- SAMSUNG UN70NU6900F NO VIDEO FLASHING SCREEN FIX WITH PAINTER'S TAPE, SYMPTOMS NO PICTURE, BLUE SCREEN, FLASHING SCREEN, UN70NU6900F FA01, YA02 REPAIR. FIX NO PICTURE ISSUE.
Like many, I too am only coming back here to express my gratitude. I replaced a 60” LG plasma that served for 11 years with the model on this video, so when it stopped working after less than two years I was furious.
THANK YOU for sharing the knowledge and making the steps in the video easy to follow.
FYI: I only blocked traces 13-16 from left to right on the top ribbon and voila…like new again. The true fix is to buy LG from now on lol.
Just got a free Samsung 75 inch that had this issue and your fix worked for me 100%. Can't thank you enough, keep up the great videos.
Dude, we found this TV on the side of the road with this same issue, and I fixed it in half an hour. You are the best thank you!!!!!!!! New 70inch TV for free!!!!!
Just took this exact same model tv out of garage(headed to the dumpster), tried this trick and it worked!!! Thank you for saving me from having to buy a new tv.
Omg you are a life saver. Our t.v went black and we followed your video step by step. It has a little grey or pink still on the end of it but we rather have that than a black screen. We are able to still watch our t.v. Until we get a new one. It was all about playing around with the tape size covering those little slits. You saved us 300 dollars to get it fixed, plus we never fixed a t.v. before. Thank you again
Thank you for the detailed video! Just tried the exact method and worked first time. 👏
I fixed my neighbour's TV .. Exactly how You demonstrated... Sincere thanks!!
I would've loved to send You the money but it isn't Me but I am so happy I could help someone 600$, just because of Your video. Keep up the Good work and I am sure Karma will get You back the compounding return for Your efforts!!
I'm just here to say THANK YOU!!!!!!! This saved me from having to replace my TV. I appreciate you!
I've got a Q80A so it's a little different than this one, but this is the best explanation in the thought process of actually figuring out what's going on this is so much better than 99% of other people that post TV repairs. Like this video will make it to where I am better at figuring other stuff out too. Thanks bro!
What else have you figured out, can you share ?
I just wanted to say thank you. I have that same model and that fix worked. I made the tape shorter and shorter.. I think I only have 2 or 3 pins covered and it is still working. I do see the color difference but it is way better than throwing it in the trash!! You are awesome and thank you again!!!
if you do same thing on both side of panel, maybe it will be less noticable ?
You sir are a legend!!! I got the same model. followed your steps and i got a picture!! I narrowed my ribbon cable down to two pins and now have darn near perfect color. a million thanks
Where did you start adding tape and which two pins did it end up being?
@@KC-lm2tx i added tape just like he did. i cut 4 pins worth at a time off the left side till it got worse than non cut. I then moved the tape to the left till the picture got better then i cut on the right side till i got a great picture. i couldnt tell you exactly the pins. i dont want to take it apart again lol
I went out and bought a new tv only to fix this one in 10 minutes. WOW. Thank you
This is by far the best solution. I used scotch tape. I will try to do the same to the other ribbon to equalize the screen. Thank you so very much. I will post when it is finished.
Thank you so much! Our TV is only a few years old and one day we turned it on and we had sound, but no picture. We followed the instructions in your video, and it worked! The color is still not even, but at least we can see to watch it again! Thanks again!
I've just come across this exact same problem on a Samsung 55" TV. I went through the typical tests including taping off some of the lines on those ribbon cables and the TV would do as you have shown in this video. But, further testing (many hours of testing) showed that on the circuit board at the bottom of the screen (the one attached to the screen that runs the width of the screen) has some diode packs. One of these diode packs was getting hot. I removed the device from the circuit board and now the TV works fine. I found two shorts within the diode pack itself. Pins 1 and 10 were shorted and pins 5 and 6 were shorted.
Without the schematics (and since I didn't want to try to reverse engineer it) I can only make assumptions on what these diode packs did. Since the TV works without it, I assume it's some sort of back EMF prevention as it also appears to be installed with reverse polarity. But I could be wrong about this. The part number on it is 4268H but I could not find any datasheet for it. It measures about 0.5mm x 2mm. So far, the TV is working without any apparent problems but only time will tell if missing this part will impact something else in the future. At the moment, I'm keeping an eye out for a similar TV for salvage to replace the part with. I hope to put out a video regarding this repair soon. But it's on a very long To-Do list.
I don't see a diode pack at the bottom of the screen? Much less where it plugs in.
@@sq33756 It's about the size of a grain of rice and will have 6 or 8 legs. It looks like a typical IC chip.
It worked on my 70in. Thanks. What actually needs to be replaced though? Kids say their shows look different and have lines.
I'm just here to add my thanks. I have this exact model with the same problem. Of course Samsung and Best Buy were no help at all. With your help I was able to salvage something that would otherwise be completely useless. Thanks a lot, man! I really do appreciate it!
I would like to say thank you very much for this well explained video. I tried it on samsung 55in and it brought it to life again thank you and God bless you.
Thank you so much you are the best I like the way you explained it is very clear and helpful I have the same problem with my tv Samsung 70 inches I was thinking to thruway but because of you I tried to follow your because I can’t afford to pay somebody to fix it thank again and god bless you.
I was lucky enough to have this work for me on my 6 series 50 in MU6300. I didn’t have painters tape. scotch worked just as good. I’m very grateful for the information. The t.v has been broke for literal years
Please call me I need your help
I really appreciate this video, my husband and I were about to get rid of our tv but came across this video. We followed each step and boom! It started working again. You save us some money lol!!
Great troubleshooting walkthrough, and many thanks. Had this issue with our samsung model QE50Q67TAUXXH. Seemed to be a metal part of the speaker unit that was touching something it shouldnt, and taped this off. Tv working perfectly again without having to tape off the cable.
This video REALLY helped! I had the same exact problem, followed what he said and got my tv working again. Only problem is, the left side does not have great color.
Anyone at all, feel free to reply to me with suggestions to restore proper color
I need the same thing. I dont want to cut too much tape off.
I want to thank you because of you I was able to fix my TV who knew what painter tape can do for my Samsung I had to do 13 pin from the right and had to cover about 6 of them. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
13 pin from the right mean when you lift the ribbon up you count from the right side? I have the same issue but tried to cover pin 14th from the left for both ribbons but the TV keeps on and off
@@nolanngo2525 did you fix it
Thank you. For this very helpfull video. Fixed a UE50RU7440 /50 INCH. Covered pin 13 to 21. And the screen was back. A big thumb.
It worked for me. Thank you and may God bless you.
Excellent Video, Naration and result La Cafeteria. Clear and easily understood, step by step.
Update.. I purchased this same model TV from someone for $50 and was able to fix it just like you demonstrated in the video. It looks and works like new with the acception of some extremely hard to see faint lines on left side of the TV.
THANK YOU WORKED PERFECTLY. my tv has been sitting unused for about a year. Coukdnt find any solutions other than the obvious unplug it and plug it back in, i was about to get another tv and decided to try to just replace the boards, i found this video when i looked up the part number and saw it had the same issues, did everything step by step and it WORKED
I got this 65" tv for free off of Facebook market. I came home and tried a few things other UA-cam videos had suggested. Then I ran into your video and it worked. I got it right the first time. I can hardly believe it. I don't understand what I did, but it works. Thanks a lot.
What is your Tv model number please

Hows that tv running now? Still alive? The 75 inch you fixed?
Fantastic help. Mine was in same reboot and with patience and your guide I could make it work 🎉 thanks!
Tried it and works perfectly. I didn’t have the painter’s tape so I just used a piece of the tape holding the cables in the TV. Thanks a lot
Tv works good as new. Wish I could give you 2 thumbs up brother! Thank you
Your video just saved me a lot of money. Thank you!

Thank you! Was able to completely fix my TV. Full color and screen restored. You da man!
hello, tell us how you fix
Thank you. Just tried on my 55KS9000 and now working. Thank you soo much.
Huge shout out to you have this exact same model been sitting in a corner for 3 months because of this exact issue i did your tape method and worked came right on. Decided to order a new one of those for now but really cool i was about to just take it to the dump.
Thanks big time!
Thanks, It didn't work for me on that belt but after I checked your video it gave me ideas and I tried with the other belts and it worked lol it was actually the belt for the right side of the tv I covered 2 pins and found the problem, I tried to cover more at first but I was losing too many pixels and showing lines so I tried pin by pin lol it wasn't easy but I found the 2 causing the problem and now unless you get super super close to the tv you can see that some pixels aren't working but from 2 feet away you can't notice anything lol
Thank you great video been saving this same TV for a year hoping to fix it one day. Took me a couple tries and it was the other ribbon cable but worked great .
Awesome video! It got my screen working again but half is black and white still, which I can deal with for now! I just saw the comment about getting all the color back so I’ll have to try doing that but I’m just excited the tv works again! Thanks for the content!!
I just got fixed my tv. Did you figure out how to get the color fully back? Mine is color and 1/2 black n white
Same in my case, left panel is almost black and white.
@@yevanisgarcia2944 Keep making the tape shorter and shorter, Process of illimitation
Thank you so much for making this video, we just did this to our Samsung tv that is less than 2 years old and it worked great!
Thanks!!!! You Saved my TV and my Wallet!! Much Appreciated!!
This worked for my tv. THANK YOU!!!!
What I’ve realized is most of these Samsungs are Covid stimulus check TVs. I got one too with the same problem. Mine started cycling after a 1 second brown out. I found the short in the cable and now it’s on with sound, but still no picture. I’m going to watch some more videos to see if there’s something else that can be done but I’m afraid I’ll have to purchase another. It will never be another Samsung though. They should be ashamed of this issue.
Edit: your video helped a lot! I got a picture now. Unfortunately, half the screen is a different purple hue. But, that’s the left side of the tv and the original issue was with the right half where I put the tape. That side looks excellent. 🤷🏻♂️. Guess I’m not quite done fiddling with it yet!
Thank you so much man. I will be trying this out. I do wonder could you not just get a replacement part?
thank you sir. i have the same TV and this actually worked. now the color issue remains but what the heck :D great video for this issue
Thank you for sharing this! It fixed our TV as well! We had to cover roughly the 12th or 13th pin skipped a pin cover 2 more roughly skip a pin and cover another to get our picture to have full color back and no lines. It's not completely perfect but very close. It is usable and way better than having to buy a new one.

Thank you so much for this video!!! I did it all myself, and I didn’t have to pay someone to repair!
Just so happen to come across a 75” tv someone was throwing away I took it call around to see approximately how much would it be to fix. Something told me to do a little research on UA-cam and you popped up. I followed all the steps just like you said and now the tv works . Thx man
I just checked out your video. Thank you! I Was able to completely the quick fix on my Samsung 55 inch tv @ 240Hz I also got a mainboard and a T-con board as a back up for my tv (Due to I did not want to trash my TV
Thank you very much Mr. Johnson, you are a HERO!!
Best videos for this stuff man thanks
AWESOME video you help me save the tv. Yet I have a question what's the part that is bad?? Is it the board or the ribbons??
Thanks DJ your video was spot on, cancelling my new tv order
soooo if you disconnect both ribbon cables to the panel and nothing changes in behavior, i.e. it keeps flashing on and off, does that imply your mainboard is bad?
Hey DJ. Thank you so much for this video! Definitely worked! I was wondering if replacing with a new cable would bring the color back? Wasn’t sure if the problem lies within the cable or the board. Thanks!
It’s the front panel that is the problem. You can fix it. It’s just cheaper just getting a new tv
@@2exiwyou mean the main board is bad ? What is the front panel?
My Samsung QE55Q65RALXXN was re booting every x seconds. (Bought 2019) I installed 3 mm widt piece of paper in the contacts from the lower flat wire. My tv looks exact the same as in the fantastic video. Thanks . Everything is working perfekt again. I only miss the stand by light. In 1 of the video,s you explained that all the voltages to the mainbord do not get over 12.8 V dc. Should I be afraid for fire ? The TV is already 5 days in use since repair
Hi! It worked on mine, but I was wondering so I can replace the part, is it the whole strip I need to replace or the panel it’s self?
You saved my tv! Thank you so much!
Amazing….. its work. Thank you so much ❤
Thanks brother. It helped. It saved me my 1 k🎉🎉🎉🎉
Merci beaucoup pour le tutoriel, ça fonctionne fonctionne pour moi.😉
Thank you for this video D Double J. I got it with a 6MM piece of frogtape starting on the same pin you showed. I also used a 6-outlet with an on-off toggle switch to kill power to it between tape trimmings.
Excelente video. Lo hice y me funciono, aunque con una diferencia de colores en el lado izquierdo, pero se puede ver.
Thank you very much Johnson. I have fixed my TV and save money to get PS5
Worked for me - took several attempts to get the right pins covered but definitely worked - THANK YOU
Which pins?
From memory it was 5 or 6 from the bottom, it was just trial and error really. Lost count how many times I moved the tape and switched the set on/off, but stick with it (no pun intended), touch wood, our TV is still working and perfectly watchable, just a slight (very slight) colour mis match
thanks for the video. my TV worked and I was able to get the same picture quality as yours. I removed the tape the next day to see if it would work, and the screen was back with all the colors.

@@anatolyyakovlev2861 you are right. it went well for like a month and it did the same thing again.
Thanks for the help but do I need to replace the whole strip to make in look like it’s from factory my still does not look good as from factor
it also worked on mu6300 mu6290 and ku6500 50 and 55" for all three models it's the shorter ribbin for the rigth side of the screen you need cover pins starting from from rigth to left of the ribbin cover pins 13-21 ( you can adjustpin , 13 to pin 14, and pin 21 to pin 20 or 19 to fine tune it ) this should work on 2017 models and up it also depend on how bad the panel is I repaired 27 out of 30 TV's this way this should work on any model also if the TV is turn it's self on and off cover pins 1 only on the shorter ribbin
I have the mu6300 50" Haven't gotten it to work yet.. I'm going keep trying. Thank you for the tip
UPDATE: Thank you Hamil for the tip! The video was helpful to understand but unfortunately wasn't working, but after I started working with the shorter ribbon cable I was able to get it to work and my picture looks perfect, just as it was before!
However, for my screen I needed to place the tape on the right side (when cable is facing up) of the cable. So if someone is reading this, try the right side too.
Question: Can you buy a new ribbon cable to permanently fix the issue, or is it a problem with something else in the TV?
Any pictures? To help visualize.
My TV 55NU7100 was turning on and off. When I leave the top ribbon plugged (connects to the side where the power unit goes) and unplug the bottom ribbon (connects to the bottom of the tv on the side where the main board is) the Tv turns on without image, but stops restarting and has sound. When I do the opposite, unplug the top ribbon and plug the bottom ribbon, the tv keeps turning on and off without image. I assume that this bottom ribbon is the one with the issue , right? I tried using tape to cover the pins, and the one that worked was PIN 1 (the one in the bottom). Then, the TV starts and there is sound, but still no image. Same happens after I plug both cables, keeping pin 1 on the botton ribbon covered. Any idea what to do next to get the image back on?
hamil1058 , do you think you can sell me some of these precise pin covering cutouts , i just seem to lose the color on the right side of the screen always and its too much work to get it totally perfect with my imperfect eyesight
Nice work my friend
My dude!!! I got it on the first try! This guy GAVE me this tv and your video helped me fix it! Aside from the mild green tint on the upper left side, this tv is flawless! My sincere thanks to you!
You saved me a lot of money! I had the exact same problem on Samsung Q60 series TV and using a tape after 12th pin, the problem resolved and TV stopped rebooting, so far I don't see any lost features nor any leds turned off on screen. Thanks a ton.
Yeah right.... lmaooooo 12th how far did you go down?
muchas gracias si me funciono en varios tv como dice el comentario se tapa el pin 13 al 21 y ya funciona
I've got a question. At 6:16 when you plugged in the power and the LED lights came on, just curious how that works when there is nothing but the power cord connected. The only cable connected to the power board it the power cable itself. There is no way for the power to get from the power board to the LEDs. Maybe I am overlooking something.
Connection to LEDs is under power board
I have a slightly different model and I was skeptical at first but then I went and got painters tape
Cut it approximately and put it on and it workeddddddd. Didn’t even cut it more after because I was just happy it works and the color is good tooo
Thank youuu
What’s your model?
Amazing video thanks a million, so which pins do I have to cover with the tape ? From the 13th to which ?
Sir, thank you so much for, I just fixed my parents 2 year old tv with the same issue
you can also disconnect the ribbon cable to the lcd then when the tv is on reconnect it and you will get full picture and color. might take a couple trys to get iit right.

Jean-Francois Gagné what was your tv doing . before the repair was it not powering up when you turned it on or was it turning on with back ligths but no picture

Hi bro I need help please I have 58 main board just and it it self no display no right when I put 55 curve board come on no pictures backlight it comes on so how can I figure out which one is dead please I need help
I have same tv and same problem.
What I did if your facing the back of the tv was remove the ribbon from the bottom left side of the panel that runs down from the bottom of the main board. Waited for the tv to light up and sound to come on. The tv stayed on then I plugged the bottom left ribbon back in WHALLA!!! FULL PICTURE FULL COLOR NO LINES.
Downside- as soon as you turn tv back off and on again you have to remove cable and put back again.
I'm going tontry your process next but trying to avoid loosing color or reducing the lifespan of the other processors if their working double time due to the tape method. (Do you think that is true? Reduced life span)
My other idea is to get an extra 96pin ribbon and a double sided femal adaptor and hang both ribbons out of the bottom of the tv so I can easily access and remove the ribbon connection and plug back in after it boots back on.
@@BoulderHouse I used you method it worked great I have my TV on a wall mount that pulls out I just cut a hole behind the ribbon on the plastic to access it
@@kyleskirvin8751 I was thinking of doing that too.

One quick question. Is the problem that is occurring due to the ribbon or the main board? Say if I decided to replace parts instead of covering pins which of the two is best to start with?

This is a known issue that Samsung is aware of. We also have the same issue. They will do nothing about it. Warranty is expired and after 4 years, we are buying another TV. NOT SAMSUNG!
I have a 65nu6900 that has a grey screen. I remove one of the end lcd driver boards out of the circuit and i get proper 16.7V on the capacitors but still grey screens with no video. The tv sounds correct for the setup screen but cant coax an image out by covering pins on the ribbon. The lvds cables are very narrow, half the size as the ones in your video. I suspect one of the COF are bad as i see some subtle lines at one end of the panel. Not sure if i can coax an image outnof this one. Any thoughts before i start cutting traces?

I have done this and achieved a perfectly even picture by simply applying tape to both ribbons equally and then i turned up the colour a lot more :) really balances it out with the colour because its equal
really? It did not work for me, by applying tape on one ribbon at a time on my Samsung UN55NU7100 . I mean, applying tape on some positions made the TV turn ON and stop shutting down and getting sound from the tv, but no picture at all. Just watched this video, going to try on my tv. Looks like you live around htown.
DJ - interesting video. We have a 75 QLED Samsung, I replaced the power supply about 6 months ago and today it started with the reboot power on, some lines on the screen with sound, then repeat. So I'm thinking the controller board has gone south but I haven't ordered it yet. My question for you is how did you arrive at the pins to start the tape covering. After watching this video you had some of the screen working but then screen lines came on. How did you dial in the pins and do you think it is a temporary fix that you will need to replace the controller board longer term? Thanks, - Jeff
He arrived at the pins once he saw the leds were coming on without the screen connected internally. He says most of the time it's the panel going bad so the main board won't do much most of the time. This is a temp fix some say 6 month some say couple. You pick off pins with tape so if I had 6 taped in the middle I was cut the tape one off and see if it's better. Maybe lines go away if none of thay happens it's the panel most expensive part. These tvs have the part that displays the image integrated into the main board
Thanks sir
My same problem solve thanks again
