I never had experience with classic space or castle until the Galaxy Explorer and Lion Knighte Castle. I'm so glad those came out because I've fallen in love with everything classic space and while I didn't get the castle (way too expensive) I have a strong appreciation for classic castle now.
Oh man. Forestmen from the 80's and 90's were my favourite. Their sets and figurines were amazing. I also liked Wolfpack. Basically the Knights sets from the era were beautiful.
That era was epic! Absolutely loved it!
I had been getting into the old school "Forest men" sets from the late 80's lately, since I never had any, it feels good to now own two which is the camoflauge outpost and the tree outpost.
As a kid, I only ended up owning the 1989 pirates while my playmate at the time owned the Forest Men sets since he was a massive fan of Robin Hood at the time.
i only had two forestmen during my childhood. they came from a castle "battle pack". Some years ago though, i went full goblin mode and now my forestmen army could take over any castle or village xD

This series is really fun. I discovered it just a couple days ago while looking up stuff for the new castle. I hope you cover fantasy era stuff at some point. That’s my favorite castle series
My goal is to do every faction Lego has ever made! I will be doing videos about other stuff to that is castle related! Next tavern talk will be about black knights or lion knights

The Forestmen were originally named Robin Hood in Denmark. This, I believe, was due to the popularity of Disney's Robin Hood which was released on VHS in 1984. The name was probably changed to prevent any possible legal action. Unfortunately I don't have any of my Lego boxes and the Danish instructions doesn't have names on them, but I can't recall it ever being named anything else than Robin Hood, and I was in Legoland every year from 1986 to 1990.
Great video man! The forestmen are absolutely one of my favorite factions. You can find such a variety of figs into their ranks and they seem normal. I use some of the acorn elves from the series 22 and even some centaurs to display with them.

I really hope you'll be covering some other factions! I'm just starting to get into castle as a theme (love the wolfpack with the forest men being a close second) and looking into it myself I get confused by all the names of the different factions so I find it hard to figure out who's who and what names are just the same factions with another name so I love your videos! Its really easy to understand and id love to see you do one of every faction one day!

What bothers me the most is that the Lion Knights and the Forest Men are both heroic, yet they’re pitted against each other.
It gets more interesting with a third rogue faction in the mix, arguably. The Forestmen seem to have the best relationship with ordinary civilians, though.
Love how deep you go in these!! In those vintage minifig collections you mentioned, do the figures have any noticeable differences from the original versions?
Nope they took the originals and brought them back they where just vintage packs bringing older figures back
They will have a different torso-leg attachment in the inside of the torso

Forestmen are one of my favorites, and they came out the year I was born. Yet I didn't get a single Forestman or Dark Forestman without serious damage until 2017, through BrickOwl.
I reject retroactively removing "man/men" as a suffix from factions and creatures that have it. Screw that, these are the Forestmen, and animal-people in high fantasy are Beastmen. The "man/men" part indicates that they are people, not that they are exclusively male; the full name for a male human is werman (like a werewolf, but the second half being human instead of wolf) and the female is wifman and thus woman.
Politically correct language revision can go pound a kite and fly sand.
