The fact that we measure the size of worlds in how many lots there are really should tell the sims team that they should just put down more lots! I am ok with empty lots, what I need is just more lots for my sims to live in and for community lots
It's so sad, I love the new pack, and the world is gorgeous, but I wish there were more lots! If it was up to me, I would have as many lots as Windenburg
This and Snowy escape need more and bigger lots like windenburg has. I wanted to build a shrine in Snowy escape, and I couldn't because all the lots are so small

@@indedgames4359 do enlighten me about what will happen if they "just" remove a fake house in the neighborhood and put a lot instead! I think it's interesting. I obviously understand adding another neighborhood would take a lot of effort, so let's just focus on why there are so few lots in each neighborhood (and by that I mean the loaded zone you can see when in live mode)
i wish there were student personalities. so if your sim cuts class a lot, they’ll get a trait for like a rebel, or a student who always answers teacher questions could become a goodie two shoes!
Didn't The Sims 3 University have something like that? I'm pretty sure there were different groups like rebels and jocks that your sim could become part of in that pack.
"it is polished and it does work" - my sims would sit on the floor during class even when there were enough desks in the room - prom literally never happens in my game. it will be time for prom and it just doesn't start. - the game confuses cheerleading/sports competition results with finchwick fair results and thinks my cheerleader is entering fucking MILK -even if my teen sims graduate early they still get negative sentiments if their SO's don't ask them to prom. you're in college, what do you need to go to prom for?
I said I wouldn't buy it because I didn't want to relive my high school years. They've been so far the most disappointing time of my life. And now I am glad I didn't make the mistake of buying this.
I never tried it but when i saw the review, the teacher not sitting on their chair and desk while in class. Even placing a desk and chair isn't helping you.
Same thing happened with my wedding stories. It was broken people still bought it and they didn't bother to fix because of that. So dont expect for any major fix

Just a little lacking, missing that special spark seems accurate. I haven't gotten the pack yet, definitely waiting for a sale for this one (and the patch to make my game easy to play again). Of course, my possibly unpopular opinion is that I don't think *any* dlc should be the *same* price as the game you need to buy to use it. Not that I haven't broken down and splurged on a full price expansion before, but I certainly get grumbly about it to myself. Also as an side note, I fully enjoy the LGR perspective on the S4.
Yeah it's definitely lacking. The high school itself is incredibly boring: lots of wide, empty space, populated by the same 15 or so teens (the townies from Copperdale seem to take priority over existing teens), and there's nothing to really do in class, except wait for the timer to run out. I could've done without Trendi to be honest, but I get the impression the collab with Depop is the only reason this pack got made at all.
As I always say for any sims 4 pack: wait for sales or put it in a bundle when you can cause they aren't worth full price especially now. Why do we have game packs that felt more like stuff packs (RIP) like Dream Home Decorator and EP that should have been game packs like this one. Oh wait, monEA
yes like why tf do we need to pay $40 for our teens to go to school? my kids and toddlers still can't do anything with the stuff packs literally dedicated to kids and toddlers AND walmart generations. ik ea loves money and making a million packs a year so they can get a much of it as they can, but why the hell should we buy high school pack, toddler and kids room stuff, AND parenthood versus getting the sims 3 and just buying generations?? it's stupid atp

I feel like EA is really trying to give us things we've been asking for, like wants/fears, high school, marriages (although a complete fail). It's too bad I was really excited for high school but it was kind of lack luster. I really wish there was actually football games where they could just generate fake sims on the bleachers. I would've liked to see my sim actually cheerleading for a game. I also wish there was more clubs or things to do, like music club, art club, science club, where your sim can just start doing those activities in the class or something. It also would've been neat to have schools for children like middle school and toddlers like preschool. But maybe that's asking too much. This pack is really worth $20 tbh
I agree, but you can build rooms and put in pianos and organs and guitars and painting Easels.. or some science machine and you can use it and it will work to increase your knowledge of that skill.. so go ahead and make extra rooms in the school and fill it with whatever you want of things which you know will add to your skills.. I placed rooms in mine, mostly the painting and piano and guitar stuff like that and go between classes and jam for awhile, or paint a painting or whatever.. others may show up, especially if you play music, sims flock to music, like a moth to a flame..
@deh high school pack was part of Generations and had aspects of Kid Stuff, Toddler Stuff, Parenthood, My Wedding Stories, and Nifty Knitting (the rocking chairs and elder reminiscing, not knitting). Also had honeymoons, anniversaries, imaginary friends, door bell ditch and egging houses, pranking the school, boarding schools, tree houses, strollers, actual bachelor/ette parties and more. They really are nickle and diming us for pieces of a proper pack.
I completely agree. I feel like with the recent packs, like werewolves, horse ranch, and growing together, they’re just shilling out things they know the community has been asking for just to squeeze more money out of the game before abandoning it for sims 5. Most of these packs recently could have easily been in another pack (ie. Parenthood = growing together) or priced differently. Like horse ranch shouldn’t be an expansion pack instead it should be a game pack. The stuff we get feels half baked at best.
Look, friends. It's $40. Forty. Dollars. Do you know how many full, far less buggy indie games you could buy for that? Or how many mod and CC creators you could donate to who improve the game for free? That, and the patch for it literally broke the game and nearly all mods. They got rid of whims, when wants and fears are half done garbage. I honestly would not shell out $40 for any pack at all. If anything, the game gets more unstable with each pack that comes out because its built on a very broken foundation. It is absolutely 1000% a waste of money unless you absolutely live for teen Sims and want to relive highschool. This isn't a hate comment or the usual "EA sucks" mantra, but I just wouldn't encourage anyone to buy this at all. Even if the Sims team did their best and it looks good, it doesn't function well. At least wait until everything is back to "normal" and it's on sale. Or... You know... Sail the high seas elsewhere.
I agree 100% with spending the money on the modders too cause they’re the same people who could make something similar to this pack or even better and give it to us for free with less bugs and quickly updated for each patch rather than EA not even trying to fix bugs and producing constantly…
im gonna get it when it goes 50% off. i always do family gameplay, but find myself getting bored with teens so i think this will help! i also tend to base what packs i get off build/buy so... yeah i want it

Yeah, I’m waiting for a sale. I’m excited for a lot of the CAS and build/buy items and Copperdale, but I’m not sure if the gameplay is something I’ll use much!
I feel like an expansion pack is supposed to change my entire game, but this was more like a game pack where it just changed a part of it. I feel like it needed so much more like an interactive teaching career or principle career. Then I wanted homeschooling! Also the fact that you can’t joke around in class or ask questions is upsetting. And the rabbit holes! So many rabbit holes! As for build/buy, I am completely enjoying that aspect! I’ve been building nonstop haha
I really want games ‘The Urbz’, Sims Castaway Stories, and of course Sims Medieval 2. I even liked My Sims, but that may be because I was a kid playing on my Wii console.

It’s not lagging for me, if it lags for u then leave the game and then re join it and some of the bugs fix, also abt the ageing just turn it off and the sims don’t die, I’m a builder so I think the pack is amazing

It's awful to me, glitches or no glitches..... I can't even watch gameplay videos with it. The school is bland and cold looking, like a mental hospital, the cafeteria looks like a prison canteen, the classrooms are like those classes courts force driving offenders to take to get their license back. I know you can always customize your school however you please and that the school's looks are a standard because everyone's computers are different, but damn o.0. And even with making the school to our liking, there is still the gameplay..... Why is this pack so linear?! They just do the same things without spontaneous anything, they just sit in class like bots doing nothing, and if your sim falls asleep in class the teacher doesn't even get mad or anything like in real life. Why didn't they think about putting a nurse's office in the school with a bed for sleepy sims? And the whole pack feels like if nerds decided to make a game around what they think cool kids stereotypically do in high school but from a nerd's perspective, like it's one big assumption of what people assume cheerleaders and football teams are like. That pack needed more school activities because they didn't consider EVERYONE's Highschool experience, just 2 types of people, cheerleaders and footballers, and apparently socially awkward...... Do they even know what socially awkward means? They can make friends they just don't have allot and they're awkward around people they barely know, they're not the school's pariah only to be avoided.... Why did they make them like that it's so exaggerated. And everything around the school's prom feels like every soul in that school is condemned to purgatory, forever doomed to a never ending maddening loop of promposal and a god awful prom, over and over and over.
Idk. I was the school’s pariah. It sounds accurate to my experience. It sounds like they just need levels to the social structure. Seeing how.. that’s what real life is.
@@kelly-bo-belly I mean i guess i'm not exactly one to talk when it comes to making demands for this pack since i never made a request for a school pack, but still they made it anyway and it's so.... icky. I feel like id get bored fast following my sim kids around to school and eventually just want to stay home with my sim dog instead while the family is out on week days. When it comes to schooling in the sims my idea of it not being tedious but improved upon would be something like an update that adds more to the illusion of school. Like when they're on their way to and from school they wear bag packs. We see kids and teen sims walking pass our house in the mornings on their way to school and back from school, and they'd wave to our sims as they walk pass the house, and school busses again. I don't think any of the sims games are there yet to have a functioning school building and system, or else they'll just end up feeling like NPCs in them. It could be done though where they feel more fluid and keep our attention.
I don't play sims because I am broke but this pack seems decent enough I guess. The best thing in the pack is the fact that the men have a good amount of CAS items.
If you want to buy the Sims 4, I recommend waiting until it's on sale for $5 during Black Friday (If they make it that cheap again) Also all the packs are discounted on Black Friday as well.
Honestly I liked too. Someone might call me stupid that I bought it really in full price, but from all the expansion packs this was the least useless lol. Its fun, much better that university, sulani and etc. First time in forever i was just having fun

I am a bit disappointed at the High School gameplay. It really is lacking a bit, that being said it's an excuse to keep using the Go To School Mod. And with what you said about Expansion packs lacking something, I'd like to paraphrase from Jeremy Clarkson: "You know what this is? This is a £34.99 Mr Nearly pack. It's forever in a No Man's land between a Game Pack Rock and a Value for Money Hard Place."
It upsets me how un-excited i am for every new pack. The last one that really caught my interest was cottage living but that still didn't get me hard enough to buy it. Honestly the more packs that come out the more I hate the sims 4 it's already buggy enough without them forcing their desperate cash-grabs down our throats :(
And that pack crashed my game repeatedly. I lost hundreds of hours of gameplay because it caused me to load an old save. Have not played that pack since then.

The classes are really boring, we can't interact with other students during them, or throw stuff at the teacher/a student. One thing I did like was my teen getting bullied by Wolfgang Munch for a solid 2 minutes on his first day, it felt very realistic.
I pre-ordered this pack for 75 Canadian (that's including tax) which is almost as much as I would pay for a new triple A game. Let's just say the glitches have really let me down.
Jesus Christ u payed a lot, I live in England and I only had to pay £30 for the pack and I didn’t have to pay tax, try exiting the game and re join also if u have cc and mods turn them off cause the bugs will all be gone, ea is fixing it tho and if ur sims are dying then turn automatic ageing off

Okay, so I'm not one of those simmers who is just familiar with the sims, EA, and Modern Maxis. I've also been with the series since TS1, I think I was 16 or 17 when it released. I very infrequently buy new triple A game titles, I typically wait until they go on sale, but I occasionally do make exceptions, so.. if you want me to pay MORE THAN HALF the price of non-sale Red Dead Redemption 2, a groundbreaking game which took as long to make as Sims 4 has existed (thought preliminary work on it started in !!!2011!!!), and which also hilariously runs leagues better on my machine than TS4 s o m e h o w.. You better be giving me something better than some pretty build/buy items, teenager clothes, an empty, generic, boring world, body hair with part of its features locked behind a paywall, shallow gameplay, and apparently high school(s??) being locked to said boring-ass world. Oh hey yeah lets not forget that same-day patch that made my sim want to get with his offspring, caused sims to age up at super sonic speeds, misc other horrors, or maybe just plain made the game NOT LAUNCH, and which will be taking over a week to fix. In an economy where paying my bills, getting necessities, and buying food healthier than a microwaved hotdog and ramen wrapped in a tortilla is a dangerous game of a totally different sort. And you wanna know what the fuckin cherry on the cake is that just really chaps my asshole? Even if I DID have termites bore through my brain and I decided to plop down thirty someodd goddamn dollars to access the wonders of hair growth, I CAN'T HAVE A FEM BODIED SIM GROW A BEAUTIFUL HANDLEBAR MOUSTACHE?
I’ve been watching your videos for awhile and i love your reviews because you are honest but not over the top when it comes to criticizing. You make it known when you don’t like something but not to the point where it’s you full on rambling and I respect that! My opinions: -honestly when I heard about the pack I already didn’t care/ wasn’t excited because EA has been releasing half-assed shit for awhile and I didn’t expect the two latest packs especially this one to be any better. What settled my mind was when on Instagram, the sims said they didn’t have yearbooks. I’m not saying they needed yearbooks, but the moment they said that they may not have yearbooks I just knew that everything else would’ve been lackluster. -I still feel wholeheartedly that this pack shouldn’t have been a Highschool pack but a school pack. We should’ve been introduced to the different school levels, like elementary, FINALLY middle school with a new cas edition of pre-teens, scalers for height, and ofc a slight teen revamp. I also hoped that for each world there would be a different high school, and a influx of new families with teen sims so the schools aren’t exactly empty. I also wished there was an addition to clubs where kids-teens can now join clubs based on age. I can’t even say I’m disappointed because I didn’t expect much in the beginning, but at least clothes and build/buy are pretty good. I’ve seen Carmen King lp on this pack and for the first time I was so uninterested as she was playing it, it’s just…boring. What I like: -I don’t really like much so far, since I’ve been using mostly cc I don’t even rely on maxis made things anymore so I didn’t pay attention to the clothes and the hair. Some EA hairs look like some cc creators hair, for example the braided swooped high ponytail. It looks exactly like sheabuttyr’s hair. -the fair is very cute but I wish there were more rides. -the world is very beautiful but I hate that it’s still small. Anything extra: -I feel two things: one; the sims keep releasing packs that modders have made for some reason. I remember seeing the trailer for the werewolf mod when it first came out unless it was a joke, and all of s sudden the sims team came out with werewolves. I’ve seen on gameplays this one simmer had a go to school mod and I’m assuming it was kind of popular, and now the sims team made this pack. Maybe they’re doing everything they can to keep simmers playing with their stuff. Two; EA seriously needs to stop making packs and actually fix the game so there’s not as much bugs in it, starting with base game. Everytime there’s an update something always goes wrong (ik that if you have mods and cc that’s the biggest reason why) but I hate how everything is always messed up. The other expansion packs are either lackluster or just broken and now would be a perfect time to fix that instead of releasing more broken content. I see a lot of people complaining but still buying packs as if that’s gonna change anything too. Also the minor updates that don’t really change anything? I really wished they stopped those because it’s basically pointless. Sorry for the extremely long post that turned into a rant~

This is one of the better FGG videos recently. I think this was a well-rounded review for the different aspects of the pack. I'm personally not too interested in the gameplay because I had a similar high school experience to FGG (having a bad time lol). The build/buy is probably the best part.
Honestly I 100% agree with this I was also not excited when it was first announced ,the build buy, cas and gameplay was good but like you said there is something missing and I can't quite place it, it is like they are almost there and it's great to see improvements, but is it worth the $ like you said it depends on preference
When I heard the name coppervale I was so excited bc I thought they were going to go for a riverdale vibe where you can solve mysteries but noooooo all we got was prom, a ferris wheel and a fire drill.
You should build a dorm rooms like a dorm rooms with the high school pack each of them are different type of like student like golf emo aesthetic like that I think that would be fun maybe if you like to build or you can do each cover of the rainbow and I do stamps according to that room so you can customize a character and then let them live out there like that I think that'd be really cool
I pre-ordered HS. It's been working so far for me. Lunch lady came about 7-ish in the morning as soon as my Sims came to school, and once I figured out how to do the school playing, students usually will go to class. However, if their fun or something is low, they'll do what one of mine did, and go up to the business class to the computer and play games or something, instead of attending class. But if everything is wonderful, they'll head to class. I've been playing with the Buffy set of teens I pre-made for the HS pack, and that's how it went for me. Haven't had prom yet, but last time I played, it said that it was this Saturday and that exams were due this Friday, so that sounds fun I guess. When I was in HS in real life, I didn't experience prom until my senior year, and I went with my best friend, whom is still my bff to this day, despite living in different states these days. I can't wait to try this pack out with my other set of teens I created as well. A few of the Teen Wolf teens.

In Canada the expansion packs are 54.99 plus tax, I love the cas and build buy items but might just wait until it goes on sale because the game play and bugs that are happening just don't seem like it is worth 54.99 basically 56 canadian dollars. :(
I really really wish they would have added an attraction system (as a base game update) for the release of either My Wedding Stories or High School packs. I think it would have been really appropriate. It’s way too easy to woo people.

I found a bug in CAS with one pair of pants, if you aren’t wearing a shirt you can see it. For some reason it deletes your midriff, so your torso is just floating above the pants, I’ve only tried it on a female sim so I don’t know if it works on male sims. The bottom half of the pants’ swatches has the bug, the top half is totally normal
The day was February 17, 2021. I was checking my UA-cam to see who had posted and sure enough, Fakegamergirl posted a new video. And what was that video? Her making her own high school pack since the Sims didn't have one. And now there is an official pack. I swear you are predicting the future.
This expansion was my birthday gift. I'm enjoying parts of it, but some of the glitches are glaring. Like saying my teen will be considered a drop out even if they've been told they can graduate early.

I never went to high school, but I feel like that was accurate based on what I've heard. On a side note, I'm autistic too and as much as I'm in the same boat as you with hating change the new phone isn't a problem for me. I think it's really cool and so much better than the phone we had before. That was just a mess. It's so much easier to use now as opposed to the old phone where people had to be like "Okay. Where the flying fuck is this thing I'm looking for?" In conclusion I agree that it could've been done better. (Even though I can't speak from experience because Walmart doesn't fucking have this pack.) I'm not complaining though because you can actually send your teens to high school now wish I think is really great. Also, I like what you did with your hair. Kind of looks like cotton candy. Not gonna lie.
I was stupidly excited for this pack. I'm not sure why, it might have something to do with that concussion I had. I worked overtime to afford the pack, got in the game, sent SimMe to ThriftTea and SimMe aged up to elder from young adult and then DIED. Yeah...
Kind of interested in the beginning since I thought it's similar to University Life where the Uni is this one area with no time limit, but if it have time limit like GTW and being forced to leave the school after it finish then I'm less interested. Thanks for the review.
So, I'm a console player, and when I tried to sell my clothes on Trendi and ship the clothes to the customer it didn't work. Is that for everyone or is it just a console thing, or just a me thing?
I really liked everything about it (although prom once a week was ridiculous). I like everything that came with it, but unfortunately after a couple of months, my sim would keep getting expelled from school every time she came home from school. Tried reinstalling it, repairing it, nothing worked 😣
I was playing today and two teen Sims who were both friends of my teen girl Nikki , on a Saturday, just walked right into my Sims home and first 1 guy named Jeb with a thick ass black beard, came in and asked Nikki's mom to be his best friend, when they hadn't even met yet, I had her turn him down, since it fit with my Sims mom, ( because she's actually very mean and hates children ) then before I could get the mom to tell Jeb to get out of her house, suddenly Sidney Price also came right into their house and also asked Nikki's mom to be his best friend, and again Nikki's mom doesn't know Sidney! It's times like these I wish we had the option for a mean Sims to REALLY holler at another Sims and tell them to get out of their house, because her telling them to " go away " just doesn't cut it, heck if I had the Extreme Violence Mod in my game, I would have had her hit them both with a bat and make them leave! Now this is after the NEW patch today, like wow thanks, Maxis, " Gurus " thanks for a new bug, or is this just something that was already in the game from the last patch/bugs? What happened is good if you are wanting funny things to happen, but not when your trying to make sure your lead Sims is doing everything they need to do to succeed in High School, and it was rather shocking seeing two teen males just come through my Sims front door, while the mom is sitting on the couch watching TV and my Sim is sleeping, since she had stayed up painting until 6am, and her father was at work, so if this was real life, it would look like they waited until the husband/father left, before coming into their house, without knocking even! We had this problem in Apartments after they came out, and the a" Gurus " said it was probably because the other Sims has the Goofball trait, which the one doing it, did not, actually it was 2 of them, because they were married and neither had the Goofball trait! Now it's happening again, but it's somehow even more creepier then before, because they're asking a woman neither had met to be their best friends, woman's daughter is asleep down the hall in her room, and they both had friendships with her, it's almost like the game got the mom mixed up for the daughter, except the guys said her name, not the daughters name! Maybe I will put Extreme Violence mod back in, so that the next time some guys just walk into my Sims house, I can have her shoot them, lol! Oh also while in school, a lot of people kept walking through walls, even when there was NOTHING keeping them from going the normal rout, like through the doorway just a foot way from them, and not a soul near it or them, lol!

This is entirely unrelated, but I, too, am autistic and hate change, so the Amphibia ending absolutely broke me because not only did one of my comfort shows end, but a show that I used for escapism ended by spitting the painful truth of reality back in my face. I ugly cried.
9:07 You perfectly described my play style. Additionally, I actually _prefer_ packs that add to current gameplay, like Seasons, because I feel I get more use out of them. In contrast, packs like Werewolves would require a Werewolves-dedicated save, etc. Maybe I should consider finally ending my EA boycott... The one thing holding me back is that I have a lot of school trauma, so it may trigger me, like how I have to play with Discover University disabled because it essentially guilt-trips you into taking your sims to college. I already feel bad about my decision to not go to college myself; I don't want to deny my sims a higher education because the college gameplay stresses _me_ out.

Ah the fire alarm! My record was twice in a day... In real life, not in the game. Twice in a day, literally right before Christmas vacations in a Canadian winter. North American school, am I right? Where was the fire you may ask? There was no fire, the system was bugging all the time and let the alarm off at random.
I hadn’t been this excited for a pack in *years* and I’m still excited about it even though I own it! I agree that the world is lackluster but I am prone to buying packs just for BB *or* CAS items, so the fact that this pack has so many of *both* with all of my fave aesthetics, in addition to finally making an effort to further differentiate teens from adults with the gameplay and new traits…. Yeah, I absolutely would have paid full price for this one even though I didn’t 🤣
I am glad I am not the only one not very jazzed for this pack. I posted on another video that I dont really do family gameplay and why would you want to relive the trauma of high school and people basically shamed me saying high school was great for them and that I must just been damaged to not like this concept. Build buy looks good, but I dont know if its good enough for me to buy it just for that.

I love your commentary. High school was pretty much a blurr for me and we didn't have cellphones, laptops, or social media. Hell, we didn't have internet. We had like one home computer that we used to play games and do word processing and computer class homework-- except my school used Macs and we had PC so the files weren't compatible. I never actually used my locker in high school. I just lugged all my books around, but we had a thing where we only had 4 classes a day instead of 8 so I only had to bring half the books. That cafeteria looks nothing like any school ones I had. The cafeterias in schools here greatly resemble prison cafeterias. The middle school is run like a prison as well. Did I mention incarceration rates are really high here? Gotta admit, I have no interest in this pack. I don't play with kids or teens in my game so there's no point. I only play with adults and pets. If there are any new like kitchen or cooking items I *might* consider getting it when it goes on sale-- if only for the objects.

I took my sim to school and was quite happy and curious about it and met the other sims that were there and made a good friend and met a boy and it was a good first day. I went back the second day and like 3/4 of the students had been replaced with other teens, and my whole class were the most generic boring looking sims... :(
I'm primarily a builder and spend forever in CAS so I do like the pack for the most part, but I am upset that it cost so much for mostly BB items and so little gameplay. I'd be overjoyed if it were a gamepack though!

Sooo, when I downloaded the expansion I actually liked it, then it came time to prom…it never happened, I went to the pre-prom party and went home, and I never got the pop up to travel to prom and my sim is now depressed because she missed prom, no one is talking about this glitch but when I looked it up there are people saying it’s a conflict between the get involved pack and this one. Get involved generates a lot of events in the calendar cause of them to over look the high school year events, I don’t want to have to turn off get involved but I actually want to enjoy this pack ;( Edit:it actually might be get famous, I’m seeing a lot of people saying the talent show stops prom from happening.
For some reason the pack doesn’t work for me. Like the prom is announced but it doesn’t happening and as it’s Saturday 7:00 pm literally nothing happens only that I get from my PROM DATE a sentiment that I DIDNT invite him to prom… also my sim does an excellent work at school but her grades don’t go up higher like why
I've honestly been quite enjoying this pack. I normally don't buy packs not on sale but EAs buy early for extra content marketing scheme worked on me. I think I've been lucky as I haven't been experiencing a whole lot of bugs but the ones I have experienced have been kinda funny. I think I've been enjoying it because normally I don't do much with my teen sims normally other then make them do homework so its be fun doing something different. I am at least slightly regret not waiting till a sale cause I'm broke now.
The fact that we measure the size of worlds in how many lots there are really should tell the sims team that they should just put down more lots! I am ok with empty lots, what I need is just more lots for my sims to live in and for community lots

I obviously understand adding another neighborhood would take a lot of effort, so let's just focus on why there are so few lots in each neighborhood (and by that I mean the loaded zone you can see when in live mode)
i wish there were student personalities. so if your sim cuts class a lot, they’ll get a trait for like a rebel, or a student who always answers teacher questions could become a goodie two shoes!

Probably the sitting on the floor issue is because you have place things on the desk (i think). And if you have Mcc that will make prom not to work.

Same thing happened with my wedding stories. It was broken people still bought it and they didn't bother to fix because of that. So dont expect for any major fix

Just a little lacking, missing that special spark seems accurate. I haven't gotten the pack yet, definitely waiting for a sale for this one (and the patch to make my game easy to play again). Of course, my possibly unpopular opinion is that I don't think *any* dlc should be the *same* price as the game you need to buy to use it. Not that I haven't broken down and splurged on a full price expansion before, but I certainly get grumbly about it to myself.
Also as an side note, I fully enjoy the LGR perspective on the S4.
Yeah it's definitely lacking. The high school itself is incredibly boring: lots of wide, empty space, populated by the same 15 or so teens (the townies from Copperdale seem to take priority over existing teens), and there's nothing to really do in class, except wait for the timer to run out.
I could've done without Trendi to be honest, but I get the impression the collab with Depop is the only reason this pack got made at all.
As I always say for any sims 4 pack: wait for sales or put it in a bundle when you can cause they aren't worth full price especially now. Why do we have game packs that felt more like stuff packs (RIP) like Dream Home Decorator and EP that should have been game packs like this one. Oh wait, monEA

I feel like EA is really trying to give us things we've been asking for, like wants/fears, high school, marriages (although a complete fail). It's too bad I was really excited for high school but it was kind of lack luster. I really wish there was actually football games where they could just generate fake sims on the bleachers. I would've liked to see my sim actually cheerleading for a game. I also wish there was more clubs or things to do, like music club, art club, science club, where your sim can just start doing those activities in the class or something. It also would've been neat to have schools for children like middle school and toddlers like preschool. But maybe that's asking too much. This pack is really worth $20 tbh

I agree, but you can build rooms and put in pianos and organs and guitars and painting Easels.. or some science machine and you can use it and it will work to increase your knowledge of that skill.. so go ahead and make extra rooms in the school and fill it with whatever you want of things which you know will add to your skills.. I placed rooms in mine, mostly the painting and piano and guitar stuff like that and go between classes and jam for awhile, or paint a painting or whatever.. others may show up, especially if you play music, sims flock to music, like a moth to a flame..
@deh high school pack was part of Generations and had aspects of Kid Stuff, Toddler Stuff, Parenthood, My Wedding Stories, and Nifty Knitting (the rocking chairs and elder reminiscing, not knitting). Also had honeymoons, anniversaries, imaginary friends, door bell ditch and egging houses, pranking the school, boarding schools, tree houses, strollers, actual bachelor/ette parties and more. They really are nickle and diming us for pieces of a proper pack.
I completely agree. I feel like with the recent packs, like werewolves, horse ranch, and growing together, they’re just shilling out things they know the community has been asking for just to squeeze more money out of the game before abandoning it for sims 5. Most of these packs recently could have easily been in another pack (ie. Parenthood = growing together) or priced differently. Like horse ranch shouldn’t be an expansion pack instead it should be a game pack. The stuff we get feels half baked at best.
If Paralives turns out to be good, I hope this makes EA realize their losing their fans with lackluster work.
Look, friends. It's $40. Forty. Dollars. Do you know how many full, far less buggy indie games you could buy for that? Or how many mod and CC creators you could donate to who improve the game for free?
That, and the patch for it literally broke the game and nearly all mods. They got rid of whims, when wants and fears are half done garbage.
I honestly would not shell out $40 for any pack at all. If anything, the game gets more unstable with each pack that comes out because its built on a very broken foundation.
It is absolutely 1000% a waste of money unless you absolutely live for teen Sims and want to relive highschool.
This isn't a hate comment or the usual "EA sucks" mantra, but I just wouldn't encourage anyone to buy this at all. Even if the Sims team did their best and it looks good, it doesn't function well.

I feel like an expansion pack is supposed to change my entire game, but this was more like a game pack where it just changed a part of it. I feel like it needed so much more like an interactive teaching career or principle career. Then I wanted homeschooling! Also the fact that you can’t joke around in class or ask questions is upsetting. And the rabbit holes! So many rabbit holes!
As for build/buy, I am completely enjoying that aspect! I’ve been building nonstop haha
I really want games ‘The Urbz’, Sims Castaway Stories, and of course Sims Medieval 2. I even liked My Sims, but that may be because I was a kid playing on my Wii console.

It's awful to me, glitches or no glitches..... I can't even watch gameplay videos with it.
The school is bland and cold looking, like a mental hospital, the cafeteria looks like a prison canteen, the classrooms are like those classes courts force driving offenders to take to get their license back. I know you can always customize your school however you please and that the school's looks are a standard because everyone's computers are different, but damn o.0. And even with making the school to our liking, there is still the gameplay.....
Why is this pack so linear?! They just do the same things without spontaneous anything, they just sit in class like bots doing nothing, and if your sim falls asleep in class the teacher doesn't even get mad or anything like in real life. Why didn't they think about putting a nurse's office in the school with a bed for sleepy sims? And the whole pack feels like if nerds decided to make a game around what they think cool kids stereotypically do in high school but from a nerd's perspective, like it's one big assumption of what people assume cheerleaders and football teams are like.
That pack needed more school activities because they didn't consider EVERYONE's Highschool experience, just 2 types of people, cheerleaders and footballers, and apparently socially awkward...... Do they even know what socially awkward means? They can make friends they just don't have allot and they're awkward around people they barely know, they're not the school's pariah only to be avoided.... Why did they make them like that it's so exaggerated. And everything around the school's prom feels like every soul in that school is condemned to purgatory, forever doomed to a never ending maddening loop of promposal and a god awful prom, over and over and over.
Idk. I was the school’s pariah. It sounds accurate to my experience. It sounds like they just need levels to the social structure. Seeing how.. that’s what real life is.

I feel like id get bored fast following my sim kids around to school and eventually just want to stay home with my sim dog instead while the family is out on week days. When it comes to schooling in the sims my idea of it not being tedious but improved upon would be something like an update that adds more to the illusion of school. Like when they're on their way to and from school they wear bag packs. We see kids and teen sims walking pass our house in the mornings on their way to school and back from school, and they'd wave to our sims as they walk pass the house, and school busses again.
I don't think any of the sims games are there yet to have a functioning school building and system, or else they'll just end up feeling like NPCs in them. It could be done though where they feel more fluid and keep our attention.
I don't play sims because I am broke but this pack seems decent enough I guess. The best thing in the pack is the fact that the men have a good amount of CAS items.
If you want to buy the Sims 4, I recommend waiting until it's on sale for $5 during Black Friday (If they make it that cheap again) Also all the packs are discounted on Black Friday as well.

I am a bit disappointed at the High School gameplay. It really is lacking a bit, that being said it's an excuse to keep using the Go To School Mod. And with what you said about Expansion packs lacking something, I'd like to paraphrase from Jeremy Clarkson: "You know what this is? This is a £34.99 Mr Nearly pack. It's forever in a No Man's land between a Game Pack Rock and a Value for Money Hard Place."

It upsets me how un-excited i am for every new pack. The last one that really caught my interest was cottage living but that still didn't get me hard enough to buy it. Honestly the more packs that come out the more I hate the sims 4 it's already buggy enough without them forcing their desperate cash-grabs down our throats :(
And that pack crashed my game repeatedly. I lost hundreds of hours of gameplay because it caused me to load an old save. Have not played that pack since then.

I think you should put a disclaimer that hair growth is not high school-specific, it's a base game update
The classes are really boring, we can't interact with other students during them, or throw stuff at the teacher/a student. One thing I did like was my teen getting bullied by Wolfgang Munch for a solid 2 minutes on his first day, it felt very realistic.
I pre-ordered this pack for 75 Canadian (that's including tax) which is almost as much as I would pay for a new triple A game. Let's just say the glitches have really let me down.

Okay, so I'm not one of those simmers who is just familiar with the sims, EA, and Modern Maxis. I've also been with the series since TS1, I think I was 16 or 17 when it released.
I very infrequently buy new triple A game titles, I typically wait until they go on sale, but I occasionally do make exceptions, so.. if you want me to pay MORE THAN HALF the price of non-sale Red Dead Redemption 2, a groundbreaking game which took as long to make as Sims 4 has existed (thought preliminary work on it started in !!!2011!!!), and which also hilariously runs leagues better on my machine than TS4 s o m e h o w..
You better be giving me something better than some pretty build/buy items, teenager clothes, an empty, generic, boring world, body hair with part of its features locked behind a paywall, shallow gameplay, and apparently high school(s??) being locked to said boring-ass world.
Oh hey yeah lets not forget that same-day patch that made my sim want to get with his offspring, caused sims to age up at super sonic speeds, misc other horrors, or maybe just plain made the game NOT LAUNCH, and which will be taking over a week to fix.

I’ve been watching your videos for awhile and i love your reviews because you are honest but not over the top when it comes to criticizing. You make it known when you don’t like something but not to the point where it’s you full on rambling and I respect that!
My opinions:
-honestly when I heard about the pack I already didn’t care/ wasn’t excited because EA has been releasing half-assed shit for awhile and I didn’t expect the two latest packs especially this one to be any better. What settled my mind was when on Instagram, the sims said they didn’t have yearbooks. I’m not saying they needed yearbooks, but the moment they said that they may not have yearbooks I just knew that everything else would’ve been lackluster.
-I still feel wholeheartedly that this pack shouldn’t have been a Highschool pack but a school pack. We should’ve been introduced to the different school levels, like elementary, FINALLY middle school with a new cas edition of pre-teens, scalers for height, and ofc a slight teen revamp. I also hoped that for each world there would be a different high school, and a influx of new families with teen sims so the schools aren’t exactly empty. I also wished there was an addition to clubs where kids-teens can now join clubs based on age. I can’t even say I’m disappointed because I didn’t expect much in the beginning, but at least clothes and build/buy are pretty good. I’ve seen Carmen King lp on this pack and for the first time I was so uninterested as she was playing it, it’s just…boring.
What I like:
-I don’t really like much so far, since I’ve been using mostly cc I don’t even rely on maxis made things anymore so I didn’t pay attention to the clothes and the hair. Some EA hairs look like some cc creators hair, for example the braided swooped high ponytail. It looks exactly like sheabuttyr’s hair.
-the fair is very cute but I wish there were more rides.
-the world is very beautiful but I hate that it’s still small.
Anything extra:
-I feel two things: one; the sims keep releasing packs that modders have made for some reason. I remember seeing the trailer for the werewolf mod when it first came out unless it was a joke, and all of s sudden the sims team came out with werewolves. I’ve seen on gameplays this one simmer had a go to school mod and I’m assuming it was kind of popular, and now the sims team made this pack. Maybe they’re doing everything they can to keep simmers playing with their stuff. Two; EA seriously needs to stop making packs and actually fix the game so there’s not as much bugs in it, starting with base game. Everytime there’s an update something always goes wrong (ik that if you have mods and cc that’s the biggest reason why) but I hate how everything is always messed up. The other expansion packs are either lackluster or just broken and now would be a perfect time to fix that instead of releasing more broken content. I see a lot of people complaining but still buying packs as if that’s gonna change anything too. Also the minor updates that don’t really change anything? I really wished they stopped those because it’s basically pointless.

This is one of the better FGG videos recently. I think this was a well-rounded review for the different aspects of the pack. I'm personally not too interested in the gameplay because I had a similar high school experience to FGG (having a bad time lol). The build/buy is probably the best part.

Honestly I 100% agree with this I was also not excited when it was first announced ,the build buy, cas and gameplay was good but like you said there is something missing and I can't quite place it, it is like they are almost there and it's great to see improvements, but is it worth the $ like you said it depends on preference
When I heard the name coppervale I was so excited bc I thought they were going to go for a riverdale vibe where you can solve mysteries but noooooo all we got was prom, a ferris wheel and a fire drill.
You should build a dorm rooms like a dorm rooms with the high school pack each of them are different type of like student like golf emo aesthetic like that I think that would be fun maybe if you like to build or you can do each cover of the rainbow and I do stamps according to that room so you can customize a character and then let them live out there like that I think that'd be really cool
I pre-ordered HS. It's been working so far for me. Lunch lady came about 7-ish in the morning as soon as my Sims came to school, and once I figured out how to do the school playing, students usually will go to class. However, if their fun or something is low, they'll do what one of mine did, and go up to the business class to the computer and play games or something, instead of attending class. But if everything is wonderful, they'll head to class. I've been playing with the Buffy set of teens I pre-made for the HS pack, and that's how it went for me. Haven't had prom yet, but last time I played, it said that it was this Saturday and that exams were due this Friday, so that sounds fun I guess. When I was in HS in real life, I didn't experience prom until my senior year, and I went with my best friend, whom is still my bff to this day, despite living in different states these days. I can't wait to try this pack out with my other set of teens I created as well. A few of the Teen Wolf teens.

I will be totally honest, I wasn't sure about getting this pack. However, I do have a lot of teens in my game and I do have stories planned for them. Since I've seen you play the game and show us what it has in store, I do wanna get it! But I need to build my old high school.....which in itself is a dump but not as bad as copperdale high 🤣🤣🤣 thank you fakegamergirl! You beautiful og💜
In Canada the expansion packs are 54.99 plus tax, I love the cas and build buy items but might just wait until it goes on sale because the game play and bugs that are happening just don't seem like it is worth 54.99 basically 56 canadian dollars. :(
I really really wish they would have added an attraction system (as a base game update) for the release of either My Wedding Stories or High School packs. I think it would have been really appropriate. It’s way too easy to woo people.
Thanks for saying something about the annoying phone use. I hate my phone IRL. I don't want my Sims ignoring what they are doing or walking and pull out their phone. And it's in the update, so it's everywhere.

I found a bug in CAS with one pair of pants, if you aren’t wearing a shirt you can see it. For some reason it deletes your midriff, so your torso is just floating above the pants, I’ve only tried it on a female sim so I don’t know if it works on male sims. The bottom half of the pants’ swatches has the bug, the top half is totally normal
The day was February 17, 2021. I was checking my UA-cam to see who had posted and sure enough, Fakegamergirl posted a new video. And what was that video? Her making her own high school pack since the Sims didn't have one. And now there is an official pack. I swear you are predicting the future.

This expansion was my birthday gift. I'm enjoying parts of it, but some of the glitches are glaring. Like saying my teen will be considered a drop out even if they've been told they can graduate early.

I never went to high school, but I feel like that was accurate based on what I've heard. On a side note, I'm autistic too and as much as I'm in the same boat as you with hating change the new phone isn't a problem for me. I think it's really cool and so much better than the phone we had before. That was just a mess. It's so much easier to use now as opposed to the old phone where people had to be like "Okay. Where the flying fuck is this thing I'm looking for?" In conclusion I agree that it could've been done better. (Even though I can't speak from experience because Walmart doesn't fucking have this pack.) I'm not complaining though because you can actually send your teens to high school now wish I think is really great. Also, I like what you did with your hair. Kind of looks like cotton candy. Not gonna lie.

So, I'm a console player, and when I tried to sell my clothes on Trendi and ship the clothes to the customer it didn't work. Is that for everyone or is it just a console thing, or just a me thing?

I really liked everything about it (although prom once a week was ridiculous). I like everything that came with it, but unfortunately after a couple of months, my sim would keep getting expelled from school every time she came home from school. Tried reinstalling it, repairing it, nothing worked 😣

I was playing today and two teen Sims who were both friends of my teen girl Nikki , on a Saturday, just walked right into my Sims home and first 1 guy named Jeb with a thick ass black beard, came in and asked Nikki's mom to be his best friend, when they hadn't even met yet, I had her turn him down, since it fit with my Sims mom, ( because she's actually very mean and hates children ) then before I could get the mom to tell Jeb to get out of her house, suddenly Sidney Price also came right into their house and also asked Nikki's mom to be his best friend, and again Nikki's mom doesn't know Sidney!
It's times like these I wish we had the option for a mean Sims to REALLY holler at another Sims and tell them to get out of their house, because her telling them to " go away " just doesn't cut it, heck if I had the Extreme Violence Mod in my game, I would have had her hit them both with a bat and make them leave!
Now this is after the NEW patch today, like wow thanks, Maxis, " Gurus " thanks for a new bug, or is this just something that was already in the game from the last patch/bugs?
What happened is good if you are wanting funny things to happen, but not when your trying to make sure your lead Sims is doing everything they need to do to succeed in High School, and it was rather shocking seeing two teen males just come through my Sims front door, while the mom is sitting on the couch watching TV and my Sim is sleeping, since she had stayed up painting until 6am, and her father was at work, so if this was real life, it would look like they waited until the husband/father left, before coming into their house, without knocking even!
We had this problem in Apartments after they came out, and the a" Gurus " said it was probably because the other Sims has the Goofball trait, which the one doing it, did not, actually it was 2 of them, because they were married and neither had the Goofball trait!
Now it's happening again, but it's somehow even more creepier then before, because they're asking a woman neither had met to be their best friends, woman's daughter is asleep down the hall in her room, and they both had friendships with her, it's almost like the game got the mom mixed up for the daughter, except the guys said her name, not the daughters name!
Maybe I will put Extreme Violence mod back in, so that the next time some guys just walk into my Sims house, I can have her shoot them, lol!
Oh also while in school, a lot of people kept walking through walls, even when there was NOTHING keeping them from going the normal rout, like through the doorway just a foot way from them, and not a soul near it or them, lol!
Waiting for a sale to get this pack, but this school really needs a revamp, it reminds me of an hospital and I almost miss the ugly high school I went to (the only good part was that the art teacher made us tag the walls)
Hope it will finally give me something to do instead of waiting for the teens to come back from school
This is entirely unrelated, but I, too, am autistic and hate change, so the Amphibia ending absolutely broke me because not only did one of my comfort shows end, but a show that I used for escapism ended by spitting the painful truth of reality back in my face. I ugly cried.

9:07 You perfectly described my play style. Additionally, I actually _prefer_ packs that add to current gameplay, like Seasons, because I feel I get more use out of them. In contrast, packs like Werewolves would require a Werewolves-dedicated save, etc. Maybe I should consider finally ending my EA boycott...
The one thing holding me back is that I have a lot of school trauma, so it may trigger me, like how I have to play with Discover University disabled because it essentially guilt-trips you into taking your sims to college. I already feel bad about my decision to not go to college myself; I don't want to deny my sims a higher education because the college gameplay stresses _me_ out.

Ah the fire alarm! My record was twice in a day... In real life, not in the game. Twice in a day, literally right before Christmas vacations in a Canadian winter. North American school, am I right? Where was the fire you may ask? There was no fire, the system was bugging all the time and let the alarm off at random.
I hadn’t been this excited for a pack in *years* and I’m still excited about it even though I own it! I agree that the world is lackluster but I am prone to buying packs just for BB *or* CAS items, so the fact that this pack has so many of *both* with all of my fave aesthetics, in addition to finally making an effort to further differentiate teens from adults with the gameplay and new traits…. Yeah, I absolutely would have paid full price for this one even though I didn’t 🤣
I am glad I am not the only one not very jazzed for this pack. I posted on another video that I dont really do family gameplay and why would you want to relive the trauma of high school and people basically shamed me saying high school was great for them and that I must just been damaged to not like this concept. Build buy looks good, but I dont know if its good enough for me to buy it just for that.
I defo think I'll love this pack for a bit and then the gameplay will get boring after a bit. Tho that build buy and cas tho 👀

I love your commentary. High school was pretty much a blurr for me and we didn't have cellphones, laptops, or social media. Hell, we didn't have internet. We had like one home computer that we used to play games and do word processing and computer class homework-- except my school used Macs and we had PC so the files weren't compatible. I never actually used my locker in high school. I just lugged all my books around, but we had a thing where we only had 4 classes a day instead of 8 so I only had to bring half the books. That cafeteria looks nothing like any school ones I had. The cafeterias in schools here greatly resemble prison cafeterias. The middle school is run like a prison as well. Did I mention incarceration rates are really high here?
Gotta admit, I have no interest in this pack. I don't play with kids or teens in my game so there's no point. I only play with adults and pets.
If there are any new like kitchen or cooking items I *might* consider getting it when it goes on sale-- if only for the objects.

I took my sim to school and was quite happy and curious about it and met the other sims that were there and made a good friend and met a boy and it was a good first day. I went back the second day and like 3/4 of the students had been replaced with other teens, and my whole class were the most generic boring looking sims... :(

I'm primarily a builder and spend forever in CAS so I do like the pack for the most part, but I am upset that it cost so much for mostly BB items and so little gameplay. I'd be overjoyed if it were a gamepack though!
i’ll just wait for a sale. when i was younger i’d buy the expansion packs at the $40 selling price, but i definitely won’t be making those mistakes again
Sooo, when I downloaded the expansion I actually liked it, then it came time to prom…it never happened, I went to the pre-prom party and went home, and I never got the pop up to travel to prom and my sim is now depressed because she missed prom, no one is talking about this glitch but when I looked it up there are people saying it’s a conflict between the get involved pack and this one. Get involved generates a lot of events in the calendar cause of them to over look the high school year events, I don’t want to have to turn off get involved but I actually want to enjoy this pack ;(
Edit:it actually might be get famous, I’m seeing a lot of people saying the talent show stops prom from happening.

For some reason the pack doesn’t work for me. Like the prom is announced but it doesn’t happening and as it’s Saturday 7:00 pm literally nothing happens only that I get from my PROM DATE a sentiment that I DIDNT invite him to prom… also my sim does an excellent work at school but her grades don’t go up higher like why

I've honestly been quite enjoying this pack. I normally don't buy packs not on sale but EAs buy early for extra content marketing scheme worked on me. I think I've been lucky as I haven't been experiencing a whole lot of bugs but the ones I have experienced have been kinda funny. I think I've been enjoying it because normally I don't do much with my teen sims normally other then make them do homework so its be fun doing something different. I am at least slightly regret not waiting till a sale cause I'm broke now.
