I can't help but sit here thinking Art Blakey probably played this song a million times, yet the smile at the end feels so authentic that you know he loved playing for people. There are other recordings of this song with less errors, but none with as much heart as this one has.
I Absolutely love this smooth jazz groove Moanin' what an epic, timeless classic! I can listen to it any day of the week by Art Blakey! Each horn player gets 2 minutes to shine! but my favorite. horn is that slide/trombone the 1 with swiss cheese cut though..nicety.👍👍✌

Curtis is using a type of Soft Mute. It's a kind of bag with holes in to absorb some of the overtones and sharp edges of the sound. Also he almost drops his Trombone at @7:00 . Funny face :p
