Live Band Maid can't be beat. But these ladies are so talented that their MV's are way above the rest. Therefore you should really try From Now On, an instrumental. It features Kanami's guitar work. So you can really see how incredible she is.
Great reaction and the best quote from this reaction is..."That drummer is a f*ckin animal man". Yes, Akane's nickname is "The Gorilla". Jimmy Page saw Band-Maid play a number of years ago and was so impressed by Akane's playing that he asked to meet her backstage. At first Akane thought she was being pranked but there is a photo with both of them together. I don't really need to mention why this is a great endorsement of Akane's talent as a drummer.
Fellas - Fellas... Bravo! Good on you for skipping over the Band-Maid Reactors Starter Pack and diving right into the deep end of the pool with Rinne! On top of that also choosing the opening song of The Legendary Zepp Tokyo concert. Widely acknowledged as 1of Holy Trinity of recorded concerts along with Line Cube Shibuya and Studio Coast Shinkoba. I've seen hundreds of Band-Maid reactions and don't ever recall anyone using this clip. Nicely done, just one caveat - keep in mind their music largely falls under a Hard Rock with punk, power pop, metal and jazz influences. Not a true metal band if that's what you're looking for. Edit: This is the Line Cube Shibuya opening Zepp Tokyo opens up with Domination. My Bad. As punishment I will now go and watch both, to get my shit straight 😉
They will be on tour in the US this May and in August of 2023. They are doing several Outdoor festivals and small venues. I have tickets to see them in Detroit at St Andrews Hall and Columbus at Sonic Temple Fest. These shows are nearly sold out. They will be at Lollapaloosa on August 4th. Their live videos show them at their best: Play, Freedom, & Onset. The double video of "Manners/Black Hole" shows them doing groove based classic rock and then switching to pounding speedmetal (220 bpm!) Watch their latest instrumental, "From Now On" - crank up the volume and brace to be blown away. OTOH, I love their MV for Daydreaming which lets each of them showcase their talent. Band-Maid will surprise you: there is no "typical Band-Maid style" and a typical response is: "Oh! I wasn't expecting that!" followed by "That was really good!" The guitarists are equally talented on both acoustic and electric guitars. Both vocalists are brilliant, particularly Saiki who has incredible breath control. And of course the bass player and the drummer are both consummate performers. Band-Maid is the real deal.
Rin Neh meaning Reincarnation. And the Drummer Akane, her nickname is "Gorilla" Kanami the lead guitarist normally has her guitar lower in the mix both in the studio and live to not overpower the other instruments. It is a conscious choice on her part. Trust me ALL of us hope she would turn up her amp a little bit more. The 2 best concerts for sound are Shinkiba Studio Coast in 2017 and Zepp Tokyo in 2018. And the Ladies have just been added to Lollapalooza in Chicago. Other songs I would suggest are from those 2 BEST sounding concerts. Moratorium from SC (Studio Coast), Puzzle from SC, Puzzle Acoustic from Zepp (Zepp Tokyo), Matchless GUM from SC, YOLO from SC, Take Me Higher!! from SC, Don't you tell ME from Zepp, Daydreaming from Zepp, Fate from Zepp, Carry on living from Zepp. There are many many many more. the Ladies currently have over 120 songs they have recorded and released, quite a few with alternate versions, from their Band Maiko iteration to acoustic versions and versions with alternate intros, breakdowns and solos.
Great reaction guys! Band-Maid fans are the greatest in the world, but they're not right about everything. You guys would LOVE the Official MV of this song because you can HEAR it. The best part of the version you reacted to is the unique intro before the song. The fans are right about the Official Live of "Domination", when you get to it you'll notice the extended breakdown in the middle. Worth the price of admission. They're fantastic live, I saw them in Dallas last October, but some of the MVs are the best versions. "Blooming" Official MV is a must watch for guys like you. "Warning" too, probably. Thanks for the reaction!
Yep - that rhythm section is something special! I especially love that halftime piece towards the end of the song. So many good songs! "From Now On" is next.
This was Band Maid's opening number for their Line Cube Shibuya show. Other official live videos from this show include Domination, Freedom, Play, and Wonderland. Yep, most listeners don't like the mix. But their beautiful rock music still shines/blasts through! They are back to touring the US in May (9 shows I think), mostly in the southeast. And some festivals this summer including just announced Lollapalooza. DO NOT miss a chance to see Band Maid live!! Simply amazing. Looking forward to more BM reactions. Thanks
If Band-Maid isn't ripping your face off (Rinne, No God, Black Hole), they're soothing your soul (Manners, Daydreaming, Memorable). Their music does what great music is supposed to do... move you, if only for a moment, into another realm. What more could you ask for from a Band of incredible Maids?! Thank you Guys, for bringing your viewers into the Band-Maid experience.
Your pronunciation was spot on. For future songs if there is a music video and a live performance, you might as well check out both assuming you like the song. For example, Band-Maid's Warning MV sounds better than their live while everyone agrees Domination sounds better live. And some songs might only have one or the other or even different renditions like a Band-Maiko like Secret My Lips / Secret Maiko Lips or acoustic version like Puzzle.
This, by far, is their best show opener to date. 🦍🍌 They will be here in the US in May starting in Houston and Austin, rounding the SEC region, then Detroit, Columbus and St. Louis. Then, again, they will be back in August, hopefully, touring the West, I.e., Vegas and, of course LA (HoB Anaheim, perhaps).
Nice video! I think you should do the official live version of Domination, the song must be redeemed. It's night and day compared to the mv. Also No God and Black Hole (the official live video has Manners first, 2 for 1). Freedom is also a must. Not really heavy but you'll never see a band enjoying themselves more onstage. Also killer solos.
BAND -MAID despite their petite frames are champion heavyweight rock and roll cage fighters, Akane on drums and Misa on bass are locked and loaded they know instinctively how to support each other and the rest of the band plus importantly compliment the song. Yup Maidiacs will correct you 😊 but in the nicest of ways because that's what BM would expect. Cheers from Australia. What a fcken band Viva the Maids peace and love Po 👍🎼🥁🎸🎤🍻
Great find ! Band Maid's response to a comment saying they has become to poppy ! Hence the Shut Up at the end. The mix in this concert is always a complaint, Kanami's guitar is always too soft but she might have a say in this too as she dosen't like to overshadow any other members, even if we, the fans, want to blast out to the heavens ! Maybe try Onset live, it's an instrumental so of course Kanami's guitar shines. Enjoy your Band Maid journey !
Rinne is the first song of this live, the next is "Blooming", if you go for this song next try the live version ua-cam.com/video/JvQ-Ng74Mw4/v-deo.html, the official MV is a steroid version too, it ruin every live version they do, as much as I like the MV I prefer to listen the live version. I suggest "Screaming" ua-cam.com/video/uuj67T-XtLA/v-deo.html this one come after "Blooming" in the same live, is one of my favorites.
There are some Band-Maid songs that have no live video or an MV. I'm sure the Maidiac's on a case by case basis will let you know. 😏❤️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘 Try " Play, " live.
I saw Nemophila this month and it was one of the loudest shows I’ve ever been to. But none of their songs made my heart cave in the way Band-Maid’s “Moratorium” did when I saw them last year. If you can find the official live video, react to it. Oh, and don’t avoid the music videos. The mvs for Different and Warning are musts if you want insane Akane drums (and better than the lives)
Good reaction, as a recommendation it would be the comparison of a specific song but what varies is the instruments that were added, as a joke for April Fool's Day years ago Band-Maid became Band-Maiko and they made an album adding traditional Japanese instruments, the song that I recommend is "SECRET MAIKO LIPS" and its counterpart "Secret My Lips" live version.
For their older live concert films, they seemed to just use the audio straight from the desk, but for this one they seemed to have mic'd the room to get more of the crowd noise. The bass punches through it fine, but I think the higher guitar leads don't as well.
Yes, they are fabulous live. Next...Onset live...it's a instrumental. May '23...Houston, Austin, Daytona(Rockville Fest), Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, Detroit, Columbus Oh(festival), St Louis(festival). August '23...Lollapalooza, solo dates/cities to come

Yes, live is the go for these girls. But 2 songs are better with studio clips, as for some reason the mixes in these 2 have not topped the live mixes. those 2 songs are DICE and Riine. but glad i saw this anyway. Good going guys , loving your review style. how About Us, a live stream and Freedom with killer drum solo, live of course.
Drummer Akane and Bassist MISA went to the same music school and were once in the back-up band for the lame-ass no-tarento J-Pop singer, Becky. Miku rescued them from J-Pop tedium and made them the best live rhythm section in rock music on the planet.
They do have some good MV that you could also watch such as Warning, Influencer, Unleash, and From Now On, but regardless, there are no misses with Band-Maid. I think you would appreciate Play live.
Or I would say "Blooming" the music video that's a good song to but they have like over 100 or more songs From the live or music video and even songs that don't have a music video or live that are bangers
Freedom Live has a great Drumm Solo by Akane , and one of the best Transitions after that , leading to a Guitar Solo , that I heard in Years. Maybe you could check out Gacharic Spin " I wish I " , guess you will like it.

Some Band Maid MV's are perfectly fine or better than the (available) live videos, just because recording live can be tricky sometimes. Like, I'd go ahead and watch the official MVs for Warning, Blooming and From Now On.
Band Maid is amazing live😍😎 but they have some really good music videos too. So it is okay to react to their music videos😄 But their official live ones are epic.
Nice reaction, Band Maid is great live, the mix was not very good, in this case probably the official music video would be a better choice over the live version, atleast to get an understanding of musically how this song is laid out. I am enjoying your comments, have subscribed, There are plenty more great Band Maid songs for you guys to check out!
Actually 'Renne' is one where the OMV is better than the LIVE, but also 'Blooming'. However, because the Japanese Horror movie from which it gets it's name used 8mm film, so did the MV. Though I think I spoke too soon. This version is actually pretty good too, or at least better than the one I was thinking of, which was a Live-To-Tape condensed version for a television show. You should go back and look at the LIVE version of 'Domination' to see just how different that is LIVE. But also try 'Real Existence' LIVE It's a banger! It's doesn't have as much crowd interaction as 'Domination' LIVE, but since it didn't have room mics for the audience participation the mix is much tighter. Other more Metal influenced BAND-MAID songs are 'Different', 'Black Hole' and the instrumental, 'From Now On'.
The official live videos are great but so are the official MVs and they are well made with great sound so I would recommend doing either live or MV and not worry about having to always do live. I will be going to see Band-Maid in Austin, Tx in May and I am beyond excited, I saw Nemophila in Dallas a couple weeks ago and they sounded great and they put on a fun rocking show.
Since there’s only four video feeds, i’m confused as to why you didn’t just put the video youre all reacting to in the bottom left to have everyone unobstructed lol, that aside great video ❤
Many fans think that this live version lack the power of the MV. The MV is an steroid version of the song, is good that you listened this version first.
Don’t take the “only live!” thing to an extreme. It’s true they are better live, but you aren’t always going to find great live versions of every song… especially not on UA-cam. So, don’t skip an amazing song like “Blooming”, for instance, just because it’s an MV on their channel. Also, some MV’s are too cool to miss… like “Warning”, even though they have a live version on their channel (online show, so a different live energy anyway). I did just check, and you did “Domination” MV… and that’s one case where the live isn’t just better, it’s 1,000 times better!
I feel possibly the sound was diluted from the person that posted it here on UA-cam since it's NOT an official Band-Maid release. He maybe did this to avoid copyright hits. It was flat sounding, though this 2020 concert wasn't the best mix to begin with but better than this. The 2017 and 2018 Zepp Tokyo concerts were fantastic mixes. Going forward stick with the Official videos from Band-Maid's channel.
The original mix is like that, but if you look in the dark corners of internet you can fin the remix version, yet it still the Kanami guitar is down but more enhanced than the original mix.
@@hernantapia2180 My understanding from other commenters over the years is the crew mixed this concert from the speakers and not the board, like at the two Zepp Tokyo shows, which are great mixes IMHO. I have this Blue Ray concert and it's not bad, I was disappointed in the mix but it's funny whereas some songs sound good and some are muddy. I'm not an engineer but I know what sounds good and what doesn't.
In general, BAND-MAID is better with live version, but RINNE, DICE, Warning, etc. are better with MV. In my opinion these live recordings have a hard to hear guitar riff due to the mix. It would be a shame not to watch these MVs. How about listening to both and comparing them? Alone is almost even. By the way, RINNE (reincarnation) and YOLO (you only life once) are like two sides of the same coin. How about listening to and comparing this MV?
i know band maid is always awesome live but i cant help but cringe when i see a live version to this. the MV will always hold a place in my heart. but this is the better live version

You will get way more views if you do the MV and the live version 😉
Most of Japanese bands are better live, but it good when you guys do both maybe the two on the same reaction. Good job guys.
Since there’s only four video feeds, i’m confused as to why you didn’t just put the video youre all reacting to in the bottom left to have everyone unobstructed lol, that aside great video ❤
You know, no one has suggested that before. May have to give that a shot and see how it looks
Tips. Japanese「輪廻(Rinne)」: Reincarnation

I tapped the link you provided but I don't recognize it. Hope you got my response.

Many fans think that this live version lack the power of the MV. The MV is an steroid version of the song, is good that you listened this version first.
Please react to Mastodon or Soen!
Japanese hard rock Lilith Fair? Ok, but you got to include The Warning. Take my $$$$ please!
No god live from Band Maid
