It's the mother of all Star Trek books video!!!! 👍
It was worth it! Good to have all these under the one video but even this isn't everything 🖖
I really enjoyed this, it makes me want to pull out my Star Trek books, my shelves are double stacked and quite full so it will be a project. I know I had a lot of them, I remember a lot fondly. Thank you for tweaking my memories.
Excellent, thanks Sherri🖖
Jules, the Questor Tapes was also a Gene Roddenberry TV Movie back in 1974 which featured his wife Majel Barrett and Walter Koenig among the cast.
For sure, the Star Trek blood line in The Questor Tapes is irrefutable. I've never seen it though🙂
I believe that Leonard Nimoy was either in the pilot , or was going to be in the TV series , and caused Nimoy and Roddenberry to fall out , which is why it was so difficult to get Nimoy for the motion picture .
@@heydon2012 He wasn't in the pilot. As far as the two having a falling out, I don't know. Nimoy had finished his stint on Mission: Impossible and was in the middle of doing the voicework for Spock for the Star Trek animated series when this pilot was filmed, so maybe that's why he didn't do it, if in fact he was considered.
In the book Star trek movies by William Shatner and Chris Kreski , Shatner does an interview with Leonard Nimoy , where Nimoy states that he was hired to work with Gene on the Questor project ,m and that Robert Foxworth, was hired, Gene claims "behind his back " Leonard Nimoy says that he confronted Gene and Gene said hed tell the press Nimoy was "unavailable " which Nimoy says wasn't true he wasn't unavailable, to which Gene says "you tell your story I'll tell mine" that show was then retitled "The Questor Tapes" .
@heydon2012 honestly the quester android was way too much like Spock anyway and I have a feeling that Nimoy realized that he would just be repeating himself, only without the ears. Most great actors don't want to repeat themselves.😮😮😮
Awesome video! Thanks man! Big respect from Russia! Star trek forever!
Thanks my friend 🖖
Thanks Jules - I’ve been waiting for this video for ages. Great stuff.
Thanks Paul, I'm looking forward to doing the other series soon. This run is just terrific though🖖
Another amazing (and enviable) collection!
Thanks Bob, I really love classic Trek🖖
Great video! The Trek books with the Timescape logo brings back lots of memories.
Thanks. The Timescape ones are certainly amongst my favourites!
Nice look at your Star Trek paperbacks. There are so many to collect for the budding fan.
I have a copy of the UK Futura Motion Picture paperback but need to repair the spine as the glue has gone to dust. Otherwise, I am on the lookout for the sixth movie novelisation to complete the film collection.
Thanks again.
Thanks! The movie adaptations are amongst the toughest to find in first printing tbh. Plenty of repair videos on my channel to assist in that repair though🖖
Those James Blish numbered books are so nice looking. I've got a few of them myself.
They are lovely, beautiful jackets!
There are two volumes of the Next Generation Nit Pickers Guide, and a DS9 one too.
Indeed, I shall include them when I get round to the later series. They were so well put together, when watching an episode I would have them on standby🙂🖖
Not quite TOS, but I bought ‘The Return’ by William Shatner from W.H.Smiths in the late 90’s. That was by ‘Pocket Books’ showing how Titan was being fazed out.
Great, enjoyable video.
Yes, probably during the transition period.
Amazing upload and collection, thank you for sharing. The condition of them is amazing considering the age. I will be getting mine out of storage and going down the rabbit hole of collecting Trek books again. But sticking to the American printings. I was always more a TNG guy but need to look how many I have that are not Titan🤞🙏👍. Thanks again for the awesome insight 😊
Great stuff. The good news is that on the whole, these are still very reasonably priced and the early books sold stacks, so copies are definitely out these. Well worth collecting🖖
Vulcan Academy Murders: cover blurb mentions Kirk; cover art depicts Spock :D
Definitely a Spock centric book!
Alan Dean Foster is just plain a fun writer wether Trek or his own stuff.
Agreed, he's great!
Great video. I too was vexed at the cross over system of milking the fans. Comic do it , so why not the ST books. Later on the STNG will meet The X-Men . As always thanks for the video.
Thanks Sylvan, yes we will take a look at the XMen crossover in due course 🖖
Juliette says "hi !!"
Thanks Chris! I know I gave you a shout out but can't remember if I mentioned her too. 🙂🖖
Got all the UK paperbacks from the 1970s.
These were my first ones, the Corgi editions, but I really prefer the USA editions. Just beautiful covers. 🖖
Wow great collection, strange how the timescape reprints are slightly shorter
When you say they are shorter, do you mean they are abridged?
Not abridged, The ones with out the timescape logo are just physically not as tall, but not by much
@RX79818 Great information, thanks 🙂🖖
Hello from Aussie. Great Video. I have collected Pocket book and the earlier Star Trek (all series) books for Some time. Need one more fotonovel. I have never heard of the cook book. It is on my want list now. The Condition of your books is great. Do you clean them with Anything?
All my books go through a vigerous cleaning regime. Many videos on this and many other dedicated cleaning channel 🖖
Great collection. Just a quick note the Tales from the Captain's Table collection is actually a follow up to the other Captain's Table novels with different stories so if you don't have them they are worth getting. 🖖
EDIT there is also an omnibus of the first 6 novels simply called Captain's Table
Ah right, great info. I'll admit to not researching these later books much, yet!
@JulesBurt No probs I just thought it might be useful if you happen to see them on your travels.
I'm fairly new to your channel having discovered you via the Outlaw Bookseller channel.
I'm enjoying going through your back catalogue as it were. Thanks for yhe great videos and for making my book wishlist longer!
@new_mercury5367 thanks and sorry about adding to your lists🙂
Thanks for the video. Are the books actually enjoyable to read? Which story would you suggest to start with to get a good idea of how they are in regards to quality? Thank you.
On the whole they are of an excellent quality. I recommend The Kobyashi Maru as a good starting point.
@@JulesBurt thank you for replying
Hello sir do you have Star Trek and Doctor Who comic books?
Not any more but I have access to both via a couple of friends.
