Band maid has it all. So many styles, musicianship is great. It’s not just skills, which are amazing, but the way they create songs.

They're a pretty impressive hard rock band, definitely not the best of all time.

Band-Maid will add some English to their songs, not only for America, but also a lot of the rest of the world. They also parts (the sound la, for instance) in their songs so that the audience can sing along. They are very conscious of their audience. I’ll admit I was about to pass on your review after Warning but decided to try again. I’m glad I did. We don’t have to agree but hopefully appreciate the musicianship. Thanks for the review.

"Shut up!" is what they say at the end. There was criticism that they were a very "poppy" band so this song, filmed with a hand held 8mm camera, was the result. Not much criticism since, Po! BTW, the protagonist slow killed his victims and filmed it with a handheld 8mm camera to see if he could capture the victims soul leaving their bodies.

Thank you for reacting to Band-Maid, I agree with your assessment of Band-Maid. They are surely very talented musicians, all of them. If you love MISA's playing I would suggest a few songs from the album Unseen World, Manners, No God, After Life. I'm a bass player and MISA has been my inspiration since I discovered Band-Maid in early 2021. Please react to more Band-Maid, whatever you choose from their YT channel, you can't go wrong.

I reacted to around 10 or so of their songs on my other channel. This one was one of those. Those videos are all slowly being transitioned to this channel. I'm sure I will react to more from them as well.

Further, the concept of this video is based on the Japanese horror film "Rinne". They synopsis of the movie is of a man who records himself murdering people using an old 8mm camera (hence why the vid was filmed using Super 8mm). His intent was to see if if he could capture the soul leaving the body the moment the victim dies.

a quick 'Japanese lesson' (I don't speak it, but ... ) ... Japanese is a language that for the most part is short syllables all ending with a vowel sound. you can never go wrong reading Japanese by making each syllable as short as possible and ending with a vowel. for example, 'make' in English is one syllable ending in a 'k' sound: 'make' in Japanese would be pronounced 'ma ka', two short syllables both ending with a vowel sound.
that said, because of the lack of syllables ending in consonant sounds, Japanese songwriters usually try to mix in English words every now and then to keep the sound of the singing interesting.
Miku, the rhythm guitarist and backup vocalist, is the band's main lyricist, and is known for her Japanese poetry, and her ability to mix in the proper English words at the proper time, not just randomly throwing English words in every now and then. and of course Siaki, the lead singer has no problem singing these lyrics, although from what I hear singing like this is not as easy as one would think.

I can’t wait to see them in Seattle 10/12/22. This band sounds amazing to me! As you see by now there are no weak pillars in this band, all of them are on top of their game. I think it helps that they have been together for almost 10 years. This kind of song everyone has to be spot on and in sync for it to sound so good, and they do it well.

    Here is my translation
    Lyrics
    Translated by Laurence Bourke
    Taking my time
    ukabi kiete ochiru
Rising up , disappearing and falling,
    mainasu na rinne desu
a negative cycle of death and rebirth .
    okizari de meguri meguru
Round and round I go left out alone
kajō na shinri iya ni natte
I come to hate a surplus of philosophy ,
    iya ni natte wa ubaiatte
To come to hate it is to steal from one another. .
nani no tame ni naru no ?
For what reason could this be ?
    suketemiru himitsu nante
Secrets that are sē through ,
    Not more
    Stupid yeah
    Open your eyes
    tatoe iki todaete mo
Even if my breath were to stop
sekai wa nani ni mo kawaranai
the world wouldn't change one bit,
    I know .....
    sore ja owarenai yo
if that's so then it will never end,
    imi no nai ayamachi demo
    even meaningless faults
    haguruma o igamasero
warp the cogs of the gear,
    You know .....
    byōshin wa tomaranai
    the clock hand doesn't stop
    Get down
    That's enough
    tokenai samenai
    a life unsolvable , un - awakening .
    bunri shi fueru seimei ga
    separating and multiplying
    korogari mawari megure
    tumble and spins and spins
    doko made mo tōku e
to the farthest of far places.
    Go far away
    Go far away
    I should zip my lips
    kokoro urei o haite
Breath out the anguish in your heart
I'll leave it up to you
koe ga kikoeta ki ga shita
    I could've sworn I heard a voice .,,,
    Close your eyes
    tatoe yume ga owatte mo
Even should the dream come to an end
dare mo tasuke ni wa konai
no one will come to help
    I know .....
    kore ja nemurenai yo
if that is so , then no sleep for me
    akekureta seigi demo
Even all that justice I lived solely by .
    mohō ja nani mo umarenai
if it is copied then nothing is born.
    You know .....
    byōshin o buchikowashi
Smash the clock hand to pieces
    Get down
    Reincarnation
    Living and Dying
    Why ?
What do you live for ?
    tatoe koearagetemo
Even if I raise my voice
sekai wa nani ni mo sukuenai
the world is unable to give salvation.
    Honesty does not pay
    That makes no sense
    Open your eyes
    tatoe iki todaete mo
Even if my breath were to stop
sekai wa nani ni mo kawaranai
the world wouldn't change one bit,
    I know .....
    sore ja owarenai yo
if that is so then it will never end
    tokihanatte
    Release me !
    Get down
    It's sink or swim
    Shut up !

As I understand it, Japanese artists sometimes use words in foreign language as an artistic aspect. I know some, not Japanese, artist mixing in French words as well while singing otherwise in another language. Using a different language for some parts gives a different feel to the song.
If you saw domination live, which is a fantastic live performance, there is also a MV that you could compare with for reaction. Otherwise I think you would have great fun with the ”live” video with the two songs Manners and Black hole.
Band maid changed how I think about music.

A lot of Band-Maids songs are a mix of japanese/ english and as time goes by
you will get better at hearing it. Just as it requires multiple listens to absorb all
that is going on in a Band-Maid song ( Mincho is a savant at composition) the more
you will discover ... No Band on the planet like Band-Maid Po.
