HOT TAKE: the customization in gotham knights is better then choosing skins like in the arkham series in my opinion. i just like to actually create my own suit
HOT TAKE: ARKHAM SHADOW has a better atmosphere for a prison than Asylum. They did Black Gate really well. While the map isn't as fun to navigate like Asylum. The VR aspect really helped to push the feelings that you are actually in Black Gate. Especially with each area made for a particular prison activity. Like Gym, infirmary, Max Security, Death Row etc.
I will give mine again I guess now that the Arkham Shadow is out and is getting good reviews its a bit more mild but I stand by the combat reached it's pinnacle in Arkham Knight and while you could add more "things" to it like gadgets and takedowns the core simplicity of the gameplay is at its best. This is why I think Shadow worked amazing because we kept the simplicity that makes the combat so great after all these years but from a whole new perspective with new controls.
This is an interesting subject. My Arkham hot takes are: 1)I loved Arkham Knight more than the other 3. I felt like each game in the series built on the last game and made it way way better. Whenever i look at Arkham reddit, I see that Knight isn't as loved as the rest of them but Knight was for me the best game in the series and one of the greatest games of all time. I'm not saying the game was perfect. No game is not even a masterpiece such as Witcher 3. But its flaws didn't make me not enjoy it. 2) Almost everyone hates how much we have to use Batmobile in Knight but I loved every second of it(wishfully that doesn't make me a psychopath XD) Other gaming hot takes: Sometimes when I play some acclaimed games, I do not enjoy them at all but I love some games that are mid or are hated by a lot of people 1)GTA 5. I thought i was going to play the best game of my entire life but honestly it was horrible. I forced myself to play it for 10 hours and I only did that cuz I spent a few nights downloading the 100gb game file. I played it on PS plus for free and i feel like it was still too much 2)It takes 2: while it was enjoyable at some points, it was not the masterpiece everyone claimed it would be. 3)Darksiders 3 is a divisive game especially among the fans for its use of Soulslike elements but I loved it. It had huge issues but considering the fact that it was developed by a small development team and a small budget, they made a pretty decent job. I kept postponing playing the game since because of the backlash but when I actually played it, I found them to be exaggerated. 3)Shadow of Mordor/War are usually considered great games, especially the first one with all the awards it won. I find them ok, not bad but not worthy of all the praise. Since the combat is similar to Arkham, I get to compare the 2 and they don't even come close in way. You keep doing the same thing over and over and over again till the end. And it gets boring real fast. 4)Wolfenstein Youngblood is considered pretty mid but I enjoyed it a lot. It had huge flaws but it wasn't as bad as everyone claimed it would be.
HOT TAKE: lego marvel superheroes is the best marvel game to exist. The story is amazing the character roaster is amazing the gameplay is amazing the soundtracks are amazing they are all 10 out of 10 for me
