inspiring. I am 50 years old and have always wished I could play. Really enjoyed watching you play. R.I.P. Neil Peart.
Well Done! I’ve been drumming this on my Steering Wheel for decades 🤣. U nailed it. 👍🏻👍🏻
Chiara, your kit is so much smaller than Neal Perart’s but yet you nail it. Bravo 👍
Does anybody really need all that? Did he? Seriously, I think he could wrap up some of those heads and sell them as brand new/never used...
SO HARD TO DO what you have learned to do and make it look seamless...I enjoyed it..Thanks
not really, this is a pretty easy song for any decent drummer, and I'd say she's making it harder than it needs to be with bad technique in spots.
I’m confused about how you write that any decent drummer...etc...makes it harder...technique...?
Maybe specify your feedback ?
The one thing I was thinking about is this drummer could choke up on the sticks more...(fulcrum) leverage a little low by the hilt.
Other than that, this a difficult song to nail the dynamics. (Ok,bass drum could’ve been a tiny more aggressive\matching)
Cmon she nailed it! 🙂
@@HAKKY2112 - again, not a hard song for any journeyman drummer as dynamics should be an important part of your musical vocabulary. As far as making it harder, look at the section that begins @ 0:29 where she's jumping her right hand from the hi-hat to the ride bell AND hitting the back beats on the snare. Totally unnecessary. Start with the right hand on the ride on the one, hitting the bell on the "and" and use the left hand to fill in the rest of the notes on the hi-hat and hit the back beats. Her snare sound is suffering because she's reaching too far and trying to do too much with her right hand. If this was a real take in a recording situation, no engineer/producer is going to let that slide. You HAVE to nail the back beats and do it with consistency. That's just one instance of a few throughout this track.
Espetacular performance.. sem dúvida a melhor cover que já vi no UA-cam desta música.😀😀. um abraço do Brasil.
Awesome cover. Nailed it. You can imagine why he retired at the top of his game a few years ago. Can you imagine pounding the $hit out of those skins for a concert for three hours a show!!! Compare this play to Charlie Watts and Ringo who just keep the beat and not drive the song! Great cover! Enjoy your rest after you played it!
GREAT JOB! If you can play along with Neil Peart, you can play anything. RUSH RULES!!

I'd think Neil and "the guys at work" would be genuinely impressed with this performance! Well done!
Go girl!!! Do your thing!!!
No. They would NOT!
@@Rush2112001 Care to explain?
@@bradleyard4195 Power on snare drum. Nonsense
@@Rush2112001 Really? That's your complaint? She doesn't hit the snare hard enough? Never mind that she has all the parts down, never mind that she's extremely talented and pretty much nailed the performance, never mind that she plays drums better than you, me, and a whole lot of other people. She didn't hit the snare hard enough for your taste, so it isn't good enough.
You need a hobby or something, man, because if you have time to sit there and tell people they're not good enough at something, you have too much time on your hands. Better yet, why don't you record a video of yourself playing the same song better than her so we can see what real snare drum power sounds like? I mean, since you seem to be an expert at it, why not show it?
Better yet, why not just shut up and enjoy that people with her level of overall talent exist? That would probably be for the best.
all I can say is...AMAZING!!! Well Done! A VERY hard piece to play and you Nailed it!
Thank you so much! 🙂
Neiled it :D

Barry Smith my wayward son!!😜🤪
I really like her focus and how hard she is apparently working on this cover...That's why I played it super loud tonight probably annoying my neighbors...Neil was an absolute percussion master, and never seemed to let that "go to his head" Very easy going and low key in every interview I've ever seen of him. Never knew he was sick, he said in a recent interview that he had wanted to quit performing because of joint pain issues...I figure he knew that if he had told us what was really going on we'd have all freaked out and I guess he didn't want any of that...R.I.P Neil Peart 01/10/2020.

Good job Chiara. Keep on working on those skills. Rush rules!
The nuances of the piece are extremely complex. I've been a Rush fan and trained percussionist since 1979. You tackled it pretty well. Some of the rolls begin with the left and can only be performed that way. As you become more learned and if you tackle learning to write percussive pieces your jaw will drop as you swing between 32nd and 16th note rolls throughout the piece. Keep learning and check out 10,000 days by Tool, he was heavily inspired by Peart as well, keep it up.
Correct Fred. Neil employed 4 stroke ruffs with a LH lead on many tracks.
I don’t think many of the people slobbering over this know how right you are. The real genius of Neil is not only creating this entire drum track but in the nuanced skills he deploys within. Covering a Rush classic, and especially Neil, exposes 2 simple truths: one, you aren’t him, and two, you probably can’t play like him.
RIP NEIL PEART. YOU'VE STILL GOT TO LEARN "The Weapon".
wonderful, drums sound great. Can't get enough of that ride bell.
