I walked 10,000 steps per day for a year so you don’t have to.

- How many steps per day?
10k steps was originally a marketing ploy. Science says 7k steps per day can benefit you just the same.
The point is to move throughout the day. Look for little ways throughout your day to get extra steps in!

I walked 10k a day also as I saw good results from it. Belly fat goes down, leg fat goes down and it helps tighten the skin on my body.
@@Pidgeys thanks.
I walked 35000 steps the other day (18.87mi) and I been walking about 12-15k a day, in the past month I’ve lost about 15 pounds
Yup it's not bs
@@iamwhoyousayiam6773Why would it be bs. You’re burning calories
@@jd0879 I was adding positive emphasis, not implying it shouldn't work...
My job involves walking a lot. I think I walk over 15k steps a day with my job alone. In the evening I go to the gym to lift weights and all so I really dont need to walk on treadmill.
Wow! Awesome. You have the walking covered, then.
broke boy
@@MJfromdaO Excuse me, I get paid well for being a waiter in a 4 star hotel in the middle of a busy crowded city. Sometimes I walk more than 25k steps.
@@Reachland02 that's too many steps 8-12 is the sweet spot with weight training you will lose too much weight, anyway as long as you are satisfied monetarily and sexually all is ok
@@MJfromdaO As a waiter in a 4 star hotel, I don't get to sit more than 15 mins. Tbh, I don't feel like I walk a lot as I'm used to walking for hours during my work shift for years. At first it was actually exhasting but now im used to it and im not changing my job anytime soon as my boss and people working with me are all good people and I get paid well. At the gym, I do yoga and lift weights for up to 50 mins and you're right... im not muscular but I feel like im strong physically and mentally.
I walk 30,000 steps a day and run twice a day. Lift weights, and im close to hit the -70 lbs mark. Coming from someone who was 260 lbs 6 months ago to my current weight of 197 lbs, this is the best I've felt in years.
Amazing🎉
How do you stay motivated.. with job
@kritikasingh7992 I set myself an exact routine and stick too it. I started off doing light exercises and walking and I just gradually progressed and it became easier as I went along. I also work out 5 days a week. Saturdays and Sundays I will walk about 15-20 miles per day but I won't lift or run.
I started walking everyday last week over 1-3 hours and feel way better
I am walking 13000 steps a day, since 5 years. I am brisk, happy, stress free entire day😊
wow! awesome consistency.
me to since 2014 ... bahot relax lagta hai ❤ 13-15k to chalna he chahiye subah or evening me min 5k ❤
ok butter chicken
Personal question if you don't mind; were you depressed or have anxiety before you started walking daily? I'm starting to walk more in my job again. Trying to walk on my days off as well
12 her shift as a cna will get you walking 10k by noon 😂
Yes
I walk .63 of a mile around a lake 5-6 times a week and it changed everything in my life .
7000 calories burn - 1KG weight lose
I have an admin job where I’m stuck at my computer for at least 8 hours a day. I feel sluggish as hell after having previous jobs where I’d walk a lot. I’m trying to get my steps up as much as possible but it’s so hard!
Would it be possible to get a walking desk?
You can take short breaks and walk in place.
@@marcusfilly I do have one. Trying to use the standing up option regularly 😊
Walk to work ? Or park half way then walk!
If you feel sluggish, maybe try intermittent fasting? I started doing it daily recently but broke it yesterday
I do 10000 steps just to live my life and I would call this alone active. I do workout in the gym and do cardio.
I don't understand how people live well under 10000 steps.
10,000 steps walking is an hour and a half at my rate. 7 k is more doable obviously.
Even 7K steps has a huge benefit.
I love the "even if you don't keep score" part
I love what you do Marcus!!! You motivate us trainers! We need motivation too!!!
I appreciate that!
Finally someone says it! Thank you for putting this out there
I'm going to do 20k a day for the month of May. Normal day 10-12 on a weekday, 3-5k on Sunday
6'0" 237 lbs, hoping to drop 10-20 lbs for the month!!
How's it going? How are the rest days?
Going great, down 11 lbs@@iamwhoyousayiam6773
Moving around? Cleaning your house. Washing a car through your garden. Pick up something. Do a quick lunge instead of thinking about how much walk you need to do
I do long hikes now. Started with 4-5 miles of walking a day a few years ago. Now I go on 10-15 miles walks/hikes twice a week.
Walking continuously for 30 minutes is an average of at least 4,000 steps. That’s not including the walking that you do at home or on the job. Walking for a half hour everyday and eating right will get you in shape.
Walking + nutrition = long term success 🙌
At least 4k steps in 30 minutes of walking? I've done 3.5k steps with fast pace walking. You must be jogging to get 4k in 30 minutes lol.
@@3ofus135same me doing a 30 minute inclined threadmill walk gets me around 3000-3200 steps
@@3ofus135fr. Fast pace is 1-1.5k steps max per 10 mins.
First day of running 10k
Day 1 bottom of my feet hurt a little but everything else is fine
Day 28 got used to my feet hurting still stings a little but I will keep going
I don't think your feet should hurt at all... Maybe you need arches and/or bigger shoes or they'll hurt less if you lose a lot
Get comfortable trainers😊

What kind of watch have you. Is it water proof
Is the 10,000 steps total or on top of weight lifting steps ?
ATG lunges at the end 🔥🔥🔥
I love your content. It’s my top 3 on utube. I am a big crossFit guy but having foot pain. What do you walk, hike, lift, or run in or CrossFit in?!
Instead of watching my kids play, I simply get up and play with them. It's easy steps and we actually have grown closer too! Win win.
Nice!
Dude ur build is perfect 🤩
Thank you for your kind words.
I run 11-12k steps per day for some time now I used to hate it and think it's so boring
But it now is just... Relaxing
I walk 10k steps at school just getting to and from classes and at lunch and then after school i walk another 10k steps so momday to friday i do 20k steps and on weekends i do 10k to 15k steps lol
I walk 20-25k a day and burn around 5-6k calories
Even if you do walk 10k steps and still eat junk, you will gain weight anyway. I was working in Amazon part-time for 9 months doing manual labor, and still managed to gain 10kg during that time because of all the fast food on the way back from work. Now trying to keep the weight off through proper nutrition
If you eat garbage gotta walk 15-20k a day will erase it
Good work, keep it up!
i have a loop i take which afterwards i also go down a sidestreet; which makes it so i have 7.2 km walk i can do which gets me 10k steps
Great advise!
Glad it was helpful!
I did in the neighborhood road for 5 miles 2 days ago in Florida and about died. The road and neighborhood is incredibly hot compared to walking in nature trails. I almost started throwing up and felll mules from my house lol.
If your in florida night and early morning DO NOT TRY MID DAY😂
The wifi is strongest with this one
😊✨
What people need to understand is, eventually 10k steps stops helping weight loss if they diet isn’t there. I no longer lost weight and i just maintained my weight until changed my diet
Walk OUTSIDE; like on a path or in the woods the article says.
I walked 20.000 to 25.000 steps a day at work out of stress for more than a year. What did I get? anxiousness and feet pain.
This is Toxic… get you some on cloud sneakers and take deep breaths❣️
😂😂😂😂😂😂

I see people get dropped off at the front of the grocery store a lot at stores like Walmart here. It’s funny how some can’t be bothered to walk an extra 200 steps
I am curious how many miles and how long time wise it took you to get to 10k every time you walked? Thanks
10k steps is about 90-120mins of total walking throughout your day
I can get there with 60mins of focused walking and then just being mindful to get up and move more in my day
Hi thanks for the reply. It seems like a little longer for me because I am very tall and I my step lengths are more than 2 feet (26-28 inches). I also walk fast around 18-20 min mile avg, so for me to walk 2 hours a day straight I am exhausted after to try to complete 10K steps. I believe my avg mph walking speed is close to 3 mph from what I have been tracking. The only way I could see myself doing this at one time is to walk very slow in theory leading to more steps, but I really like walking fast and am used to it. I just can't see myself waking 2 hours a day and especially in the hot weather RN. What is your opinion or tips on how I can achieve this 10K steps? Thanks @@marcusfilly
It's approximately 5 miles a day
Man..10K per day is child's play. I get 20-25K per day on average because I'm a personal trainer, part-time dog walker, and outdoor lover.
That doesn't even include full body lifting 3x per week, formal cardio 2x per week, or all of the mobility/stretching work I do every single day. 😂
**The only benefit to having such a high BMR and insane level of NEAT is I can eat 5K cals per day and maintain under 15% bodyfat year round.
I went from a 33 waist to a 32 in 3 months that's including a good diet
True but 10k steps is 8km/5 miles in distance. That is plenty to be hitting consistently everyday.
You skipping 😭
My job requires me to walk all the time any where from 8 to 13 or if I'm really busy about 16 to 18k steps
Are you fit?
Yes and no I can walk almost none stop for miles I can ride a bike 30 to 40 miles so fit in movement not so much in other stuff but I am changing that going back to working out again and a new diet I used to be able to hold 100 to 150 pound on my shoulders and walk around I'd go hiking with 50 to 60 pound backpacks to Increase my durability anywhere from 3 to 12 miles
7000 steps a day and get rid of that ponytail!
I do 17000 steps every day 😂
I move 30 to 40k 5 days a week I don’t think I need to on the weekends my job keeps me active enough
good lord. what is your job?
@@marcusfillyshipping I load trucks all day in the furniture industry it’s like couch cushions and backs and flatwork luckily my company just supplies parts of couches not the assembly products and everything is on wooden buggies but on the bright side in the first 6 months of the year I went from 300ib to 260 with out trying and now that I am trying I’m down to 228ib and going to the gym after work every day so I’m pretty sure 30ib in 3 months is great but idk
Just go work at a warehouse. You’ll lose weight from the Walking, stress and drama
Actually, the stress hormone cortisol will prevent you from losing weight. So no that doesn't work.
Must be nice not having to wear a t-shirt all day long
Wait what this Is a challenge I walk at least 8-9k steps a day
Awesome, you're ahead of the game!
@marcusfilly how long does it take 10k steps?

Im a pro walker. No really.
I walk 20k everyday for the past 6 years.
I do miss days occasionally, but i make up for it other days. Even hit 100k steps in a day a few times recently. I feel so good. Was so depressed and out of shape. Now i breathe excellence.
Wow!! I would love to walk that much the most I did was 15000. Whole lo g does that take you? I need tips. I would love to achieve this.
@@TheYoli182 I normally spend about 3-4 hours a day walking. One of the most effective tools that helped me achieve this was tracking my steps. If you dont track your steps, its far more difficult to improve how many steps you take a day. I keep my phone on me that has a built in tracker, but a couple years ago i used a fitbit watch. It made me feel so much more accomplished seeing the number of steps I took. (I still check my step count Every Night lol)
100k in a day!!! How do you manage that?
So i dont have to?? Lol. Weird way to put it.. we all should walk 10k
Tízezer lépés
Look at that body lol he probably does 20k steps/day
Eh its a decent way to burn 500 extra calories without really trying as long as you're moving throughout the day.
