I managed to get one of these yesterday!!! I'm so excited 😁 I've got two royal guards from the repack wave, the latest Darth Vader, and the latest ROTJ Luke, and I cannot wait get get the diorama set up 😃

This headsculpt in this set looks way better than the separate release which in my opinion is pretty bad in comparison to this one, but I still think the 5poa version force link figure is still the best 3.75 Palpatine
This is a really cool setup, Tim! And I agree with you. That fold out box is just a really cool elaborate way to mostly package the character. Not much of a diorama or playset per se, but still very nice. And I really like the face sculpt on this emperor as opposed to VC 200. That sinister sneer as opposed to him gritting his teeth seems to go so much better with his personality. Thanks for giving us a great, up-close look at this, especially since this is normally the type of thing that I wouldn't be able to pick up.
I've had this set for over a week now and up until watching your video I had no idea about the hidden drawer. Luckily I didn't throw away the packaging yet... Thanks for enlightening me, BB!

I literally JUST picked up the single carded emperor from Walmart and I must say, I wish the lightning went the entire length of the bubble- ok at least 3/4ths the length! Great video.
Wow, this was certainly a treat and privilege to get an early look at this upcoming set. I just found the TVC200 Emperor yesterday, but this one is the more desirable of the two. I’m hoping as a Pulse Premium Member I’ll have a fighting chance at securing a preorder during the upcoming Pulse Con. Thanks for going through all the efforts you do to track down figures and sets in advance so we can all get a better feel for what they look like. It helps a lot when deciding on to buy or not. This one is a must buy due to that cool throne chair. I’ve got the 6” version of this, but the TVC scale is just as cool. Great video!
The figure should come carded. I also got the separate release because of that detail and I just found out that is a different figure with different headsculpt.

We got this set early in Mexico. I don't know why this happened, but it was definetly a good surprise. I was able to buy 2 sets. The price was 60 dollars.

I know this figure needs soft goods to be able to sit on the throne, but man does that robe just look utterly ridiculous. SOOO big and baggy and bulky. Eeesh.
Hi Bossk, question for next week, what would you think of a Jango Fett movie depicting the events before the Phantom Menace? For example: what he did in order to be cloned, how he met Zam and the war on Mandalore? Also, hope they remaster the Jango bounty hunter game.
My thoughts on the diorama piece are ir you have a couple of the Royal Guards you can put them to either side of him as well, and have Luke and Vader fighting in front of him ... but maybe that's just me. Anyway I was planning on getting this but after seeing this, now I just want it more. I do have a question for you here as of late whenever I leave a question for you in your ask Bossk series I've been having someone calling themselves the Emporer jumping in and answering them, and then you ignore them. Part of the reason I ask you is because I'd like to hear your views on the subject, not somebody that I don't know at all. Can you tell me why this is happening? Thanks and as always I look forward to watching all of your videos.

the disadvantage of cloth on 3.75" inch figures is that the cloth is too thick and therefor it looks odd. On this Emperor, especially when he sits, it looks like he's drowning in cloth. It's way too much.
The pose he’s in when you first open the slip… The Arms! It’s like “Come give grandpa a HUG! Gimme Gimme Gimme Gimme!”

There are some real gems in terms of face sculpt in the Force Link Lines. The Palpatine, Yoda, and TLJ Kylo all look great.
