. North by Northwest is another one of my "comfort food" movies. The chemistry between Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint is sharp and satisfying all the way through, with a terrific supporting cast. Jessie Royce Landis is always enjoyable as Cary Grant's mother. The scenes showing people from a high vantage point are always intriguing to watch. Alfred Hitchcock always knew how to attract and hold a person's attention.
This dazzling movie masterpiece is one of my ten most favorite color films ever made, sixth place actually as of now and thats saying a helluva lot cuz ive seen several thousand.
Hitch's funniest cameo not getting on the bus. His other two great cameos in The Birds he's seen walking out of the pet shop with two dogs a leash in each hand and in Lifeboat the funniest cameo he's seen in a newspaper advertisement for weight loss that was brilliant.
The greatest of all Hitchcock movies ! And 'Old Westbury' is stunning - one of the north shore's great houses. >>UA-cam: please give us this movie free !
@@Al_Asadi through Turner Entertainment. Turner brought the the pre 86 MGM Titles, RKO Pictures library and Warner Bros. Titles that was under United Artists . When TimeWarner purchased Turner Ent. , it was ultimately merged to WB Library. In other words the movie is co owned by Turrner
Did Warner Bros. choose to upload this because TENET is supposedly as mixture of Inception and North by Northwest...? Foreshadowing for the new trailer...???
I thought this opening scene was absurd. Are we suppose to believe that no one in the hotel lobby area there aren't going to notice that Thornhill is being abducted. That Thornhill wouldn't cry out, HELP! I'M BEING KIDNAPPED but of course if he did there wouldn't be any movie

MATERPIECE!! One of my favorite master Hitchcock movies. Thanks Warner and MGM
One of Alfred Hitchcock’s best thriller and I have seen it in my film class!
Never noticed before the song that is playing as Thornhill walks into the Plaza. "It's a Most Unusual Day.". It certainly was.
One of Alfred's cameos.
One of Cary's best.
Where was he in the film?

Just after the credits, he tries to get on the bus as it closes the door + pulls away 2:05
The fashions! Wish we dress like this still
How about the cars? Wish cars had style like back then.
@@firenze5555 sorry bro not into automobiles
You can dress in a suit more often!
This movie is a classic; great story line, wonderful cast, and of course Hitchcock

Isn't the secretary the same woman from the diner in "The Birds" who was freaking out at Melanie Daniels, blaming her for the attack?
