Sorry in adv for rant but I feel the BBC have behaved appallingly. They must know that the night shift is for younger folk. It’s tantamount to constructive dismissal because they must realise you will have to walk if you can’t keep up. Put your health first Jo but I can appreciate a terribly difficult decision for you. Sending love xxx
Jo, I'm 69 and at a huge cross-roads in my own life. At our ages, we carry on as though we're in our 40's, with our duties. Yet, whether we like it or not, even with caring for our health and watching our diets, there is no denying that our bodies can't quite keep up with our minds. I'm glad you spoke of your own cross-roads. You've become quite successful will make the right decision. I, like you, tend to "fly by the seat of my pants". You took a chance on your you-tube channel and look what's developed!
Your pink suit looked so beautiful on you, Jo. I recently made the decision to leave a job that was truly impacting my health, my finances are less, but my health has improved so much that I realise it was the best choice...life is short and better lived feeling well, especially at our age, Jo. Life changes. I feel we could all see in your eyes and voice that you know the time is right. Enjoy your life and future, Jo xxx ❤
100% agree! I think to make life more manageable, take transport into work, Asthma hates cold air! Ones health is far more important and you have lots of fabulous memories to enjoy 🇦🇺💐
Sometimes, a money hit is necessary to get on your right path. I did it a couple of years ago, and I studied. Not where I want to be yet, but the job I was in, was literally draining the life out of me. I hope you enjoy your new journey and wish you the best.
I cannot imagine that any London company would not want to hire that charming & professional woman - in the hot pink suit - for a position from 9am to 5pm. They will be fighting over her!🤩
You could write columns for papers, join another station, guest present/field journalist on your UK morning/news shows, podcast, all kinds of things, Jo! Never let age etc stop you from letting everyone know you're sooo qualified & see what a gem you truly are... they just need to watch your yt channel!!! Also, love how you championed a NZ brand! Can't really go.wring with our wool. I'll be making an order myself❤️
As a journo, was thinking exactly this, watching you, Jo. So many opportunities out there and you already have the experience, contacts etc. Don't be tied down by the known. You've so much more to give that might be more of a joy, less of a stress. Not a slippery slope to let go if you've prepped. x
It must be so frustrating to do something you love & have your working hours changed so radically you question whether to stay. Now is the time to put yourself first! ❤
Jo you are on your 60s you don't want to work at night who would I certainly wouldn't. But as a single women it's hard I know I'm one. Hard decision. X
Oh Jo, watching this blog I really felt for you - you looked so fed up and down and I know that's not you. You're always so upbeat and jolly. During the lockdown you carried us all through it wonderfully with your afternoon show and I think it's criminal that the BBC moved you to this difficult night time slot. Your health if obviously suffering and you know its really not worth it. Life's too short and I'm sure another radio broadcaster will snap you up. Get your agent on it. xxx Vicky Mortlake

You may not think that tailored trouser suit look is your "style", but it's actually the most flattering outfit I've seen on you. It's sophisticated, gives you height, and makes you look ideally proportioned.. Small slim women look best in well-tailored outfits.
Jo, I can hear the heartbreak in your voice about the conflict regarding the the love of your job and the actually working hours. I think you’ve made your decision. May I just say, I carried on with my work and ignored everything (even my Doctors and Consultants telling me I must stop) at the cost of my health. It’s not worth it. If you decided to leave the BBC, someone else would hire you and with better hours and benefits. You Are Loved.
I so look forward to your vlogs on Sunday! You do so much for us here on UA-cam, as a chatty, friendly, informed, stylish, funny and elegant virtual friend. It's such a pity your radio show can't be reworked to a more reasonable time slot. Being aware of our energy levels is important and all those late nights sound like a real challenge. Hoping you find resolution and rest, and just delighted to catch here every week xxx
That's what I was thinking some employers will listen and find another slot. These days I wonder if these things are done on purpose to give the employer no choice. There are other radio stations that we would move along to. They should snap Jo up immediately shouldn't they. 🥰
Jo, I just wanted to give you the biggest hug. Please, please move on (I know it is a hard decision). You deserve so much better. I agree with other people on here with regard to how women are treated this way as a means of getting them to leave. You are a lovely, strong and inspirational person. You can do it! We are all behind you xxx
Take the plunge and share your thoughts with your radio bosses. You never know where it will take you. And if nothing else, you will have more clarity based on the talk. Much love 💕
My mom always said, “without your health, you haven’t anything”. I can testify that this is true. I wish that I could reach over the miles and give you an encouraging hug….thank you for sharing. Prayers for wisdom and opportunity for the future! (Oh, and you were as a ray of sunshine at the Marlyebone event….beautiful!) ❤
Hi Jo. I so enjoy your vlogs and don’t comment enough. I was listening and watching you talk about how you feel about work . I heard someone say “ you never know what is behind the closed door” which really helped me when I was wrestling with moving on. I’m so looking forward to seeing what you decide.
Gorgeous pink suit, you looked amazing Jo. X Can you start looking for another radio show, I am sure other stations would love to have you, you are so lovely and genuine.
Dear Jo, you are such a trooper but I completely understand your dilemma. I am nearly 62 and worked in hospitality for many years which meant strange hours but I really could not work late at night now and wouldn't want to. You are so clearly a morning person - I remember how happy you used to be in your vlogs when setting off for a crack of dawn yoga class, filling your day and then naturally winding down for a reasonable bed time. You are a lark not an owl. I feel your asthma is moving you to the right decision for you - your health and happiness is everything and a daytime radio show would be so much better for you. We love you Jo - wrap yourself up in your beautiful blanket and cuddle Myrtle. 💕🐶
Ok Jo, How many subscribers do we need to get you off that shift? I'm sure there are other radio stations who would be delighted to have you at a civilised hour but it'd be great to get you enough subscribers so you can spend all your time being driven around by Dave making videos for us. X
I am in! All the followers can share or hashtag you on Instagram to go viral? Not sure how that works but if someone knows, I will follow instructions on Facebook and Instagram.
Give the job up Jo your health is much more important. You are brilliant at showing us what London has to offer so be an online tour guide. Move down to Sussex near your Mum and just come to London several times a week. Time for a change. x
You aren’t moaning Jo, you’re just chatting things over with friends. We all do that when we have something difficult to work out. We feel part of your life when you share with us. Take care of yourself Jo, that’s what all your friends would tell you. Now here’s how far you reach. I was teaching a hand spinning class in Melbourne (it’s what I do 😆) and after chatting and then mentioning you during my beginners spinning class, one of my students was a subscriber! We bonded instantly… because of you. You reach far and wide Jo! Take care dear Jo🤗🤗
You are telling us how you are feeling you are real Jo most bloggers just show the glamours side of life but you show both that's why we love you so much. We only want what's best for you. You will make the right decision Jo and we will follow you what ever you decide. See you next Sunday. Enjoy your week. Love from Ireland. X
You are definitely not moaning Jo. You're honestly sharing your life with us. Honesty helps so many people going through the same thing. Reaching out can invite creative ideas and opportunities in. That beautiful throw is a sign of love and care from the universe to bring you comfort while you are grappling with this difficult work life balance. I wish you all the best 🙏 You have given so much to so many, I'm sure all will be well.
With the wool blanket Jo, I would recommend once summer arrives and it’s too hot to use, I would defiantly clean it, put some lavender drops on it and store it in a vacuum bag till winter. Suggesting this because I know you have had problems with moths eating your favorite clothes and that blanket would be a nice gourmet meal for the moth larvae to much on and you don’t want a mothademic on your hands😄🦋🍽️ x
You are not moaning, I’m your age Jo, recently finished work as a nurse, nights almost killed me, you should be in your Jammies getting ready for bed, not going out to work, but only you can work out what you need to do, telling everyone to subscribe, your decision is probably going to be health based, sending lots of love and support xxxx🐶
Hi Jo, looking fantastic in your pink suit- it was made for you. Please wrap yourself up in the beautiful wool blanket, snuggle with Murtle, and think about your health and consider your options. We want the best for you💕💕💕🥰🥰🥰🙏🏻
Hi Jo. If and when you leave the BBC, would you consider doing a podcast? Love your interview style. You must include a ‘Chewing the Fat’ style segment. They are fun and interesting. I don’t think you would have any problems also finding interesting people to have a chat session with about their lives. Doggy chats. People, places things. Health, Exercise, Food, life. Etc! And David! 😛 I definitely think there is a niche for you doing this. x
Jo I just have to write I am 79 and was made to retire at 65 . You are such an asset to the BBC and they are not appreciating you, as others have said here your health comes first whatever the future may bring you have such capacity to bring the joy out of every last moment, older women are in more demand than ever in history, a more diverse way of spreading your talents would be so enjoyable, let everyone know you are available. I be been following Trinny on here, worth a look love to you PINK!!!
Jo, I saw such unhappiness and dread on your face while you were walking to work. At our age we need to be enjoying life. I truly don’t know how you keep up with your busy schedule and go to work when most people are going to bed. Jo, you don’t have any downtime to recoup and to recharge and we all need to have some me time. Jo, please do what is best for YOU. Love to you and Myrtle ❤
Hello Jo, you’re not moaning, I completely understand what you said. I retired last year due to my health and can say I’m much better for it. Take care of you Jo, because no one else will. See you next week. Love pink 💗 on you 😘
May sound like a cliché, but life is way too short for doing things you don't have to. Your channel is fabulous and fills people with happiness and inspiration. You are a little bit of luxury in everyone's week You are a stylish go getter and long may it continue! I think this is definitely your plan B.👍
You are most definitely NOT moaning Jo. You are recognizing what worked for you before doesn't quite work anymore. I also think you are doing a great service for your listener as it makes one feel less alone as we all struggle with similar questions in our own lives.
You're not moaning Jo at all. Asthma can be so debilitating as well as frustrating. Your health is more important than anything. Everyone thinks you are just amazing, and you produce fabulous vlogs, even if you are just at home, snuggled up with Myrtle, whom I have just had hysterics watching, they are brilliant Jo. Take great care of yourself love.
Hi Jo you know that your health is the most important for you. Without it nothing will work. I am sure Nigel will work something out for you which suits you at this stage of life better. All your entertaining Jobs like for BBC Marylebone or Sheere Luxe are just so well done by you. You deserve a better offer. Fingers crossed that this will happen soon
All here encouraging Jo to find something else and prioritize her health (which I agree with BTW ), find a friend who can subscribe to her channel. This will help her out more than any cheer or wishful thinking on our part. We love you Jo!
The time is now, Jo. Your world will open up to many new and, exciting opportunities. The connections/networks you have will lead to some great things - don’t be afraid. Have a great week.
Jo you are brilliant. You are always on the go and doing something. You have more energy than some 30-40 year olds. You are a fashionista and are absolutely gorgeous!
Love you Jo - that pink suit is something you should wear again, it was super pretty. I was also thrilled to see you with as blanket from here in NZ. See - you are global. Take care x
Happy International Women’s Day!!🎈🥳🎉 Women are Rocking the planet🌏 Theory pink suit is fabulous on you!❤ You are certainly involved in ur Life!! All day & BBC nights!! Living the Dream! The new throw from New Zealand is perfect in wool Dave the cabbie to end ur day is perfection!🚕
Ive just ordered two of these beautiful throws from Forestry wool after I saw you wrapped in the gorgeous green one! Can’t wait to get them for our Australian winter thats coming up soon 😊
Suit is fab, and I really like that particular heel thickness with the suit. And on another note...you were not moaning. You were sharing...My advice...listen to your body. So many people ignore their bodies. I don't know why. It is the vessel that holds the spirit and it deserves our attention, protection, and awareness.
Your honesty and joie de vivre shine through which is why I love your blog. Health and well-being plus friends and family are all that matters. I commuted for my career every day from the south coast to London for 25 years til I’d had enough as had my health. You will have so many opportunities ahead but I know how hard this is right now. I don’t think you’ll regret putting yourself first for once xx
After ending up on an oxygen machine in hospital a few months ago, I was diagnosed with adult-onset asthma. Totally out of the blue and with no previous breathing issues. I am 60, not working, flying solo and wondering what to do for the best. Money is v tight but my health comes first. I feel strongly that quality of life is what counts most. Wishing you the best in making your own decisions. It's not easy. gillian
Pink really suits you Jo gorgeous suit and the blanket is beautiful too ( I could never afford it but it is lovely) . Your health is very important and I do hope you can find a job with better hours very soon , as it’s a known fact that working nights effects your health, and not in a positive way . Hope your having a nice week and do take care xx
You are not moaning; you need to take care of yourself. You are talented vlogger, and we are here to support you. Also, there are plenty of sponsors that would love to sign you, you can do other talks and things. Go for it.
Jo I love listening to your radio show on catch up BBC Sounds. It’s fantastic. Especially “Chewing the fat” - I even have my husband listening to that. But those unsociable hours are enough to make anyone ill. I do hope you can maybe think about increasing your UA-cam shows to make more income instead….. maybe more high street fashion hauls….showing us more of London……doing a daytime taxi tour around London with Dave……getting a daytime radio show on another station? Easy for me to say I know……but you are so talented I’m sure there is a way to get work in more sociable hours. Hoping your asthma gets better soon. You need to look after you 🥰
Pretty in 🌸Pink! 🎀… love your suit, you look so stylish! PS: don’t let the BBC push you out the door just yet, winter always makes things tricky. Hang on in there!
Jo dont listen t u on the radio but luved the interview with Dave -can see ure a natural at keepkng conversation going. Wld luv a longer interview with Dave n other interesting Londoners
Oh, I totally agree, I wake up at 5am every morning and like being in bed early, so staying out late every night would totally wreck my world. Prayers they will work with you🙏 Yay, Dave's back! I absolutely love your wool blanket and your PINK suit, pure Fabulousness❤️
Jo, I have had asthma for many years and had to use a rescue inhaler too frequently. I don’t need the rescue inhaler anymore now that I use a long term inhaler Flovent one puff once a day. I carry a rescue inhaler just in case but have to keep an eye on the expiry date because it is never used. I resisted using the long term inhaler at first but am thankful that I decided to give it a try. The recommended dose was one puff twice a day but one puff it perfect for me. Maybe discuss this with your asthma clinician.
Dear Jo,I can wholly empathise with your work dilemma and you’re far from being a moaner!I have been working afternoons and evenings for nigh on 40 years now and will be turning 66 this year. I too, am a morning person and don’t sleep many hours. I have been pondering about giving up work and will probably do so in the next 4 months. It’s been a very tough decision as I love what I do but sometimes we have to really listen to our bodies when they begin to send messages to us. We all deserve a rest and time to relax .As for the pink trouser suit- just fabulous on you and what a gorgeous throw/blanket! What a lovely guy Dave is and hopefully you will always remain friends even if you stop your late night taxi journeys ❤home! Love to you and Myrtle and take care of yourself ❤️🥰🐾
Health is the most important Jo❤ I can tell u have been stressed about something but I hope things get better for u Jo😊🇺🇸would u still do the barking hour with Anna , I enjoy listening to you 2
Gosh we all moan about things from time to time and there is nothing wrong with that! Difficult decision to make, but you will make the right choice for you, when you are ready. That pink trouser suit looks great on you x
Jo, I totally understand where you are coming from. When my kids were younger I waitressed in the evening, and often didn't get home until the early hours. I was a lot younger than and was always exhausted. So, doing what you do at your age is amazing. Be proud of yourself you are such a great ambassador for the mature woman xx ❤️
You looked absolutely fabulous in your pink suit! You do so much for the promotion of female entrepreneurs in Marylebone and beyond-perhaps that could be another sideline? How do you find the energy? I found you via vlogger Pretty over 50, would love to see more collaborations with her or others and that may broaden your viewership. You've truly brought London to life for me! Thank you!
You looked wonderful in the pink trouser suit Jo that colour really suits you and the tailored cut was magnificent! I also loved the wool throw - a very classy and cosy addition to the sofa. My only advice (for what it’s worth) about work is please think about it carefully and make sure you are financially secure enough to make the change (and also that you have things in place to keep you busy). You have to listen to your body though and ultimately you will know when the time is right. Whatever you decide your followers are behind you cheering you on xx
Jo you looked absolutely GORGEOUS in that pink suit with the black heels and the red lip WOW! That throw looks so comfortable and cosy, I may just get one..best of luck with your decision of changing your lifestyle. Whatever you decide all of us will be behind you❤……….🤗🇨🇦
You’ll know when the time is right to leave, and it sounds like you’re getting there. Go easy on yourself, stay busy, and you’ll be just fine. No doubt you’ll have more energy and more time to grow your other ventures. It will feel strange at first, but after a while it’ll start to feel more normal. Cannot wait to see what you do. And the pink suit is divine! I bought something pink this week, and seeing this makes me feel better about that choice. Have a great week! And be glad you were with the Beeb during its prime. I think you’re right to think about leaving.
How gorgeous did you look in that trouser suit ! My heart went out to you when you were on your way to work and had to stop to catch your breath. In your head, you think you can carry on, but your body is telling you otherwise. Its all about self-care. Do what's best for you Jo....no one else will. Much love to you x
Jo l too have done shift work. I’m a nurse. It’s really hard on your health and lifestyle. If you can cope without work, think about a change. You never know what is around the corner. But just do what is right for you.
Hi Jo love when you show us your area. That pink suit is just gorgeous on you, make me want to give pink a shot. Look after your health Jo. Best wishes with whatever you decide.
Love the blanket Jo - it blends in nicely with your decor and doesn’t compete with the cushions on your couch! You looked great in that pink suit! You know what’s best for you ❤️🇨🇦🌺
The Italian pastries are cannoli, Jo, and very delicious. I feel for you. The decision to leave a stable employment is a difficult one, but as many others have said on here, your health must come first. You have worked your whole life, but maybe it’s time? Besides, life is changing in general for everybody and more and more people desire freedom from the structure and strictures of regular work. Whatever you choose, I wish you the very best, Jo. Much love to you, Myrtle and especially your Mum ❤
Jo, I so hope you can make the change to give up the late night show and do other things you enjoy. Your health is #1 as we get to this stage of life. You are such a resilient, positive person and while change is hard it reminds us just how string we are, I would love to see you carve out a niche with travel, fashion, health and wellness as your perspective is unique and you are so inspiring and important. Sending you positive thoughts.
Pretty suit !! I do not know how you carry on I’m a few years younger and I couldn’t do your pace with late night working and home so late ❤ your not moaning you have to look after yourself no one else can
I was in the wrong job for a long time Jo & didn’t do anything about it until I was forced to - cue nervous breakdown! In hindsight it was the best thing that happened. You will always have work Jo but make it work for you X
Aww Jo I loved your blanket. They are a fantastic price for the quality. I'm feeling a bit the same regarding my job and my health. On top of the menopause symptoms I'm not coping with the volume of work anymore. I'm trusting my intuition for when the time is right to leave. I'm almost there. 💪🤓

The BBC isn't exactly covering itself in glory these days. They have a duty of care to you. I do hope you get a more suitable slot. Take care Jo. Xx

Can you start looking for another radio show, I am sure other stations would love to have you, you are so lovely and genuine.
Time for a change. x
I am not sure that being online guide will pay as much as a radio presenter job at the bbc
@Malo Donnart very true. and I cannot see Jo leaving London.
@@minzygreen1167 very true but when it comes to your health difficult decisions have to be made.
That shot of Mert chilling on the sofa gave me a giggle ❤🤗. Love your videos Jo! Xx
Etc! And David! 😛 I definitely think there is a niche for you doing this. x
Jo the best part of this vlog is hearing you're thinking about yourself now..
Whatever you do just make sure it's right for you..x
Dave had a day off? Unthinkable! LOL. The most important thing is Dave's hair, especially his Jack Lord style! Segue, the blanket is a revelation!
Take care of yourself. Life is short. Do what you want.😊❤️
Yes, that's a beautiful throw and I love pure wool too.
Take care x
Honesty is always refreshing in a vlogger Jo. It seems like your body is showing you what it needs. I love your vlogs.
Happy International Women’s Day!!🎈🥳🎉
Women are Rocking the planet🌏
Theory pink suit is fabulous on you!❤
You are certainly involved in ur Life!! All day & BBC nights!! Living the Dream!
The new throw from New Zealand is perfect in wool
Dave the cabbie to end ur day is perfection!🚕
Ive just ordered two of these beautiful throws from Forestry wool after I saw you wrapped in the gorgeous green one! Can’t wait to get them for our Australian winter thats coming up soon 😊
you wont be disappointed...they are quite unique x
It's not easy. gillian
Whatever you decide, you will feel so much better, once the decision is made. Your health and well being is more important than anything else.
Gorgeous pink suit Jo,but then, you bring all your outfits to life! ❤❤
thankyou x
We all love you Jo!!! You're so real and that's why I can't wait to see your videos each week!!!
Wow Jo you looked stunning in that pink. Really suited u. Your hair looked beautiful too.
Love this look on you! Pink suits and your hair!!
Hey Jo how about write a book! Include some of your mum's recollections etc I know you could do it with the right help, I would buy it xxx
Go easy on yourself, night shifts are hard on the body you are right to think of change. Can’t wait to see what you do next. ❤️💪🏼
Grateful for my Sunday mornings with you. Love the pink suit. Hope your asthma is better. Take care!
Jo, you absolutely rocked the Theory suit! Hot pink really suits you. 💕
Health is the most important Jo❤ I can tell u have been stressed about something but I hope things get better for u Jo😊🇺🇸would u still do the barking hour with Anna , I enjoy listening to you 2
The Blanket is beautiful., Jo. Perfect match for your flat. They chose the colours well.
Looks great on your couch. Enjoy.
Thank you!
When one door closes another opens....you are so talented ...time to see what is behind the next door...
@Cynthia M, what a lovely, thoughtful comment and great advice.. 🌹
It’s not moaning Jo, it’s you being real. I don’t know how you do it. ❤
You look sensational in that gorgeous pink suit!!!! As you say amazing fit and that’s so important in a tailored suit colour fabulous too!
Look after your health Jo ..Hard decision to make . The pink suit looks stunning on you and the makeup ❤
The pink suit is gorgeous on you! Looked like a great, fun event! You bring the awesome energy 🎉 Thanks so much for sharing ❤️ from Idaho xo
Pink suit is just STUNNING!!! Your hair looked great as well. And I think they’re called cannoli. Delish!! Xx
