Task Force 145 is one of the most secretive and deadly tier one special operations joint task forces ever created. Forged after the 2003 Iraq invasion, Task Force 145 was relied upon by the Joint Special Operations Command to execute fast-paced, high stakes missions in pursuit of a very important manhunt.
The units that made up Task Force 145 ranged from Delta Force, SEAL Team 6, Special Air Service, MI6, CIA Special Activities Center, and a whole slew of others. This joint U.S.-U.K Task Force underwent some of the most awe inspiring missions the world has ever seen. But why was Task Force 145 stood up? What was it specifically created to do? And just how capable was it?
This is the story of Task Force 145.

So Tom Clancy predicted the future yet again… He wrote a “little” novel in the 90’s about the best SOF operators in the world being joined together into one special tier one unit called Rainbow. The novel was called Rainbow Six…🤯
This most definitely was not like that, these task forces don’t operate in the way people think

That mission pace is unreal. I operated combat recovery on approximately 100 combat missions in 15 months, and I thought that was a bunch. 145 is the highest speed/lowest drag.

They are in Africa right now and they got into a skirmish with Wagner a few years ago. The K/D was about 300/0 a couple of operators were injured from things like burning your hand on your red hot barrel, falling off the back of a vehicle in the dark, etc, but no deaths.
Leaving politics aside I absolutely love 13 hours in Benghazi. Michael Bay would do a brilliant job at doing a film about that skirmish. Be a fantastic action film about the men on the ground. Paul Greengrass would also be a good shout out to direct it.

@@Mr.Nobody1227 yea they were in our AO and different over watch positions kept asking them where they were going. They were in their black Suburbans so the different positions knew who they were, but they refused to answer the radio calls. I guess 145 finally got so annoyed that they said “this is TF 145. And we’ll tell you where we’re going IF we feel like it. So they said they were going down Easy street and Market street. Panther Xray advised that the route was black. We’re going anyway was their reply. They hit a complex attack and one of their vehicles was down and couldn’t self-recover. So 3rd ID sent the QRF to help. The U.S. military loves to make units that are "best of the best" and then after a while find a reason to make another unit that is now the "best of the best" DELTA is supposed to be the best but I wouldnt be surprised if they already havent gone the SEAL route and made another unit within DELTA thats the best of DELTA lol. The Recon Teams of MACVSOG (Special Forces, Rangers, Seals) in Vietnam were the most deadly units in American military history. Most of them didn't make it back home. Soldiers and Marines, today, couldn't survive one week without their modern technology.
Few random thoughts. Unblinking eye; I wonder if this is what Michael Hastings stumbled onto when he talked about that story of some operators storming a house that had no bad guys killing people and when they realized their mistake, digging the bullets out of the dead bodies before extracting. Jocko WIllink is married to a Brit and has talked repeatedly he was a gofer for a Admiral who worked at the Pentegon during the war, wonder if his job entailed collaborating with the Brits for the Task Force 145 and met his wife in the process and the stories he tells on the Pod are just legacy spook shit.
A QRF outfit from 3 BCT 4 ID gave those guys a ride out of there on June 7. Good times.
RANGERS LEAD THE WAY. The 75th is probably one of the most efficient and highly staffed SF unit in the world. They’re the backbone to almost all missions involving operators.
They aren't Special Forces. They are Special Operations. The only Special Forces in the Military are Instructors everybody else is Special Operations.
@@edgizinski5528thank you
The concept of these “Task Forces” was a new thing in the GWOT. Al Qaeda was a global brand with off shoot groups in over 120 different countries and Special Operations Units by themselves were not big enough in man power to target them.. That’s why modern task Forces were created and combined so many different organizations.. Stanley McCrystal changed the game in how we fight global networks.
The Germans used kampfgruppe (battle groups) in WW2 for similar reasons. It's really nothing new.
@@blakekenley1000 …LOL Joint interagency/military task forces are nothing like what the Germans used in WW2.. Absolutely ridiculous comparison.. The earliest example of modern Task Forces goes back to Bosnia 1990s where Special Operations and the the intelligence communities cross pollinated and consolidated capabilities, assets, logistics and resources.

Can you do a video on task force 626? The predecessor, TF 145.
Those guys paid us a visit while in Iraq. We jokingly called ourselves, E535, since we were Echo Co. 2/1.
He graduated SWCC' too. All 3 of them are him.
I was in Baghdad when they got zarqawi.
I was in the air between Balad and BIAP when TF 145 became TF 121 so I didn't get the memo. When I arrived at BIAP and identified myself as 145 they wouldn't let me enter the compound so I got to spend the night under a picnic table in a sand storm until the next morning when some phone calls could be made.
Damn. Sounds like these guys could have single handedly ended the GWOT if they were expanded and fully let loose
They could’ve easily. But that wouldn’t be in the interest of those evil creatures we have in the government who financially were greatly gaining from it. Thats the only reason it’s lasting to this day!

There was actually some support from 10th mountain and also AF Security Forces 820th in some of these missions. Just had to make sure they got a shout out. Don't ask me how I know. Great video though!
They had support from me as well. Not sure what good it did them but it cost me nothing didn’t have to do anything
Agreed, they bailed us out on one occasion.
AF Security opened the gate and occasionally asked us to do a FOD check before we drove out to the helos, if we happened to be at a base run by the Air Force. They had no further involvement with the command and none lived at JSOC. 10th Mtn was the battlespace owner in some cases so it was more like we supported their mission but yeah...
@@nmbr5ml exactly, but don't ask me how I know lmao. They actually had support from the Air Force cooks and band, don't ask me how I know. Just had to make sure they got a shout out!
@@nmbr5mlI can not tell you how many times the 10 Mtn tried pulling rank on us in Bagram for hangars, supplies etc. Their command was the most arrogant I ever saw. To my knowledge they never help THE Taskforce.
So basically Task Force 141.
Somethings need to be cleared up here. These TF’s DONT operate like the video game, SAS and delta dues arent chilling together in the same squads. Essentially JSOC pulls multiple units under its umbrella and uses them how it needs but often the units work independently, except for the case of Rangers and CAG doing direct action work. This isn’t like price and Griggs and some other guys in the same squad, the units are used unilaterally for the most part.
Even back in 2017 JSOC still did this, I was apart of TF20 with Ranger regiment, it consists of us, RRC, JTACS, PJ support as well as CIA assets, CAG was largely out of the country at that point and Ranger regiment was the primary strike force for Afghanistan. The reason rangers don’t work with SEALs and Green berets very much overseas is because we’re typically tasked under JSOC for their missions.
Just wanted to clear this up, these task forces don’t operate how people are thinking, not one big conglomerate of units in Squad. JSOC just tasks them out and often uses partner forces, but the primary reason for these TF’s is to put Rangers and CAG in direct action role with PJ/JTAC support, RRC units for intel and CIA assets as well as 160 air assets. But everyone isn’t in some super God squad like COD
We worked with these guys. They had some awesome gear.
300 raids a month is crazy
1 per hour, weekends off, no lunchbreaks though, sounds like a nice office job, we can do this..
