The one thing I think you could talk about a bit more is the design and ergonomics, what it can hold, how easy it is to use. Construction and materials isn't the whole picture. I notice with his pocket designs that he isn't really taking ease of use for digging a card pocket out. When you put a credit card into a proper pocket, it should actually be sitting right at or slightly above the pocket top above it, so that your finger has a tiny gap to grab the card from. With how buried they cards are in his pockets (card line is actually below it's own pocket top, nevermind the one above) you're going to destroy your fingernails trying to get them out, and really have a hard time with it. Small design and ergonomic details like this make a huge difference in the end product, and is something I see a lot of leatherworkers miss. Try out different heights and see, you'll notice a big difference in usability!
Usually leather wallets have a break in period and it gets easier to put cards in and out of it after a while. Checking the full thickness and how well it fits in pants would be good though.
Had my Louis Vuitton wallet for 15 year and use it every day and its still 100% stitching and 90% leather condition so even though I paid a fortune in 2008 (~$150) its now $400 its worth every cent. The way I see it is it will far outlive me making it the only thing other than gold and silver that can last as long!
It's funny, actually. LKG, you, and Weaver Leathercraft have all gotten me interested in trying this craft out. . . The first video I ever found from your channel was the harbor freight tools video which got me to wonder and look into this. I know they might not be your most performant videos, but you've definitely had an impact on at least one person, so thank you for that.
Tammy Silverwolf Me, too! I love furniture refinishing for its therapeutic affects (for me, at least) and leather working seems like it would be calming and therapeutic as well. And fun!
I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos and your integrity will make me a future customer. As I have gotten older I have come to appreciate quality made items versus cheap disposable Chinese junk .
I think it’s so unique to have it be two stitch lines and having every edge burnished. I’m intrigued to see if he has any videos making these wallets on his channel. Definitely going to check him out.
What is so cool about Ryan is that he shows you how he makes his wallets. He spends as much time on his video production as he does on his leather goods. I find his videos to be some of the highest quality (production, camera work) on the internet. I would buy a wallet from him if I needed one. Great review Weston. I love this series. Really, how many boots can I watch being cut in half? I totally agree with your placement of the chart.
Thanks for another great video. I am a big fan of LKG and really appreciate your review of his products. You didn’t review a handstitched wallet, but stitching is an under appreciated skill, and the hand stitches on LKG is immaculate and well worth the few extra dollars.
I started learning to appreciate quality leather and leather goods through your earlier videos and it also sparked a passion for leathercrafting in me so I just want to thank you for putting in the effort to showcase what great products crafted with love for the art truly are. Thank you and I hope you keep on doing an amazing job with the channel!
Look at saddleback wallets. It's made out of cowhide and pig skin. Some reviews said that they had there's for almost 10 years. I had mine for almost 2 years and it's still breaking in. By far my best wallet I ever owned and on the inside there's a labor wearing sombrero imprint. It was the bifold one not the trifold and it was around 100 bucks if I can remember. Thank you!
Im sure other people have been suggesting this but it would be cool to see some leather jacket reviews as well! Like Schott and stuff like that. Love your channel.
Great job with the wallet reviwe man, I always like to see a change in pace! But I have a suggestion for some boots to cut in half! Reebok makes a line of tactial boots called the Sublite. I think it would be very inetresring to see them cut in half because I find them rather comfortable, and you haven't done any military style boot yet! So even more of a change in pace. Just lemme know what you think. Oh also! They're only around 150$ so they'd be a good budget option.
Pricing your work, I think can be hard in the beginning, but seeing you tear apart other peoples work, to reveal the quality and construction, gives me a much better idea on how to price my work. Thank you again for sharing.
I bought a single track wallet from a company called Rustico a few years ago that has held up beautifully. It's hand sewn and seems like thick leather. I would love to see you do a tear down of any of their wallets! (It looks like most of there stuff is now machine sewn, but it's also all around 25-30$ so it seems like a fair price for what seems like such incredible leather)
I feel like you coulda been a bit more generous on the quality tbh. The attention to detail is WAY higher than that craft and lore wallet. Yeah it might last longer but the fit and finish on the little king goods wallet is so impressive.
Love watching his stuff. His videography skills are very impressive for sure. I'm sure part of the cost is reflected by the equipment and marketing he does for his 'Brand' as well. He has done an excellent job building a consistent high end brand presentation. Some people don't realize how important and time consuming it is to be able to do that. From the equipment it takes to the time, attention and also money it takes to create & maintain that level of professionalism. There's a lot that goes into all that and every small thing matters! Things like paying attention to all of those smaller details on your product. But not even just the product your selling but who are you trying to reach with your product, what kind of light do you want it to be in. Making sure you are conveying that in each picture you take of it, in your packaging, in your website and all of your social media accounts.. etc. There is definitely a lot of hard work that goes into doing what he does and what you do also. I admire that type of dedication and appreciate seeing that type of passion in anything someone does! Good review and thanks for doing another wallet mixed in with the boots and shoes.
Ahh the Little King Goods guy was plugged and featured in a Peter McKinnon video! His videos are nice and I think yours could be equally as nice. I think the difference is the whole cinematic depth of field thing that he has going on in his shots. The blurry background stuff. So you just need to spend a little bit of that crazy expensive sneaker money on fast lenses! 🙂
I like all the videos! The wallets are fun on a different level then the shoes. I sew and I can make wallets so seeing those reviews inspires me to make things, and to focus on details. While the boot reviews inspire me to buy good craftsmanship.
Great honest analysis of Little King Good's wallet. Appreciate your input on his work, and yes, very "pretty" videos indeed. Have you ever got your hands on a Saddleback Leather Wallet or product? I was (still am) a big of Dave's products since he is all about the durability and quality of his leather products. I would be interested in a look at his wallets considering he has moved away from a smaller scale company, to that of a larger production. Could be some insight into larger production leather good companies. As usual, love your videos and reviews! Keep it up!
Hey, could you review the nicks snap wallet? It's supposedly stitched with the same stitching as their boots and with the same leather so it would be interesting to see how it holds up to their own boots that you already have cut up. Plus they're pretty cheap for a wallet (at $34ish) that'd last as long if not longer than the boots
I have a cardholder from Red Wing. Before I had one in metal, but it ruined the inside of my pockets. I'm very pleased with the cardholder from Red Wing. Maybe you could do a review of one of their cardholders?
I have leather from an estate sale, thought I got a great deal on good full grain calfskin, learned at home it’s actually corrected grain with a plastic top coat - that came off when I took the price sticker tape off. I’m going to make a wallet/cardholder with it, I think. Have to work around the peeled top coating. Sigh. I guess this is what happens when you buy something without knowing how to tell quality properly. Any ideas on what I should do with the areas that now no longer have a coating, or are peeling off?
I love these reviews. It gives us the insides on how the other makers build their wallets. I feel like having you review my wallet but I'm afraid of a bad review, lol (me being a small company). Keep up with these reviews. I love them.
Loved this. Would you do a review of some Coronado Leather wallets? I had a bad experience with them last year, and I have some suspicions that they aren't as solid as their ethos makes them seem.
Now you've got me thinking I need a better wallet. What won't you do to get me spending. I didn't use to know that I owned a bunch of junk. I see Toaster prefers the boot cutting videos.
Came across a wallet on Etsy that checks all the boxes of a wallet that I'm looking for! It's called the "Money Clip Leather Wallet w/ Coin Pocket" by Odorizzi! I really hope that it'll be on your list of wallet reviews!!! I've enjoyed almost of ur vids! They're all really educational! Stay awesome!!!
Wallet may be least favorite contents but I love it! I am into leather products so much because of you! I want you to review Ezra Arthur wallet!! I just love its leather and want your opinion.
Love your vids man, they've really got me more interested in leather craftsmanship, real cool to see the time people put into their craft. Might not be the most viewed series but all information and reviews are great. Would like to see some of these details carry over to your boot teardowns, don't remember if you ever went too much detail on that in those, and hopefully see a vid on thorogoods which touts itself as american made quality but I've noticed some of their boot's stitching isn't so great, would like to see your opinion and thoughts on that and how that also plays in a boots durability
Have a look at STR handmade on Etsy. I just bought a wallet from Tomas and it is superb. You can have whatever combo of leather and thread that he has in stock. I believe it’s better value and at least as good.
Hey can you review Andar Wallets? They claim to use Full grain leather and I would be curious to know your opinion on them. Also I just wanted to say that I just discovered your channel and I love it! I feel like a proud mom seeing you make progress with your channel lol. I definitely plan on buying some stuff from you in the future. Keep up the good work!
Glad to see this review series continue! Would it be possible to review some of the handmade wallets coming out of Europe and Asia? I noticed different aesthetics and construction from the various makers in the different regions and it would be great to get a North American crafter’s opinion on what’s going on elsewhere!
I’m really interested in seeing you reviewing a wallet from Abrasus. It’s a Japanese company that manufactures their products in Japan. If you pick their embossed leather, it’s made in Japan as well. The Japanese has a well deserved reputation for perfection in arts and crafts, and this company is no exception. Some of their craftsmen are over 65 years old, so their level of experience is very high. You’ll find that it’s more refined than any wallet you’ve reviewed so far, while having higher quality than Bellroy.
Love the vids. I bought a Craft & Lore blue ghost wallet and I love it. I’m currently waiting for my lil pit bull puppy to grow a little more I can I can order a harness from rose anvil, the look so sweet.
Ryan does some great stuff on his channel...you should check out Artie Shell at Mascon Leather, his work is incredible and his bags are crazy. The Corter Leather series is great as well, plenty of hand-sewn stuff in there. The Stock and Barrel guys and LKG use clicker presses to cut the patterns...makes for perfect cuts every time
Would you consider doing a breakdown of something from Big Red Beard Combs. Their name aside, they make some pretty great (IMHO) leather wallets. I've had mine for about six years now without any issues. Just a thought. Otherwise, keep up the great work!
Giving a good review of your competitors product just shows your integrity, and why your channel continues to grow....
I truly appreciate how you honestly review other brands seeing it as an art and not as a competition shoes how good of a person you are

My favorite serious you do as well. I love seeing how people make their wallets.

He has videos on making wallets.
Ryan inspired me to buy my leather sewing machine and I love it. Theres a learning curve to it but its totally worth it. Great guy!!
What is so cool about Ryan is that he shows you how he makes his wallets. He spends as much time on his video production as he does on his leather goods. Really, how many boots can I watch being cut in half? I totally agree with your placement of the chart.
Amazing review and been seeing little king goods grow and one of many reasons I began to craft leather goods.
Love your passion for leather working
Thanks for another great video. I am a big fan of LKG and really appreciate your review of his products. You didn’t review a handstitched wallet, but stitching is an under appreciated skill, and the hand stitches on LKG is immaculate and well worth the few extra dollars.

that was the most careful teardown so far. It shows that you want to put it back together.
Im sure other people have been suggesting this but it would be cool to see some leather jacket reviews as well! Like Schott and stuff like that. Love your channel.
You are reviewing everything I want to see don't stop these are great
I always love your reviews so much, no matter what type of product you’re digging into.
Love the color combination

luv it- Hey I would like to see some reviews on mainstream/ commercial brands like Fossil. It will be fun to watch the comparison
.
Rory O love this idea!
Pricing your work, I think can be hard in the beginning, but seeing you tear apart other peoples work, to reveal the quality and construction, gives me a much better idea on how to price my work. Thank you again for sharing.
Really neat to see and hear about yall and see you review other makers stuff
I was just going to have this on in the background but got sucked into it. Great job! Super interesting!

The single most beautiful wallet I’ve ever seen…
Would love to see a tear down of a Ettinger bridle leather wallet
Seems like designing wallets would be a fun 3D puzzle. I can see why you like it.
Very cool that you purchased this item "anonymously" to prevent you from receiving special treatment. Definitely shows your integrity!
I would love to see a video of how to get in to leatherworking. Like where to start as a beginner and where to look for help etc. love the content!
I’ve got some videos on beginner tools and basics of leather working
Can you please review the Lotuff Leather Bifold Wallet?
I feel like you coulda been a bit more generous on the quality tbh. The attention to detail is WAY higher than that craft and lore wallet. Yeah it might last longer but the fit and finish on the little king goods wallet is so impressive.
Love seeing the leather wallet reviews, keep them coming
You weren't wrong. LKG videos are National Geographic quality :) I think I shed a tear when you cut this one open. I hope Toast is doing okay.
Love watching his stuff. His videography skills are very impressive for sure.

Wow Weston ! Great video yet again!
love these videos , thanks for sharing
thanks my favorite series too

Very cool, wallets are nice your channel taught me a lot about leather and made me realize my “genuine leather” wallet was kinda trash
I like all the videos! The wallets are fun on a different level then the shoes. I sew and I can make wallets so seeing those reviews inspires me to make things, and to focus on details. While the boot reviews inspire me to buy good craftsmanship.

Review a shell Cordovan card holder /wallet from Ashland leather in Chicago
I actually really love the wallet ones

Love the jakcet
You should review Leather Works Minnesota wallets.
Love these wallet videos, do more!
Little kinda goods is great channel and videography is mind blowing
I LOVE your jacket! What brand is it?
You are right, my fav series on the channel! Commenting for that UA-cam algorithm lol
you just boost my confidence
I though LKG wallets were perfect
Can you reveiw the feilders choice wallet made partially from an old baseball glove
I love little king goods. The quality is ridiculous. It was the first channel I saw on UA-cam and I now started leathercraft myself.
Great review as always. Please take a look at Trayvax for your next video!
Wallet may be least favorite contents but I love it! I am into leather products so much because of you! I want you to review Ezra Arthur wallet!! I just love its leather and want your opinion.

Hey can you review Andar Wallets? They claim to use Full grain leather and I would be curious to know your opinion on them. Would you link to where we can get our hands on your thread cutter / razor awl?
You should do bag reviews please. Camera bags, leather bags, school bags ya know things like that.
Glad to see this review series continue! Would it be possible to review some of the handmade wallets coming out of Europe and Asia? Nice wallet, nice review, I think you make really good stuff, thanks s lot!
What's the little knife you use to cut the shoes and wallets? I've been wondering for months now.
It looks like the Industrial Knife Handle from Tandy. I think it's the same type of knife as the Xacto #5, but not positive.
Please do a RoseLeatherCrafting slim kangaroo leather wallet review please !!!! I have had one for a year now and love it.
Love the vids. I bought a Craft & Lore blue ghost wallet and I love it. I’m currently waiting for my lil pit bull puppy to grow a little more I can I can order a harness from rose anvil, the look so sweet.
That is awesome! send me some pics
Do Jackson Wayne wallet or any of their other goods

HahnsAtelier gives Ryan a run for his money. The best leathercraft videos on UA-cam.
Looks like a souped up version of the popov 5 card wallet.
Awesome review!
Would you consider doing a breakdown of something from Big Red Beard Combs. Their name aside, they make some pretty great (IMHO) leather wallets. I've had mine for about six years now without any issues.
Just a thought. Otherwise, keep up the great work!
Please do an Ashland leather shell cordovan wallet.
awesome review!
Please do carl friedrik I havent found any good reviews on it And im super curious what you think about it
Could you do a belt video too?
Thank you.
Hey, I'm curious what you think about the Roik City (or any of their wallets). Please consider doing a video on one of those :D
Could you cut ariat cowboy boots in half?
You should do it with a Red Hills Co!!!
Would be cool to see you do a review of a Saddleback wallet. I've been using them for years and would be curious to see your opinion.
Nice outer shirt btw 👌👌👌
I know you concentrate on leather goods, but you should consider reviewing Dango wallets for their durability and built.
You should check out monk made Goods. Absolutely beautiful wallets
This video hurt way more than the Jordan's tear down 😭
Unlike the jordans he can put this wallet back together lol.
What a pretty wallet
Could you cut a Saddleback Leather wallet? I’d love to see what you think of the quality of Jakes leather.
I think this hurt more then when you cut boots..i think because im a fan of his channel... any chance you can review oakstreet boots. Puhleaze!
