Just Magic WOW all these Masters performing I sure Hope these Folks realize they are listening to these Great Legends. My Man Grady Tate on Drums a Sensational Drummer and Singer as well This just COOKS
I haven't heard from Lou Donaldson in a while I didn't know that he was still alive. The guitar organ combination is ideal. The soloists are not overpowered.Brilliant musicians.
C'est l'artiste magnifique malheureusement beaucoup passent a côté de ces nombreux disques très classés. Avec des grands comme Jimmy Smith Barbara Dennerein Sonny Rollins Joe Henderson et d'autres. Merci.
I guess Lou Donaldson isn't considered one of the all-time greats, but he sure cut some fabulous sides, going back to his collaborations with Clifford Brown
That cut is called (Scratch My Back) and it's written by (Stanley Turrentine) and it's from his debut performance. Listen to the (mc) and you'll here him say it...
As of 5/2/20 Sweet Poppa Lou is still with us at 94!
I love Jimmy Smith and all those great musicians I grew up listening too.Gone but never forgotten.

Lou is touring Europe these days - 85 years of classic Jazz - may he be around for years to come!!!

My cat loves the swingin jimmy Smith.......and so do I 🐈⬛
I sold my B3 while living in NYC in 1981. I lived on the six floor and it was too big for the elevator. It still bothers me today.
Now two floors with no gear is a haul-and I lug drums after helping with the B-3
I owned an even larger A100 and had to load it into a van a couple of times a week to play gigs.
I sold my Selmer "SBA" alto years ago because I was broke. I weep for it daily.
im feeling so sad but im so happy to listen to the band makes me feel so much better thanks for posting
What a line-up....whew.
Just awesome......

The two horns form a very good combination.
Selmer "SBA" - the best jazz alto sax ever.

Great cuts. The Turrentine song is The Jumpin' Blues by Jay McShann for those that don't already know.
That cut is called (Scratch My Back) and it's written by (Stanley Turrentine) and it's from his debut performance.
Listen to the (mc) and you'll here him say it...
