Nice list For me Asylum: Atmosphere City: I am going to say best premise - the opening with Strange was amazing but the story kinda falls away when the joker blood plot arrives. Origins: Best boss fights Knight: Best gameplay yup can't be denied Shadow: Best story: every other Arkham game is in a crazy rush this game takes its time.
Asylum: Best atmosphere with how claustrophobic, isolated, and eerie it feels (Origins is also great in atmosphere in how dark it feels). Its story also pretty much gives almost all its villains a good enough amount of screen time. City: Feels the most balanced out of the Arkham games such as the side missions not feeling too long. Also has the best ending to the story and probably is the sequel game that improves upon the previous game the best such as with the amount of abilities. Origins: Explores the characters the best such as Batman learning to work with others and the relationships Batman has with Joker, Alfred, and Gordon. Also has the best DLC in Cold Cold Heart, best looking cutscenes in the story, and takes place in the best time of the year: Christmas. Knight: Best combat with how fast and fluid it is. Also best graphics in the series hands down and best open world.
For me Asylum: agree it has best atmosphere/vibe. City: the best overall, well rounded, and designed game. It perfectly delivered on all its concepts. Origins: This game personally has my favorite story. Batman is awesome and flawed. Love his relationship with Alfred, and I also love the Christmas atmosphere, and that you can just chill in the bat cave with Alfred, it didn’t take anything away from City, it just added in terms of gameplay. But it’s not as polished as the other games (so I’d love a remaster to add some extra life to the world, it’d be just about perfect in that case). Knight: this game is just awesome and huge. And I think its story is a lot better than people give it credit for. The concept of Batman and Joker merging is brilliant and makes for some of the best Batman/Joker stories period. And the gameplay and visuals across the board just rock. I haven’t played Arkham Shadow, I don’t have VR, but would like to some day!
At this point, I’d say Shadow has better atmosphere than Asylum because of how you walk on Batman’s boots and feels even more of what he feels, plus the prison sequence with Malone
Asylum had atmosphere, City had the most balanced batman (hitting on the ground, 5 takedowns in a row etc in Knight got kinda OP), Knight has the best overall and polished gameplay. I didn't play the others.
Batman Arkham origns: I loved the story, and the boss fights most Batman Arkham origns blackgate: I liked how the cutscenes looked like a comic the most Batman Arkham asylum: the atmosphere I liked the most Batman Arkham city: basically everything Batman Arkham knight: the hand to hand combat and stealth Sucide squad kills the justice league: character designs and look of open world, and I thought the story was interesting
I only played Arkham Shadow but it's the best game I have played in ages. Made me curious about the other games so thanks for this list.
