Wrong seals, looks like you used .530 seals. Typical sbc heads are 5.61 diameter and should use shitty umbrella seals. I just cut a set of 882's earlier for the style seal your using.

why cant u put the oring seal on before u put spring on?

I tried that and once I compress the spring the o ring slips down on top of the seal. How ? idk.

The oring seal can easily be damaged so putting it on after is better though not easier ✌️
