one of the most exiting ways of fishing, and for carp its either super hard or the best day ever, they fight so damn hard and the slow takes are even worse for your heart than trout can do to you. Its all about timing, finding the right fish, thats feeding, and make that perfect cast that makes almost no splash but sinks right in front of the carps face just to suck it up. I do think a #5 weight is waay to light for these fish, you need to be able to keep them out of stuff and a 5 weight with a carp over 5 kg will be a hard deal to turn. at least 6 with little to no plants or 7 or 8 for more heavy situations and plants.
I caught my first carp on fly this year on a 4WT😅(Redington wrangler fly rod).. On my own jig worm.. the fully mill jig force short is a super awesome hook..
Hey Robert, nice video and Italy is a great country 😍 Next time you have to meet my friend Markus Eule aka Mr. Waller, he could show you how to catch a catfish with the fly✌️
Now you know what it is. One day you will get 10 kg carp then it will be true mental. This fish are unstoppable. Then you start to worry if you have enough backing.
Great video Robert. Thanks for the fun times a few weeks ago. Loved Gotland.
Great to see that someone who fishes as much as you is still so eager to learn..
Ok man my arm was hurting just watching…. Another great episode, thanks for posting!
Haha 😂 thank you!
Skills Robert. Love your work, in front and behind the camera. Stunning fish. Tough adversary on a #5 weight.
Stort grattis Robert! Riktigt kul att se 👏😍
Well done Robert 🎉
Awesome vid and congrats on your first carp. Lucky you, you got to fish with them 2... that's a bucket list group I'd like to be privy to.

Excellent!
Great job! Carp fight so hard! Can you tell me what the net is you were using? I need one similar to it for carp! Thanks 🎉

A nice trick when fighting carp is to hold the tip of the rod very low. Sometimes even in the water. Carp don't like their nose pulled down.
Awesome 🎣🤘
Thanks!
It seems that this Italian gentleman has a lot of experience and information to share.
Yes. Few know more about fly fishing than Paolo 🙏

Don't bring a 5 weight to a big carp fight. Seems unethical to the fish. Love your videos, Robert.
