When Hideo Kojima was making MGS1 he managed to do a deep interview with 2 Delta Force operators. He asked them what group is the most elite and they mentioned the ISA. The operators requested that if he was going to use this information for the game, he should make it fantastical enough to not be relatable. Makes you think why he chose to name an invisible cyborg ninja "Grey Fox".

That is not how it was, when i was in; Nor do is it that way today (unless You mean 'Elite' in a dif. way). 1st Detachment is the Most Elite, Period, when it comes to planning and executing missions "Operations" in the popular sense (Not meaning like Seal T6 movies, egotistical; but getting It Done quick and the Cleanest, the Most Precision. When it comes to gathering that Intel, thennn, i do agree! And there is a real sense [esp. In the S.O.F. 'Community'] that they are the most Elite, I that sense. If i, having worked with all These Men, were taken hostage it is Not Even Close on who i would want [and need]; Send 1st Dt, Delta Force, period.

When I was in the Army, there was a rumor that there was an off-the-books unit funded and controlled by the original G7 countries. Based on some island off the coast of Japan with personnel from the G7’s SF units and they were more or less ghosts as their personnel files were put under lock and key. Supposedly, the only people that knew of this unit were the heads of state, top intelligence director, the top military officer and the top foreign affairs officer. Primary mission was to go into “potential economic” trouble spots before the G7 economies could be effected adversely. Like I said, just a rumor. But, it does make you think.

It’s not illogical and honestly makes sense. I mean if you really just embrace the free market attitude on a global scale and don’t engage in any kind of intervention well there could be some bad domino effects you have no way of controlling. At the same time no G7 country would want to admit to manipulating situations to favor their economic interests. So off the books unit that goes in and ‘fixes’ things makes a ton of sense.

Have you ever heard of the "Malacca Dilemma?" Afghanistan was more than just "fighting terrorism," as it opened the doors to many organizations, allowing the US to exercise plausible deniability in proxy warfare. Look up Gwadar port on March 20th, 2024. Somehow, a group that was dormant in 2011 due to a lack of fund and equipment became reactivated 7 years later to target 2 Chinese engineers in Pakistan (2018), the Chinese Consulate in Karachi (2018), Gwadar's Pearl Continental Hotel (2019), and Pakistan's stock exchange (2020), and recently, Gwadar Port (2024).
This may not have anything to do with your supposed group, but it's certainly plausible (beyond plausible imo) that the US has top-secret groups used to quickly fund, train, and supply militant groups when the need arises, and that US involvement in Afghanistan/Iraq are for long-term strategic interests (I have heard rumors that Iraq is a staging ground for our eventual invasion into Iran).

Being a Paramilitary, is different than regular military.
Special forces are largely independent and the officers get a lot more flexibility when integrating strategies into a unit, so for that reason, they can vary wildly.
A good portion of these operators are from the regular military, but some arent, and so can get into some pretty unorthodox situations, tactics, and technological developments because of that.

ISA specializes in the role of Advance Force Operations in clandestine environments. Early GWOT when we were heavily involved in Afghanistan and Iraq, ISA and the OGAs were some of 1st units that were tasked with going outside those countries and going into places like North Africa and the Levant to develop intelligence on where foreign Al Qaeda fighters were getting radicalized, trained and smuggled into Syria. Another example was the IED threat in Iraq becoming unmanageable. JSOC was hitting IED makers houses every night and it didn’t matter how many they killed, they would just set up shop again and continue to kill American soldiers. The ISA was the organization that realized they had to target the supply chain of the components of the IEDs themselves, going after the materials and the teachers who were training fighters how to construct IEDs. This had ISA operatives deploying all over the world to solve that problem set, and coming up with creative, out side the box solutions to eradicate that problem.

@@GeneralDischarge The term Tier One is unofficial, but has been defined by many as a level of funding and training. Tier One does not actually mean the unit is a part of JSOC, but basically every Tier One unit we know is apart of JSOC. Tier One units can be from other countries, but in the world of America - refers to a unit, which conducts special operations via the highest priority funding and training that a unit can get. For example, Detachment Delta gets a LOT of funding from the government and some of the best training in the world so it is considered a Tier One unit. But, using this definition, the Special Operations Group of the Central Intelligence Agency can also be defined as a Tier One unit! You made a different video 6 months ago titled "Inside Eight of the World's ELITE Tier One Units" so you actually contradicted yourself and got it right the first time.
