Hi, I'm a professional (40 yrs) and this is my first door lock replacement on these Chrysler sliding doors and found myself overwhelmed w/ all that had to be removed just to reach the door lock solenoid. I got as far as I was almost able to remove the entire assembly but hit a snag. Your instruction to tilt the last 6 inches and slide the whole assembly is just what I needed to hear, thanks for taking the time to video and explain how to get the job done.
This is the best method by far. I'm impressed you got the window guide in there while attached to the whole assembly! I've done our 2010 passenger side 3x and now that one is dead. Screw it-I'm going to relocate my actuator so its just behind the panel. My theory is the door lock rod is too long and has too much resistance snaking in and out of all that crap causing the motors to fail. I seem to get 1.5-2 years out of the actuator...really bad design.
I just got done with this headache.. What i did was remove mudule and bracket from the panel, worked with window rail until properly seated, bolted window railto the sliding door, then the back 3 torque screws.. left all wire harness attacted by pulling slack out of it, but locking bar then carefully put it back in the clip.. after that it was all gravey..
Take the window out get the actuator in and then u can guide the window into the slide you have to remove the black trim panel on the outside rear of the door so double sided tape, and then you tilt window back and take out from outside the car
I just meet the same problem in these 2 weeks. The actuator is making noise and stops working intermittently. I took the actuator out and opened it on Sunday. The teeth of the plastic gear were damaged and got grooves on them. I am waiting for the new actuators to come so that I am able to complete the job.
I can't believe the number of videos about this repair and how long this issue has been going on. So, there's no recall, and the DOT does nothing to force Chrysler/Dodge to address this issue. Thanks to everybody who has contributed to the fix.
Just because of that issue if I knew before probably never by this car 👎 to the designer for that shitty conception I will keep away from Chrysler cars in the future
I'm in the middle of this as well. I got everything back in, but having trouble connecting the window guide (running blind) and getting the window back onto it's bolted pieces. I'm a little lost but still tinkering.
good job. just to add one thing. we could not got the door latch to go all the way flush. there is a lever we flicked over. it sits under the three bolt holes. went flush when we flicked it.
amigo como se instala el mecanismo de cerradura otra vez para poder cerrar el panel. yo saque todo para cambiar el Actuator pero al meter todo el mecanismo dentro de la puerta es muy dificil. me puedes decir como se hace????
Been working on this for 4 hrs. I'm to the part of putting window guide in. Does the rail go behind the electric motor or in front. That's the part you took a break. And magically it was put in. My advice to anyone. Take it to a dealer .
@@inventanew Fortunately no. I suggest to manually close the door slowly and feel for any resistance. Possibly something caught in the door. I've had my kids swing the seat belt out and get it caught on the bottom of the door causing it to do the close and open. Let us know what you find, please. I don't like cliff hangers. lol
Keep trying. It took me a while also, if you get frustrated take a break and clear the mind. I did that and when I was about to give up the second time it went in. this is the second time I install the actuator.

The door on my 2016 town and country van is locked. After I open the panel how would I unlock the door? Please let me know, much appreciated! Thanks!

Waranty is extended on door issue for year 2015-2017
Don’t do anything yourself just take it to Chrysler dealer and get fixed at no charge.

Im in the middle of doing this, this was engineered to drive you to the dealer to do this, that bike break mechanism was the trickiest
