Your vid just popped randomly for me today Nov.13,2023.I jave th3 Longitude 12 footer and bg 8000 and man oh man, that set up is an absolute BEAST. I dont know why the people in comments are bashing the rod.
@macmobilestudio yea it did especially since I live in Philly area and never have stuff messed with I even leave my rods out etc know one touches but in NC in a nice beach town have about $500 to $600 in gear Goodluck with the Longtitude it's a nice rod imo
Little tip - throw your new braided line in a 5 gallon bucket of water and just let it float in there, tie it to your reel, then start reeling (still leaving the new line spool in the water bucket) and load up your spool with wet line. The water will help your line sit nice and tight and have no air gaps that cause line compression later, and it will cast much better starting out. You will thank me once you try it.
@@lucabrazzi-vlog I just spooled a reel and didn't video it. But it's as simple as tying the line to your reel, throw the new line spool in a 1/2 full bucket of water, and start reeling while putting tension on the line with your other hand (just like you did in this video). The new line spool will float and freely unwind while you're reeling and the water helps your line lay perfectly. You could probably make something fancy to hold your line in the bucket of water, but it's not necessary.
how do u like it after a while? I already have the reel and just added the exact rod to my cart and before I pulled the trigger I looked up reviews and found this video.
I really liked but eventually switched out the BG for the Saltist and left it outside my house in NC and the combo setup got stolen :( but the BG reel in any size is great (maybe my favorite esp when on a budget) The Okuma Rod was nice too Fairly light and cast well in the surf

It would be a big help if you've written the specs of the rod, braid name, pritce etc. at the video description. Also shorten the video to only usable parts.
Good reel, rod is a crap shoot as the production on these is very inconsistent. Many people have had sections of this model rod crack or the first 10 inches of the rod just snaps off while using within the rods specifications .
Thanks for the info Yes I love the BG reel So far the rod has been ok Just having a hard time getting 10foot long rods. I ordered a Daiwa rod but Amazon had issues so it never came so just settled. My surf setups aren't always great since I beat then up. My kayak setups I am a little more particular with. Thanks for the info And tight lines
$100 range rod that can take serious abuse (2022 Penn Battalion ll ) built with Fuji Alconite guides and Fugi reel seat for only $109.00. Alconite for $100 range is amazing

@@lucabrazzi-vlog I'm actually a Northern California Lamiglas GSB rod die hard and would recommend a old school GSB as a #1 choice to anyone in the suds but their a premium high end rod at a premium price. The battalion ll is a inexpensive rod with unusually high end components for the price and is available on Ebay. OKuma wise this rod is made from Bamboo components thus the fails. I would ask Okuma for credit or money back as they did this huge ad campaign on the rod but but failed to mention the bamboo components.

Any chance you have a vid of doing it that way?

No you want your braid to be as tight as possible. If you can dig a fingernail into your spool then it’s too loose
Thanks for showing how to make those double drop rigs!
You're welcome they are pretty simple have a newer vid with a little more detail

I just bought a new bg 4500. Its way bigger than i thought, gonna get a slammer IV 3500
For the price especially in the salt the BG is a great value
how does the 4500 compare to the 4000? bigger spool? I'm debating what size I should get for my second rod.
You know I don't feel a difference
Can't go wrong for the price with any BG
I drop these in the sand, salt water and they just keep working

Can you use this rod and reel for casting lures?
Yes I have thrown some epoxy lures and even some swim baits with it in the surf
Would be fine a big pier too
mine broke the first week casting 1 0z plug !
