I feel your pain on that viking. Some quick thoughts/ideas if you wanna keep it: 1. Backup Zeus. 2 er large (or I. Heavy), mrm or micro missles - use the multi track and just hole punch+ critseek everything that gives a green number. Might be too spicy though. 2. Thunderbolt 15s and er ppcs and just focus on destroying armor since you have 3+ mechs/vehicles with lrms. Edit: this synergizes with the innate multitarget and breaching if you keep the fcs. Might also mean some hilarious headshots if you just snapshot 4 different targets and do indirect breaching shots 3. Nlrm (or just regular IS... or CE if you get hella lucky) and use the multitrac to spread acid, typhon, emp, thunder augmented (eg. Status effect build). I know baradul's current game uses quicksell 20s for mines because their miss effect is MASSIVE spread... but I personally think mines alone are useless. 4. I dunno - risc mml like it was and dump assloads of srms into people? Probably too slow though. 5. More elrms and a c3i and lean into your statement that, paraphrasing, elrm are the new artillery
I'm liking 2 the best purely for those annoying situations where you need something dead, but some idiot is giving you a green line from across the map and you really wanna punish them so your bandits can pop them later, but this f*ing Demolisher is in your face.
Viking might be ok if its faster, throw the hardened back in and go ripping around with some closer-ranged, missile puke all over people up close. Oh- I had a thought about the Wraith, with those little SRM's, you could put AX in there to debuff enemy armour if its available for them
It could start out with something simple like spamming SRM-4s, & 2 PPCs with turret mounts being the most expensive parts, or 2 L ER pulse with Insulators(again your more expensive parts), & LRM-10s. The multi trac can help this mech be something of a finisher when your other heavy hitters fall just a bit short, also you should take advantage of the multi track function in your mortar command mech, save ammo with precision.
When you're done with xcom/phoenix point you should do that Warhammer Chaos Gate game. I think it has a bunch of DLC etc. out and it was always pretty enjoyable to watch.
I find superheavies are very susceptible to 50-55 ton mechs built for backstabbing. I've got a stormcrow that jumps 11 and just cracks them open using OP, a RAC 5 and bunch of magshot. Then there's ol' faithful, a salamander ppr-6u with 60 elrm. Practically untouchable and hits like SRM's at those ranges. I park that one as faaaaar away as possible, got 720 fun time shots.
It would be cool if you shared screen caps of your Mac loadouts… That’s always one of the most interesting parts to me is how people are building their lances what equipment they are using, etc. for instance, I’ve never gotten much out of a C3 system. I still don’t see the point in it… But perhaps I am missing something.
What to do with the Viking? Heill I dont know. I would most likley sell it if I had one tbh. What u should do in my opinion is to ally with a faction. I am allied right now with the Lyrans and I bought yesterday like 3 or 4 Upper Recoil+ in the shop from the Lyrans. Food for thoughts. Keep up the great work👍
Economy is ok for SH if you pop back to Solaris now and then. Do ten 4x4 battles, grab 30mil quite easily and be on your way. Running four fully optimised SH mechs now doing this.
@@paganhorde4463 they could scale it back a bit for sure, but for me the dynamic as it is speaks to their rarity and uniqueness. End game was never meant to be easy 😂
Have you considered adding a mod for just a couple points more salvage per mission? It gets spectacularly frustrating to run into just over and over being *not QUITE* able to get the awesome mech 'cause it's an impossible salvage number to get.
@@paganhorde4463 Man, that kinda sucks, would be a lot more fun if you could tinker with that a bit. They just have the economy kinda messed up, it feels, the rewards just scale so poorly with the difficulty.
The no visuals crap is what's killing your hit chances. That is not the good Serket you had last run. You could take parts and mix with a better variant. Pirate FCS is REALLY good it's my favorite. Could make the Viking a 100 missile mech. Or maybe MMS?

I had a viking 3W variant packed to the gills with MMS, mostly for a cheesy duel mech. I eventually shelved it, and just went with MRM Longbow RX
Those are all good ideas, but like @maeltac says. It will be outperformed by mechs with missiles affinity
You absolutely took a dump on those super heavys 😂

Ax on the wraith is a really good idea
You are reaching territory I have not even gone to yet, my friend… Godspeed.
glad to see you using that terrain
Oh snap! Wasn't expecting this. Time to drop what I'm doing and enjoy some delicious mech carnage!
You can make the Viking into a really fast over heater with either SRMs, MRMs or MMS and inferno ammo. put a big engine in it
I like the Viking, it's definitely a brawler with no specialization, just good base for a solid build that could be Zeus light.

Thanks for the suggestion
@@paganhorde4463 That's a good suggestion. Chaos Gate scratches the right itch.

Sad to see that disco AMS being passed up if it's the 1 I remember.
Sensors are pure rng adding equipment that boosts them mainky counters the low rolls so you dont get stupid negative values.

I have a video on C3 system that might help you
The thing is that they Nerf artillery because of how the players use them… But it also makes fighting your opponents a hell of a lot easier

hmmm... you are kind of proving my point. One should not have to grind 10 missions just to run SH.

Oh I could, I just wish it had missiles affinities for accuracy
