This is a concept that I truly adore. I'm a hopeless romantic at heart for as long as I can remember, but felt like I've lost myself in the past several years and it's a damning feeling..Even yesterday I said aloud "I feel as though my days are running together as one collective feeling of sadness and repetition.." And although I'm still trying to figure out how exactly to romanticize my life, I love this video and your voice and appreciate you taking the time to create this video. 🌹
Thank you so much for sharing your voice and your struggles. I definitely understand where you're coming from. A couple of years ago on New year's Eve I said aloud 'this was another wasted year, and it's no one's fault but my own' which I now know is untrue, I was in the deep depths of my depression so I could only have so much control, but the experience of having a deep inner world, and inner longing but having it not fully tangible I can relate to. I'm sending you lots of love and strength to nurture those bits of yourself, and it makes me very happy if my little videos can bring you a small comfort 💚
Dance in the grocery aisles when you think no one is watching, find a beautiful place to sit in the woods or by a garden, wear a crazy dress and have tea in your house. 😋I’ve been depression free for about a year now and finding joy is just so intoxicating.
Imagining yourself in a ghibli movie! That's a whole mood. I used to do that more than I do now, I'll definitely try to focus on this kind of mindfullness!
That was such a cute video!! For me at least, a very romantic appreciation of life comes super naturally when I'm constantly reading books. My imagination is active all the time, I escape, I learn, I travel, I feel so many emotions and when I stop reading and look at my surroundings, like my apartmnet, my cats, I feel such gratitude and sense of ease. Books have always saved me; when I was trapped in social media endless scrolling, sad times, and of course this pandemic. It doesn't mean reading tons of books but making reading an essential part of my life.
I love this, thank you so much for sharing! I know what you mean, when you're really 'in' the world of a book (and sometimes a good movie for me too!) It can totally influence how you view your surroundings. Thanks for inspiring me to make reading an even more present part of my days!
in the morning i go sit in my sun room with the sun coming thru my window panes warming me. I read my devotions . After I make a cup of coffee. My husband built me the beautiful sun room it has cathedral ceiling & he put in the paint stardust & when the light shines on them it is like a million stars glistening . My calming place ! Thank you for sharing this video with us
Another great video! Love the idea of seeing oneself as the main character, plus the fun of overlaying the magic of imagination over present experience. Great resilience tip too. Thanks Salinda :)
I had never heard of this concept before, but it's something I've done naturally as I've gotten older. I often imagine myself as a character in a movie and this helps me appreciate the fun and adventure in my life and it also reminds me in the difficult times that every character and person has a struggle so it makes me feel less alone. It also allows me to view my life in a larger lens and be analytical about my choices and my lifestyle (e.g. Am I traveling enough, doing enough interesting activities, etc?) This can inspire me to do more, but it can also be detrimental when comparing yourself to a character in a story, as our lives can't always be exciting. So for those quiet moments I try to be mindful and know that the next adventure may just be around the corner!
I recently went to a beautiful estate, Ickworth house actually, in Suffolk, and while there I talked to my husband about what he would do if he was the lord of the house. I imagined him as such as we walked the gardens and had our afternoon tea. It was beautiful, and I feel imagination is a wonderful tool we lose sight of as we age.
I found your channel a few days ago after looking in the comments on Rachel Maksy video. I just wanted to say you are awesome! I'm going to catch up on your work and content I'm loving it so far 😀 Keep doing what you love! Can't wait to see the next video
you live in a very nice place..I love the view and the nature lots of plants and mountains..and dear you always look so adorable in every outfit you wear..while watching your video i remember one of my favorite movie which is the sound of music ..Its so fun and I want to live a life like this so peaceful and relaxing far away from anxiety and depression
I feel very lucky to have made this place my home, I ended up here by chance! Sometimes I do feel like I'm in the sound of music, singing in the hills 💚
Yep totally do this! It was really nice watching this video little wolf girl :) When I was little and sad I would look out the window when it was raining and *le sigh*
Love the video! I can identify with how you look back on yourself as a child and view how you processed the world around you and used your imagination. I too feel the same way and view myself similarly. Life is tough and for a lot of people.....extraordinarily tough. Having the ability to know yourself (what helps you through tough bits or low bits) is a part of each one of us nurturing ourselves and our own mental health. Hats off to you Salinda! Well done! I too love to start my day with a cup of tea and a piece of toast. Knitting, coloring, sewing and handicrafts are some of my vices too! I have a satellite radio(SiriusXM) and they have a 40s channel that I love to listen to when I am making dinner or preparing things in the kitchen. I love a good book of short stories, Bible verses, 'chicken soup for the soul' books...or books about angels. Love sitting outside in the yard hearing the birds singing, feel the breeze on my face, hear the wind chimes gently tinkling. Lovely.
Thank you for your lovely response Stephanie 💜 And thank you for sharing those snapshots of your life! I love hearing everyone's experiences and the little things that make them happy. Sitting outside with the breeze listening to the wind chimes... I can hardly thing of anything more magical!
the stroopwafel on your coffee warming up is THE ONLY WAY to eat a stroopwafel 😍 i often go out on walks, preferably around sunset when the streets are calm and the sky is beautiful. the colors make me feel comfortable. 😘
@@SalindaNichols That's amazing !! I'm an Infp and I totally related to having a big imagination as well . I think having it makes life more vibrant and creative . And it's gotten me through some pretty tough times ! I love your videos ! Keep up the great work , and you're absolutely beautiful !!💗💗
Yet for me, I don't like the world to revolve around me. I feel that there's a reason why we don't see ourselves (unless we look at the mirror/glass) because the world is not about ME. Sometimes I ask myself why do I have to wear makeup when I can barely see myself the whole time. If I want to see beauty then I should help make other people look pretty because it's them I see.
This is a concept that I truly adore.

These bloopers are everything!! Oh I wished I could be in the countryside right now. It's so claustrophobic in London right now :(
I bet it is :( I have been very thankful to have this as my backyard during this strange year. You must come down once the world allows!
@@SalindaNichols Oh I would love to visit when we can travel again, it looks so picturesque! Plus, it's been forever since the Southbank!

Step 1: have a life worth romanticizing
Does anyone know or has a tip on how Romanticize your work if you really don't enjoy it :(
Sheep butt! 😂 Sometimes I do romanticize my life and it always makes me feel much better, the life more special and magical.
It really is my favourite tool for mindfulness! And the sheep butts certainly help too 😆
