I love this pack! I literally get sucked into playing for hours. If I could only have three add-ons to the game it would be growing together, snowy escape, and parenthood. I just love the family aspect and seeing the sims build relationships with each other.
I'm so glad I found your channel. I laugh so hard at these videos. "Does it really add anything to your gameplay? Not really but it's a really good way to gaslight yourself." 🤣 You are just EXCELLENT at this UA-cam thing. Plus it was a very accurate, in depth review! EA's loss for not having you as a game changer.
10:38 Honestly I *believe* your reviews because you're not sponsored by EA. This should have been a basegame update. Asshole move from EA but nothing new sadly
I got a Sims 4 ad earlier and couldn't help but gasp, it was an ad for growing together, high school years and pets.... It was trying to sell me babies learning to crawl, teenagers going to school and animals for a LIFE SIMULATION game 💀 you'd have to pay around £90 to have basic game mechanics for a life simulation game
Its messed up isn't it? And we keep just falling into the same cycle over and over again and ea takes advantage of it 🙃 not enough people seem to understand they're in the cycle
I’m glad you called this out. At this point, I’ve put too much money and time into the sims4 to not buy packs with essential gameplay. But with the way EA treats it’s fans and is so obsessed with money, I honestly can’t support any future projects they have. Would I love a Sims5? YES! Will it possibly have any good features from past games? NO! Will I buy the Sims5 when it comes out? NO! It’s honestly funny how so many game franchises go through this same route: Make a cool, tongue-in-cheek game with a slight edge -> create a large fan base who are dedicated to the clever writing/good gameplay -> make sequels that slowly drain out the original charm -> gain more fans who just want to check out the new popular game -> make sequels more expensive with less content/more paywalls -> lose longtime fans who are reliable buyers -> release new sequel -> people who only bought it because it is popular and jaded former fans don’t buy it -> company loses millions and spends years trying to convince fans they can change back like a toxic ex.
This is the best review I have seen of this pack. Yes, because you reviewed it after playing with it the way it was intended. I also like the video editing. Wow, I'm feeling positive today. Thanks!
I love you so very much 😢and how your reviews are honest asf. Yours is the only one I wanted to watch. I literally WAITED for your review to come out cus I knew you weren’t gunna sit there and do nothing but boost their pack and make us buy it. You are my go to thank you !
As someone who grew up in the Bay Area suburbs, I can’t help but love the world, like there is absolutely nothing to do but I guess what I love about California is that everything is just a few hours drive away, so like you travel to the beach, snow, mountains etc, so I kinda like the world for that reason. I feel like I’m inspired to go out and visit other places then come home to my quiet suburban life. I’m completely biased tho because it feels like my childhood and I also am living for making the lots quake zones to traumatize my sims more
Everything you said is true! The pack looks essential but EA should've let the sims team take more time to include these features in the base game way back instead of rushing them to release an unfinished game.
I can see why this expansion wouldn't be for everyone, and I absolutely agree it should have been base game. That said, I'm really enjoying the addition to my occult family legacy game play. I do wish, however, there was more cross pack additions, like more vampire/werewolf/mermfolk etc., themed baby and kid items, as well as interactions between parents and infants. That might have made it feel more integrated into the existing game.
Considering half the content in this pack should have been base game, I'll wait for the cracked version. Also thank u for calling out other simmers for getting excited about the CAS finally being equal between genders and ages. It should be expected, not celebrated. EA is like the kid who does absolutely nothing but when they take their own plate to the sink everyone screams their praises
OH THANK GOD. FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT SHOULD'VE BEEN PARENTHOOD. I've been thinking it for days seeing other ppl play the game but COME ON the pack is literally just abt family and what is parenthood if not family stuff. I was honestly writing a comment about how this pack should've been parenthood but held off until the end of the video and I'm glad I did.
I just wanna give you a thank you. Because its refreshing to have someone give their raw and honest opinion about something, even if it can cost you some opportunities.
i have been waiting for THIS so much! Ever since Sims 3 I’ve only been playing with the same family and I take like a year (plus breaks) to move to a new generation. My save file is from 2019 and I NEEDED this.
Telling the Sims 4 team and EA how it is instead of fanboying over dressing up a doll???? Bless you. Edit* I'm sorry but i laughed at the title saying "Rational" i didn't mean to 😂
The reason I love this channel is Fake Gamer Girl's brutally honest reviews and opinions and no excusing the bull crap or being overly nice about the bare minimum, she feels like a real voice for the sims community and unfortunately I don't think sims youtubers like her will be game changers, because they're too honest for EA's liking. Plumbella I feel is as honest as she can be and I trust her reviews too, but it feels to me like the Game Changers either have to kiss EA's backside or tread a very fine line to not lose the Game Changer status, which isn't fair to them, how can they benefit the game if EA just wants them to be free, positive mouthpieces to advertise their stuff? I've noticed that pre order bonus items are becoming more of a thing and to get them you have to pre order during a time period before the Game Changers can get any reviews out, like they're trying to entice us into buying packs before we get to see if they actually work or are worth it 🤔
Your review is the first review I watch on the Sims. I also enjoy watching you play other games as I play a variety as well. I haven't watched other people's review of the Sims 4 DLC in a while but, if I do, it's after yours. I hope you have a dope n restful nap.
BIGGEST critique abt the pack is that its not exactly family oriented in the sense that parents cant do infant activities together, like only one parent can witness a milestone. just makes it feel so vapid
Why your opinion matters to me: You're literally the only simmer I watch anymore. I don't even play the game anymore but I still enjoy your content regarding it.

Great summary, thanks so much! You noted stuff I actually place value on, finally a review that actually let's me know what I might end up buying. Love your channel so much.
Love this review! EA absolutely shafted us with this pack. The way it was marketed made people forget infants weren't included, everything was linked back to infants. All the game play of teaching infants to sit up/crawl/ whatever SHOULD HAVE COME IN THE FREE UPDATE! It's not right. Basic play features should not be behind a paywall. Honestly if there was a way for me to get a full refund I would because I hate giving EA money
EA continuing to charge $60 for extremely basic features that should have been in the base game (or in the case of my wedding stories don't even work at all) is why I'll never pay for an expansion pack again 🏴☠
I literally just moved Xander from Buffy into the new world last night. Lol. I can agree. What in the world with so little of lots to build on? I don't like evicting other sims, but if I want more places to put sims, I have to evict others and bulldoze lots. 🤦♀

What bugs me about the infants in base game is that they don't even have the quirks, so they all feel too similar
Don't worry they feal similar with the pack anyways. There just potatos that have to eat until they grow up
I always appreciate your honest reviews and you make very good points! Thank you! :)
Im so glad you brought up the new world not looking ANYTHING like SF. Im from SF too and it’s so disappointing to see how BAD they did trying to take inspiration from the city and then executing it SOOOO poorly.
right?! like san fran has SO much culture and artistic influences in its design and activities, so they had so many different directions they could have gone in with the new worlds design...and instead they gave us willow creek 2.0...
I really want Growing together for the stuff that should’ve been in the basegame to begin with but I‘m waiting until it either goes on sale or until the guy I usually buy my packs from on eBay goes down with the price
ok no shade, but i honestly didnt know that people still used ebay after all these years lol.
How do you buy packs on eBay?
@@LlamasAtMidnight it’s either a physical disc (if they still make those) or you pay a seller for a code that you enter and it unlocks the game download on sites like steam or origin etc.
THANK YOU, someone finally said it. this gameplay content is really cool but it should have just been in the base game already (or at least in parenthood)
I love this pack! I literally get sucked into playing for hours. If I could only have three add-ons to the game it would be growing together, snowy escape, and parenthood. I just love the family aspect and seeing the sims build relationships with each other.
really? not even seasons? you would choose snowy escape over seasons? im shook tbh lol.
ITS ON SALW FOR 17 POUNDS
@@feyiawosika it should be 0 pounds...
@@kittielvr in maybe 10 years yes sure😭 I’ll take what I can get
@@feyiawosika you can get the game and all packs for free via pirating if you'd like, there are quite a few tutorials online :3
ooh girl, that last line gave me chills. thanks for always being honest and aware of how capitalistic the sims is.
NO!
It’s honestly funny how so many game franchises go through this same route:
Make a cool, tongue-in-cheek game with a slight edge -> create a large fan base who are dedicated to the clever writing/good gameplay -> make sequels that slowly drain out the original charm -> gain more fans who just want to check out the new popular game -> make sequels more expensive with less content/more paywalls -> lose longtime fans who are reliable buyers -> release new sequel -> people who only bought it because it is popular and jaded former fans don’t buy it -> company loses millions and spends years trying to convince fans they can change back like a toxic ex.
I try and get my sim to interact with the infact and they just end up staring at eachother for eternity.
"Considering I wear my daddy issues on my sleeve"
I snorted so hard I hurt my throat-
Fake gamer girl is always there to spread wisdom. Thanks bestie ❤
So, I just went in and bought cats and dogs since it’s 50%, and they threw in my first pet stuff for free 😂
That might have made it feel more integrated into the existing game.
we stan the grandparents core
I whole heartedly believe Growing Together was supposed to be a Parenthood refresh and thats why we'll never get one ever again
1:06 lmaoo also at 1:29 i literally love your style
Also 7:52 I wasn't expecting lmaoo
as someone who is also from the bay area - i feel offended by this. they made fucking WALNUT CREEK NOT SF
THE INTRO ATE
I've been looking for sims content that doesn't put me to sleep in seconds for so long, this was an instant sub! I loveeee your energy!!!!
You had me at extra traits.
Sarah's always keeping it real and I love her for it
I appreciate the Hannah Montana music breaks between sections 😄
0:29 my too my friend
It’s so fresh img hearing someone say it how it is and not bullshit it
I just wanna give you a thank you.
I will say that I dislike that it’s behind a paywall… but thank god for … loopholes
LMFAOOOO that 50 cent game popping up. I completely forgot about that
Telling the Sims 4 team and EA how it is instead of fanboying over dressing up a doll???? Bless you.
Edit* I'm sorry but i laughed at the title saying "Rational" i didn't mean to 😂
I agree with the general idea but sentiments are basegame (even though they only make them for the new packs), only lifestyles are SE-exclusive
Your honesty is essential as we wade through the muddy waters of simdom. Thank you for your service
I've noticed that pre order bonus items are becoming more of a thing and to get them you have to pre order during a time period before the Game Changers can get any reviews out, like they're trying to entice us into buying packs before we get to see if they actually work or are worth it 🤔
Absolutely brilliant reveiw & super funny!! YOU my dear have Made my day! Much Love. 😚
With that intro, I can imagine you doing voiceovers for fundraiser ads. It sounded so warm!
I think it's unfortunate that the 1 infant thing I wanted was tied to pre order on this pack. Luckily I have a pc and modders exist
It’s on 50% so now I can get it!!!
one time i thought lifestyles were a base-game update
like genuinely i didnt realize until i was watching my friend play the game
The intro is so great... So true... Then it cuts back to reality
This should have been a Parenthood refresh
San Sequoia is actually so fucking tragic how did they even manage to make it that ugly
Thumbs up just for the Mehrunes Dagon shoutout. lol
Really impressed you spent 20 hrs play testing bc you realized that what was needed for this pack. That's integrity!
I autoplayed to this video and I dead ass thought it was a child well fair ad by the beginning. 10/10
"I wear my daddy issues on my sleeve" lmao same😂
You mentioned Moira and I went down on a hyper fixation spiral made me so happy
3:27 does anyone know what pack the lady’s hair is from?
5:38 is my favorite bit
fucking love the hannah montanna sound transitions, GOATED
I was NOT expecting the Moira jumpscare. I want to go play OW now but I have a therapist appointment in like 5 minutes
Sneako taking shots even when no one is talking about him, gold!
"you should no pay" thank god i have cracked the whole series lmao i stopped buying it years ago have some respect to myself first time in my life ngl XDDDD
You did a fantastic job with this review :)
wow just...wow thank you,you actually talked me out of getting this pack. I was sold by everything you had been saying up until you talked about how this should've been in parenthood, and your right. I never thought of it that way. Thank you for your honesty. Like,Actually thank you.
I legit just sent this to the sims official UA-cam post about the pack. Fingers crossed they actually watch it
First time I've ever seen one of your videos but your vibes are PEAK. Immediate sub
Honestly if there was a way for me to get a full refund I would because I hate giving EA money
easily the best review for this pack out there, you love to see the honesty
this review is exactly what I needed, thank you
This is honestly the best made review, and the only review anyone should watch
Ok but you could narrate for commercials, your voice is so good I thought it was a genuine Pampers ad for a moment 😂
Your customer service/corporate voice is 💯
EA continuing to charge $60 for extremely basic features that should have been in the base game (or in the case of my wedding stories don't even work at all) is why I'll never pay for an expansion pack again 🏴☠
I literally just moved Xander from Buffy into the new world last night. Lol. I can agree. What in the world with so little of lots to build on? I don't like evicting other sims, but if I want more places to put sims, I have to evict others and bulldoze lots. 🤦♀
I was waiting for this review !!
And it did not desappoint I loved every second of it. Thabk you !
Your transition sound is my ringtone on my phone and it keeps giving me a startle lmao
Thank you for presenting the pack so trough fully! And for playing the Sims for a while with this pack to understand it better! I love your honest reviews because it really makes me understand what expansion pack I'm looking at and wether i want it or not. So helpful☺️❤️❤️
fakegamergirl is anything you do truly rational /j
absolutely not xx
