  • This is a super easy and super yummy Garlic Fried Rice 蒜蓉炒饭. Try it and let us know what you think.
    By the way, did you know that the first fried rice dish even done was back during Sui Dynasty in China? That means all variations of fried rice available in different cuisines today all trace back to China. I like how different cultures interwine together because of food. It's food without borders indeed! Super awesome!
    In Japan, fried rice also known as Chāhan (チャーハン) or Yakimeshi (焼飯) is a Chinese-derived fried rice suited to the taste of local Japanese with the addition of katsuobushi as flavouring and prepared with different ingredients. In Philippines, garlic fried rice is called sinangág, which s a common part of a traditional Filipino breakfast, usually prepared with leftover rice from the dinner before.
    See the ingredient list below for your easy reference.

    as a Japanese we add 3 additional steps: cook the rice 1 night before and store it in refrigerator. before putting the rice into the pan mix the rice with 2tbs of light mayonaise. and after add the salt follow with add 0,25tbs of sugar cane sugar.

    Sharing a tip that worked for me: if I’m doing fried rice for dinner, I freeze the cooked rice for 1 hour (after it has cooled down) in the early afternoon, and refrigerate it until I need to cook. The rice texture is just nice for cooking fried rice, not mushy at all. That’s my hack for “overnight rice” 🍚🍙🍛🤫

    • @spicenpans
      @spicenpans  5 років тому +4

      Awesome! Great sharing, Selene. Thanks so much for the hack. :o)

    • @IslandGal96816
      @IslandGal96816 3 роки тому

      @Selene Wee.... I always have such a hard time making the right texture of loose fried rice served like in any chinese restaurant, no matter what. I tried with cold overnight rice, turned off the stove after I poured the rice in the pan and mixed in with other ingredients, used high heat, used jasmine/long grain rice, etc. They always turned mushy and not loose anymore 😢 The culprit may be that I cooked it on electric stove, instead of gas stove 🤷‍♀️

    Love the garlic chips! I like that and will use it next time. We Filipinos love garlic fried rice, especially for breakfast. My mom taught me how to make it. Different from yours (no chicken powder and just the rice without added egg etc), but still nice to see your own way of making this popular dish.
