Great to see you back nic ...badly missed in F v J 15....we drip feed dog biscuits to get the carp confident & cut a cork ball to biscuit shape glued to bare hook..8wt fly rod cos we get double figure carp often...Great video guys👍👍
Nice video, fun watching it. Well done. 👌💪 I use 2 different strategies in carp fishing: 1. Never try to set the hook, when the mouth points towards you. That way many times the hook gets pulled out. 2. In order not having to strip the fly out of the muddy "feeding cloud" for an improved chance to feel the fish on the fly, use a tiny strike indicator. That way you can let the fly drop and hang in front of the mouth. Fast stripping causes the fish to follow and points the mouth towards you. Regards Bernd

I have the vision vapa 5wt will it hold smaller carp 30/40cm? Im from the netherlands and there swims allot of carp here in the cannels and im pretty scared to brake my rod when i hook one
I have been fly fishing for carp for over 30 years here in South Africa and I have caught carp over 10 kilos on a 5 weight. As long as you are careful you will be fine.

I've been using my 3wt lately. My biggest so far is 15lb or close to 7kg. Carp on fly is slowly becoming more popular in Australia.

hooked a white koi today on my vapa 5wt sadly my tipet broke off rod held up fine
@@fristipapi Koi are strong.... I use 8 pound maxima tippet. Works great most of the time.
