Yes! I've seen a person almost rappel in this configuration😮. I was like, "hey... I prefer my rope going through the caribiner when I use an ATC"😂.

Weight test every descent device before every descent before coming off the safety. If it has been the first day for a while, have a mate run a second top-belay also.....

It's when you're really smoked that it's easiest to make that mistake. Brain plays tricks on you. Always have your partner point and verify.

Prussic seems like a good option. I don’t like rapping with the megajul like that so I do it upside down and do an extended rap with a prussic
Have you done videos on how to set up a rappell that’s safe and basic for a noob (like myself) to understand and copy?

There are dozens out there. Watch ALL of them, then get somebody with some experience to go with you a few times.
The part that shocked me is how he instantly let go of the rope. Like come on man, that should be against your instincts.
This was filmed purposely for demonstration. He was safe the whole time
Just like mountaineering, most accidents happen on descent.
Had a buddy do this and his prussik saved him. Not intentionally of course…
Two is one and one is none. Be redundant, take your ego out of it and ask your partner to check you. And don't think it can't happen to you.
