I got an old neglected sod buster jr yellow in the bottom of a box at a flea market for 5 dollars. Took it home removed the rust, polished the blade, and sharpened it. It is my favorite knife and has been with me for 10 years.
This is the first of your videos I have seen. Great carry collection! I just bought my first two traditional slipjoint knives. One is a Rough Ryder hawkbill (RRR038) and the other is a custom made single blade that resembles your Tony Bose @ 15:15 but with a blade that resembles a sodbuster. Desert Ironwood with bronze bolsters. The bronze has a great patina already. Made by UA-camr Inmyshed. THANKS for this great look and explanation of your beautiful carry knives!!
I carry a Sears Stockman that my Father-in-law gave be back in the mid 90s. He used to work at a knife making plant in NY back in the late 70s, which is where it was manufactured. I think it was a Schrade/Old Timer plant before they shipped production over to China. Edc it in a DIY LEATHER POCKET ORGANIZER. Love this knife.
You have some of the most beautiful knives, I would love to get a burlap micarta trapper. I really like those Sodbuster knives too. God bless you and have a great week.
Gorgeous group of daily user knives. One of my top five is my case copperhead. Nice clip point and a smaller pen/spear point. I like the stockman and sod buster quite a bit myself. I like my bugout a lot as well. I agree on the benchmade pricing is getting to be too much. I luckily got mine at a good price compared to the current pricing. I like my buck knives as well they make good products. I have two sprints (modern flipper) and a 112.
I abuse the knife I carry so I usually carry a knock-off sodbuster and I have a tiny little case with three blades that are maybe a little longer than an inch I bought off of eBay for maybe twenty bucks it sharpens really good which is why I carry it.
Another and maybe the main reason for the indented bolster on a Copperlock/copperhead is so the squared off back of the blade is not exposed to wear a hole in your pocket
Awesome group of knives!! I love the whiskey bone CV knives. I have a tribal lock in the whiskey bone. I believe the shield is pewter, but I wouldn't swear to it. Love your videos. Keep it up
I can understand the love for the sodbuster, if I didn't carry a modern folder then I would probably carry one with my favored stockmans along with other various work knife patterns like the Mercator K55K, queen big chief, and granddaddy barlows. I grew up with a stockman and camp knife in my pocket. Starting in middle school I carried them all the time everywhere which is something I wouldn't dare to try now but things were definitely different even back 10-16 years ago when I would would have been in middle school and highschool.
Great collection. Ive been using a gerber 600 multitool as edc. lately working on machines and in the garden and such, but nothing beats a traditional bone handled classic pocket knife. Nice sodbusters you got. They really showcase the bone scales. My blue russlock and orange muskrat bone case knives are for days when I'm not doing chores because they are so nice, though they are good work knives.
CV...Carbon Vanadium CS...Carbon Steel I've got the Sodbuster bug as well & LOOOVE that thin one your brother got ya...such a perfect looking knife!💪😎👍
Cool knives! I recommend you try out a Case single-blade sowbelly with carbon blade and yellow delrin scales. Super comfortable in both hand and pocket. 👍
Was beginning to think you were not going to mention the Wharnecliffe blade, love this blade shape, mainly use a pocket knife for whittling and general usage. But at the last minute you redeemed yourself in my eyes, lol only kidding, love the content.
That carbon micarta trapper is gorgeous brother. Trappers are my favorite with that heavy snap seems more durable to me. But im with ya i been waiting on a soddy with a lanyard for years
New subscriber. I am going back to start collecting some Case knives after a long dry spell. I love my 940 and Bugout too, but were way cheaper when I got em. Have you looked at the new Case Westline as a modern. That thing is sexy, USA but is 160.
I’m trying to figure out what knot you use to secure the thread at the beginning and end when making your leather knife slips. Want to take a shot of making me one from from scrap leather from old boots 👢
Yea! I love my griptillian and Bugout but Benchmade has lost track of reality. Quality, yes; but astronomical prices with a lack of innovation...just increasing the prices on products made with cheaper materials. It’s boring all around. Picked up 2 Sod Buster Jrs. today and I love the idea of these timeless, to be actually used, knives building character with use. My daily carry may never be the same!!
I've discovered over the years that biting your tongue beats hot pizza burning the roof of your mouth every time. Yall be safe brother and thanks again
Beautiful Case knives! Case is my favorite brand!! Have a good one!!

That’s a nice selection of EDC slip joint knives. - Tennessee Smoky
Hope that things go well for you on moving into your new home.

Nice collection, I too love trappers and sodbusters…..carry at least one of each every day. Great video

They are a great pattern
I've had several Copperlocks, never a wharncliff though, just haven't run into 1 at the right time
Cool knives! I recommend you try out a Case single-blade sowbelly with carbon blade and yellow delrin scales. Super comfortable in both hand and pocket. 👍
I like the Sowbelly
CV on the blade means Chrome Vanadium. CS is Carbon Steel, and SS of course is Stainless Steel.
Was beginning to think you were not going to mention the Wharnecliffe blade, love this blade shape, mainly use a pocket knife for whittling and general usage. But at the last minute you redeemed yourself in my eyes, lol only kidding, love the content.
Hard to beat a wharncliff for fine work or splinter pickin
Nice....I feel the same way about modern folders.

A man who thinks like I do!
Nice to see someone my age, who enjoys pocket knives like I do!
God bless you and your family.

I love my Bugout
I like them, but I’ve never actually picked one up
I’m trying to figure out what knot you use to secure the thread at the beginning and end when making your leather knife slips. Want to take a shot of making me one from from scrap leather from old boots 👢
I just cut the thread off short and use a lighter to melt the thread and mash it down with my finger
I just cut the thread off and melt the end with a lighter, push down with my finger

@ GEORGIA ADVENTURER What You think of all the knit Picking case haters on UA-cam ?
It doesn’t bother me…everyone has an opinion! I do think they could do a little better, but case makes a great knife
I have a tb panama trapper that's trash. Blades wobble a ton and also not centered at all. Beautiful knife tho otherwise
CV = Chrome Vanadium
Knives or good
