I really like the giveaway vehicles you are doing all the time, I know I have entered a few times. Just a question have you guys ever thought of doing a giveaway conversion package? I know personally I have my Patrol set up the way I like touring and 4wdriving, but would enter more if I could win the chance to get a conversion done. Just a thought. Really enjoy watching the builds you guys do.
Hey mate, Thanks for the kind words, the thought has crossed my mind, but it makes it a very niche competition for only patrol owners if we did that. There may be a way we can run one off the side and once we hit a certain entrant car we draw it, but it could take a while to get there.
Just for people who aren't aware what a 4JJ1 motor is, it would be helpful to write ISUZU in the title? Not only that you'll gain a bigger audience as lots of UA-cam users in Thailand might like this!
I have been watching your videos and it actually looks possible to get a decent GQ and reco the engine and almost have a brand new machine ... but Im starting to think the cost may not be worth it?
Hey mate, Because people in any state can win, we don't engineer them, but we build the car in a way that it should be close if the winner wanted to get it engineered.
I'm assuming you keep the CAT, EGR and throttle body so the emissions gear isn't changed? Not every engineer will care but it is definitely something that could cause issues. Also I'm not sure about deleting the immobiliser and getting insurance?
Why not just use the 4jj1 gearbox the transfer case goes the right way and adapting drive shafts and gearbox mounts would be cheaper than a gearbox engine adapter
@@adventurecorp Which ones? There is so much coming out of Thailand and no way to know what's what. I'm pretty sure it's been proven the 44m turbos from Thailand have terrible imp:emp ratio. Hence my question on the new garret gbc range of turbos. Would be great to see some in-depth tuning videos with a bit of tech explanation to what goes on.
pretty sure theres "a" hilux from singapore or malaysia that is a 4jj swap naturally its a mud crawler and not really daily useable pretty much every collie ive seen from there is SAS and on like 35s so they're pretty impractical, those boys just like to see the rpms fly
Sounds like your stuck in time mate! The 4j is technically one of the best diesel engines in the 2-4L class of diesels in the world. Excellent economy, excellent strength, awesome parts availability, makes fantastic power. More torque our of the box than any factory GQ engine by 50%
All gq engines are trash comparatively. Power, strength, refinement, torque and depending on the gq and what crappy mods the poor things copped over the years, reliability.

The part when you say “hii” 😂😂😂

Do you guys generally recommend doing the timing chain on a higher mileage engine?
Only if it's noisey or the guides are worn. And if you go, ensure only genuine parts are used.
Fuck that’s a nice patrol I reckon the bloke that owns it is a legend
keen to see the 4j, will the giveaway rig be engineered/ road legal? cheers!

They are kept, just not bolted on.

Lads how did you clean up that gearbox? A raisin, chemical or did you just spray paint silver over the old crap? Cheers CB.
We use our trax degreaser from adventurecorp.com.au wicked stuff
Can a 4jj1 be swapped into a TB45 GU auto
Yes mate sure can
Which clutch brand do you use for all the extra power?
We use clutches from Performance tourers 4x4
Are you still doing the NP300 turbo upgrade?
Negative. If you want turbo upgrades for a nav, hit up DM motorsport.
What sort of emp do you see at 40psi on those turbos?
Have you tuned ant with a gbc22-350?
Not sure in this setup, it's something we will have to measure.
In Thailand they run 50+ psi, so I would imagine at 40psi it will survive.
Ok. What about the f44's you use regularly?
@@bennyjahmin3953 we just use proven setups, we didn't develop any of it so never really had the urge to test, but would be a good test to do anyway

Field service requires iced coffee and chicken wings

I'd say somewhere there is, we just haven't seen one
Are you guys still 4jj1 fans? Don’t see you guys plug them anymore on UA-cam
Absolutely! More videos coming soon!
