This is for people having the same problem in 2020. My Samsung TV does not have the small compartment mentioned in the video. So, I removed the back completely, and removed all the connections to boards. I left it for like 5 mins; put them back tightly and coupled the TV. And voila, my TV is up and running...
Thank you so much for making this video, you saved me a lot of stress and, of course, money. Thank you

I bought a Samsung 32 inch smart TV at the thrift store and it worked for a few hours but then started turning off by itself to the point it was unusable. I put it away for a few months then got it back out to give it one more try. Same issue. I came across Brie's video and realized my TV had the exact same little access panel with the one connector behind it. I pulled the connector, and sprayed the contacts with some De-oxit contact cleaner. It hasn't shut off since. As a technician, it seemed very unlikely that this one connector would play a role in this issue, but it's been rock solid for months now! Thanks, Brie!

UPDATE; After moving the HDMI cord from one port to another port, that did fix the problem and its been over a week and no problem of it cycling off and on. Cheap and easy fix. I don't have the trap door...
Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to share. I also saw the video to remove the entire back by unscrewing and that was becoming a nightmare thought but would have done it if I had to. I have the 40" KTXG 5300/manufactured in 2013 and in almost 4 yrs of having it, it just started a few days ago. My tv didn't seem to have the little trap door like yours so Rocky in the comments mentioned switching to another HDMI port to someone else. Hoping that helps my set. Time will tell and keeping my fingers crossed. Bottom line, thank you for sharing. I'm not a video person so I appreciate those who take the time to share. I'll be subscribing just for that and look forward to any other ideas you have and I'll be checking your other vids. Have a great day, thanks again, A

Thanks, Brie. Was having the same issue. Mine is a UN60F6300AF so it didn't have the small compartment as yours, so last Saturday I had to remove the complete back cover, unplugged the cable as yours and plugged it back real hard and it worked!!! Haven't had the problem since then. I can't tell you how relieved and happy I am. Thank you once again.

Thanks, Brie; you’re a God send! I have the same exact TV with the same issue. I was willing to spend “big bucks” to have it repaired, but your little trick prevented that. We are forever grateful. 😊 We love this TV because it’s the perfect size (46 inches) for a bedroom.

Thank you ! Thank you!! I spent way too much time researching on line, watching youtube videos, and talking to tech support with no answers! I was even considering opening the TV and trying something that was suggested on line.....or driving miles to take the TV to an authorized repairman. Then I saw your vidoe, and voila! In 2 seconds my problem was solved! The TV is us and running! I can't understand why Samsung tech support didn't know to tell me to try this!! Thanks again!

I was super skeptical about this fix, but all of my capacitors looked totally fine and none of the other fixes I found were any good. I also have a slightly different model tv than shown here, but once I got the back panel off and unplugged and replugged the connector between the power and control boards, the tv seems to be working again. Color me suprised and thankful. Saved me $200 and a lot of frustration with some sneaky tv repairmen.

Hi Brie, you have just fixed my TV!! We've been putting up with the on and off for weeks now, and it's been driving us mad assuming we'd have to buy a new TV! Its our dining room TV, but none the less it was annoying. Told my hubby about your quick fix - bit of a pain as it's attached to the wall - but I said it's better to try your fix rather than spend out on a new TV!! So, just wanted to say a huge thank you for posting your video of your quick TV fix!! You're a star - thank you! With love from the UK.

Amazing! Your solution worked for me!!! I've been suffering with my Samsung TV turning itself off and on for several months and have tried a few things mentioned on the internet but none of them worked. Five days later your solution worked and I haven't experienced the problem at all. For those who need additional details - just unplug and replug the ribbon cable connector found after removing the small door on the back of the TV. I unplugged and replugged it a few times and then made sure it was very securely pressed up into place. I hope this helps others!

@@rayraygoreng6264 I am not sure. For me, doing this has fixed my rv without any further problems and it has been a few years. Perhaps unplug and reseat it again.

Guys, this definitely fixes the tv. Hit it, I know this sounds funny, but hit the side of the tv, and it triggers the tv to turn on. My tv would keep turning on and off, and I would play PlayStation on it and it would be soooo annoying when it would turn on and off. Hit the side of the tv kind of hard, and it will trigger t to turn on. IT WORKS! Do it when it’s turning on and off! IT WORKS.

@@therockstar7443 Hey Rocky, I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping this worked. Time will tell but wanted to say thank you so much for saying something. Very nice and something you didn't have to do. Don't want to take away from Brie's helpful video. At least there's a few options before throwing out the whole dag gum thang. I don't seem to have the little trap door Brie's tv has and the last thing I wanted to do was tear it apart. Mine is the KTXG 5300. It was a freebie we won in a work raffle so until this its been great. I'll never actually buy a Samsung for it's privacy issues yada yada even though they all do it, Samsung is the worst of the major brands. I'm thankful for UA-cam and grateful for like you to who share your fixes and experiences. You're the best!! Adrian

Well my Samsung does not have a small door that is easy to get to. There are a couple of small squares which almost look like they could be it, but I've had no luck in trying to pry them open with a screw driver or pic. I used to work in old computer equipment though, and suspect you may be onto part of the problem. In old electronics involved in networking we used to have equipment that the contacts on connectors would carrode. You could not really see the corrosion, but when you rubbed the connectors with an eraser it brightened them and then they
would conduct and it would restore the device. I highly suspect from your video and others that this may be the problem, however the connectors look like they are pin connectors, so the actually connection depends on first a pin, and then a socket for it. You can probably get to one to clean it, but you most likely can't get to the other half of it. I'm wondering how you can clean both sides of pin connectors (the ones that seem to be inside these Samsung TVs and connect things to the power board.) I'm not really crazy about taking my tv apart, but it is having intermittant problems with rebooting every now and then. It seems to be worse for You Tube especially, and I suspect that may be just because that is what we are tuning into most when we turn it on. Eventually ours will settle down and work well.

A software update fixed mine. Evidently, this model had a software glitch that caused it to cycle on and off.
If you can access menu, do the update and wait a half hour. Then it should stay on. Good luck!

Sadly so many products no longer have a long life. I remember being able to repair my Mom’s 30 year old washer and dryer s few years ago so they both worked like new. Now a days it is more of a challenge due to computer chips, etc. That said, this fix has worked for me and I have used this tv every day since without anymore issues. I can understand and appreciate your frustration.
