Lemme break this down. Steelers would’ve paid him 45 million in the first 3 years. 90 % of Steeler players signed, play their contract in its entirety. Those who didn’t, were cut a year before the contract end. For instance, Steelers picked up Ryan Shazier 5th year option. They kept their word and signed him two additional years so he could complete his rehab.

@@MysticTjay probably structured that way for cap relief but not certain. I know they convert salary payments to guarantee money year to year. For instance, AB signed a 4 yr 43 million extension before the last year of his rookie deal. He totally outperformed that contract. Instead of him holding out for a new deal or them giving him a new deal they kept converting salary to guarantee payment before the season. So regardless of what happened he would be paid for the entire year. Was his deal for 10 million guarantee off the bat? Unsure of.

I don’t think this is the best example, Shazier’s situation is completely unique compared to others. Dude got paralyzed on the field in pittsburgh and was a fan favorite. The Steelers signed him again for the PR move so they didn’t look like assholes cutting a paralyzed man.

It wasn't that he wasn't utilized by the Jets so much as it was that they couldn't. Le'Veon's greatest strength as a running back was his vision; he was excellent at exploiting openings created by the offensive line. In Pittsburgh he had a strong line that could give him those opportunities, but the Jets' weak line wasn't able to do that and so Le'Veon struggled.

Also I don't blame Steelers players for being mad that he didn't show up, alot of them took pay cuts to make way for Le'veon bells contract. That is something that is never reported. How would you feel that you donated money (that you can't get back by the way) so your friend can move into an apartment and he never shows up, he doesn't even call you to tell you why either, you would feel some kind of way. Pouncey, David Decastro, Stephen Tuitt, Cam Heyward, and Big Ben all took pay cuts so pittsburgh can offer that 5 year 70 million dollars contract.
