Just bought 3 of these at a local discount toy warehouse in Canada for just $24.99 CAD! Been ages since I've seen a bargain that good on Hasbro Star Wars, just about just under 15£
I've ordered 2 of these sets and I can't wait to get my hands on them. They do look very good indeed! About those stormtroopers: my Han stromtrooper helmet has also slightly yellowed and has definitely not been played with nor exposed to a lot of sunlight. The Luke one is newer so hasn't gone yellow yet, but i expect it will sooner or later. I wish Hasbro could use a better material of plastic for those stormtroopers.
@@BossksBounty I see your point, this year is the 5 year anniversary of Rogue One....Hasbro's promoting the crap out of that! (And if it gets me a Baze and Bodhi in TVC I am all for it!)
Well imagine putting enough of these sets together. You could then estimate the full size of a scale Tantive IV. Hmm? Maybe a giant build a ship scenario ? Even a Haslab couldn't pull it off. Maybe more portions with enclosed figures and or droids? I doubt many wives would put up with that. Lol. Nice to dream though.
Over the past months I have acquired several of the Rebel Fleet Troopers from Power of the Jedi line to go with my one loose Vintage Collection Trooper in anticipation of receiving this Playset. Can’t wait to populate it over this weekend!
Very nice review as always. I’ve always had a deep appreciation for Scifi set designs in film. I think we need a Star Destroyer Bridge so we can display Vader and the Bounty Hunters.

i just got this set. so excited to set up my scenes. I already have 6 Rebel Fleet Troopers I bought off someone in one of the groups and I have 3 Rogue One stormtrooper already and another 8 on the way from Entertainment Earth.
Wow.... i must really be out of it... I didn't know this even existed 😳....I would love to get this GEM for my collection 😃... Thanks for your Amazing Reviews!!!! Great 👍 Job and keep it going 👏..
You can always buy the captain Antillies figure that was a fan favorite figure. It came out about 10 years ago or so.great looking playset! Can't wait to get one.
You can find a Rebel Fleet Trooper on the green Power of the Force, POTF Freeze Frame, and 2002 green Power of the Jedi #54 cards. There's also the 2002 Saga - A New Hope Rebel Troop builder set of 4. Just some different options to put in an Ebay search bar.
I just got this, and I am not going to open the Rebel Fleet Trooper VC 183, or the VC 52 Rebel Fleet Trooper that I have. I used the Rebel Fleet Troopers from the Power of the Jedi line, and the Saga line which the figures are the same from both these lines and are cheaper and still look good. I also used Captain Antilles from the Saga line. I am sure these figures will now go up on the secondary market, because of this playset.
Looks great. I have 2 ordered & have 3 Rebel Troopers from the Power of the Jedi line which are decent enough. Looking forward to doing some photos when I get my sets with vintage as well as modern figures.
I got 2 of my sets in earlier this week, and I think they're great. The modularity is very well thought out by Hasbro, and the set looks really nice. The price feels just right for the set and the figure, the custom stuff costs substantially more and requires work. My only gripe is that I want to be able to order a full case of the RFT.
Very interesting to watch your older videos, did you have an inkling Hasbro were going to release the Rebel Trooper builder pack when you made this? keep up the great content!
The face and head sculpt of the included rebel trooper figure is reminiscent of Bud the zombie from George Romero's original (1985) Day of the Dead film.
Now THIS is a great Star Wars piece! Whether you collect TVC or not, this is a must have. Credit where credits due, Hasbro did a good job on this one! Great review my friend.
Very cool play set Tim. Love TVC packaging of this set and figure cardback I am a bit confused and let down, I was thinking on the live stream reveal of this set, back a few months ago that it was going to come with 2 pieces of the corridor, not just one. I guess I was mistaken. Great review Tim.
Great review mate. Sad I haven’t received mine yet but hopefully won’t be long. About the things you queried: - You’re right, Vader didn’t set foot on Tantive IV in Rogue 1. If he did, A New Hope would’ve effectively ended right then! - most folk I know pronounce it to rhyme with “give”.
This is more of a display than a playset which is fine by me but if they did want to make a playset they could do it in two pieces. The engine section would store the bridge part. It would be the size of a toy chest. You would snap them together. The bridge part would have the corridor, some turrets, some rooms. The engine part could be used to store small vehicles or whatever.
it’s Tan TeeV Four the Tan Tiv Vee Four came from the radio drama. It was the first time the name of the ship was spoken and the actor who was playing the part on the radio drama accidentally spoke the name wrong. He had trouble with all the names of some characters and the ships and planets in Star Wars. He misspoke on a few names and this ship was one of them. For some reason the only word he misspoke that stuck with us is this Tantive IV. some insist that it’s pronounced the way he misspoke and other go with that being a mistake. heheh
You can still pick up the Rebel Fleet Trooper from the Power of the Force 2 line for relatively cheap on the after market. Yeah they are way less articulation but it could probably work to fill out the ranks a little.
Really impressive Tim. A greatly improved set compared to the carbon chamber. The white plastic looks like it has a really tactile feel to it. It's about time we got this playset, considering it was the very first appearance of Darth Vader. I can't believe a carded figure is more expensive than the entire playset That's crazy. Excellent review. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Ok, this is the 1st video review of this set I’ve seen and I have to say I’m more impressed than some earlier photo reviews I’ve seen. This looks fantastic. I have one on preorder from Hasbro Pulse and I assume it should ship soon as this is showing up all over UA-cam. Not sure what I’m gonna do with my Rebel Trooper since I’ll only have one and keeping it mint on card is priority. So I’ll have to shop aftermarket to find a replacement trooper. Damn Hasbro.
Maybe the Trooper who is "from Rogue One" was a trooper who was on that larger ship Vader boarded originally and then escaped onto the T4? IDK, that's my reasoning, lol.
P.s true enough about New Hope & Rogue One Vader... but what Vader would you suggest they use on box?! 🤣 this one is ANH all the way! Plus I consider Rogue One & ANH and seamless/one and the same nowadays anyway hehe 😉
yeah makes sense to the use the Vader, but just found it strange that the set is a mix of both. As you say its seamless so they could have put that Vader on a Star Wars card. Probably didnt because we already have VC93. But the RFT on a Rogue One card in a Star Wars logo set just seemed odd. Just another way of making us buy the set as carded collectors want the variant card.
Also what’s great about this set is that it makes it MUCH easier to find a diorama piece to display rather than the difficulty of buying a custom or making one yourself!
Awesome play set! Can’t wait to get a 2nd. I did find it funny that that envelope was the same color as the packaging. Why not make it standout by using a white envelope? I knew it was in there, but still struggled to find it. It’s a shame that the VC52 card back is so expensive.
Could you buy another set and combine them like the Carbon Freezing chamber set? I like the idea of giving us a Tantive IV playset. Would like to see more playability. Maybe a storage area for the figure accessories and the excess pegs. Those things are just asking to go missing. What I would really like to see is a Tantive IV. Maybe that would be a great idea for the next Haslabs project.
Someone told me those pegs were in the box like that, but I never found them in any of the contents. I would love to get two more of these sets. Really hoping for a sale
Much better than the carbon freezing chamber playset. I don't know if I would have room for this one though. It just seems too long. Nice review though Tim.

I bought 4 of them. I think they can be used for different scenes not just the iconic scene its intended for. Its a wonderful set and I plan to make 4 different corridor scenes using many different vintage set characters. I still think these play sets could be cheaper for what you're getting, but this one is a better set up than the carbon freezing chamber set. However they are cheap and they could drop the price OR give the buyer another generic figure. Like the Carbon freezing set could have come with troopers or those little guys we saw working on the chamber and the tantive could have given us 2 crew member rebellion troops etc..
Very good review .I actually prefer the art work on the older card back for the rebel trooper, they should’ve used that. Can I ask you a question for your ask Bossk session please ? I agree. This set is awesome. All those 70s kids now approaching their 50s would have loved something like this back in 1977.
Hardly a playset though is it? More like a dio background. We need to demand more from Hasbro, not settling for less

The Rogue One Vader looks like the Original Star Wars Vader, with the Robes over his shoulder armor, so that look is consistent.
its does, so why didnt he come on a Star Wars card. Just find it odd.

I like the way they improved the packing of the figure. Hasbro should go back to the 2004 clamshell and pack it that way inside
Why not? I'd buy it as long as it's in the vintage packaging
