- Today we taste and review Springbank 12 Cask Strength.
Also, by viewer request, we blend Laphroaig 10, Monkey Shoulder, and Yamazaki 12 in an attempt to make a poor man's Laphroaig 32.

** Can I donate a whisk(e)y for you to review in The Whisk(e)y Vault?
Of course! If you’re interested in making a tax-deductible donation towards our whiskey selection, head on over to:

** What's with the necklaces?
Rex is a whiskey mooch. His necklace is a manifestation of pure glory - forged from the irradiated bones of eagles and wolves. Also a tube sock.
See the origin story here: goo.gl/JMc2Hr
Daniel is a whiskey sommelier. His necklace is a token of his sommelier level, and he trains whiskey sommeliers at The Whisk(e)y Marketing School in Austin Texas.
**A Whisk(e)y school?
Yup. Here are a few things we believe.
** You don’t have to be a snob to appreciate and love great whiskey.
Whisky and Whiskey (it depends on where it’s from) have been an important part of cultures around the world from time immemorial. Whiskey is a part of the very fabric of Western society, and in most places, is as common and accessible as beer.
Like Jazz and wine, snobs have predictably hijacked whiskey appreciation, spoiling our natural, common connection with it and creating a false dichotomy of “good whiskey” and “bad whiskey.”
It’s time to break through the emotional bias with facts and science. That’s what this school is about.
** The only valid definition of “good” whiskey is “whiskey you like to drink.”
Learning how to share your love of whiskey in a way that connects people to the history and the story has more to do with public speaking and storytelling than it does with facts and tests.
The best way to learn about whiskey and share that love is to drink whiskey and talk about it with friends. Study the history, find the stories, and discover the culture and the methods that have been developed over hundreds of years. That’s what you’ll do when you attend The Whisk(e)y Marketing School.
** You don’t need a marketing degree to learn how to share your love of whiskey with the world.
There's an old saying, "In business, it's not what you know... It's who you know."
Regardless the industry you're in, most people are clumsy and ineffective when it comes to "networking" because they ignore a very important rule - Relationship First, Business Second.
There's a tremendous amount of curiosity about Whisk(e)y today. It's a great excuse for you to gather a group of people who want to have fun and learn something new. The Whisk(e)y School teaches you how to tap into that curiosity, and share your love of whisk(e)y in an unpretentious way. You're demonstrating knowledge, expertise, and an engaging personality - things valued by every gatekeeper, in every industry.
Or would you rather hand out business cards and cross your fingers?

I think I've dated a few women who fit that description...
An instant classic!!!
So Rex has reached expert level as he no longer feels the harshness. You have sucessfully mooched to gain this expertise so i must congratulate you 'round of applause'
Grovesrussell, 😳😁👍
Thanks for trying my blend! I'm a beginner when it comes to Scotch and I never tried Laphroaig 32 so I based my blend on your description from your Laphroaig 32 video.
Just found you guys today...new to scotch and have been watching ralfy non stop for a month straight. heard ralfy mention you and wanted to check you out. Good call on this one Daniel...I'm a woman and Springbank 12 CS was my first "craft" style dram. Was ordered for me in an amazing whisky bar in DC called the Jack Rose...a great dram and a fantastic memory... Love it! You guys are hilarious! Keep it up!
Just bought a Monkey Shoulder yesterday as my first whiskey as per your recommendation, and I have to say that, although my initial experience was that of: WHAT THE FUCK THIS DOES NOT TASTE SWEET IT TASTES LIKE LICKING AN OAK BARREL THAT HAS BEEN DRENCHED IN ALCOHOL! I quickly grew accustomed to the powerful alcohol vapours by my second tasting. Having waited a day to taste more, I can now say that I can appreciate the flavours that whiskey (specifically Monkey Shoulder) offers and I'm really glad that I gave it a go. Your passion for whiskey (Both Rex and Daniel) is infectious and I am already thinking of the next whiskey I want to buy and try. Thanks a lot for sharing your passion!
So glad you got past the initial alcohol! Welcome to the journey
Dude that was me a couple months ago when I found this channel. I’d never really drank whiskey before and now I’ve got a growing little collection.
If you think your second bottle was good, have a little dark chocolate with sea salt the next time you pour. Just a little.
Ergo Proxy
Great story! So it goes for most of us. I started 3 years ago on Ballentine’s 12, then Tullamore Dew. It took a month before the penny dropped and I “got it”. Now I have a regular fortnightly buying schedule and looking forward to trying Glenfarclas 10 tomorrow.
There is a very good guy youtube video on how to drink scotch. It really addresses the issue of alcohol vapors that affect taste in to the drink. Believe it's by the brand ambassador for Macallan.
Is it weird that even if i've never really tasted whiskey (or maybe tasted some cheap stuff once), i still really enjoy videos that these guys produce. I am impressed how passionate and professional you seem to be, keep up the great work.
Thanks!
Laugh Out Loud for "It's raining men".
Super informative is Daniel on Springbank's process. Well done, and thanks.
I finally got my hands on a longmorn 16. And I have to say: Thank you Daniel for recommending this magnificent Whisky. After two glasses I can already say he is in my top 3, easily.
What are the other 2?
And thanks for the mention!
Just got this last night. Love it.!
Opening with bottle down ceremony... oh this is going to be a good one.
Love the channel! So you’ve done the best bangs for the buck, but what about something where like in this video you blend some of those contenders to create richer profiles. Cheers!
As someone who isn't from the UK, your Scottish accent imitation actually seems pretty good.
Before watching this video I was going to ask you guys if there was a whisky out there with all the smoke and bring of an Ardbeg 10 and all the sweet sherry goodness of a Macallan 12. Thanks for answering my question before I even asked it! Time to get my hands on some Springbank.
Just recently tried Springbank 10 and I love it. My preferred whiskies are Laphroaig 10 and Ardbeg 10 so I am wanting to try Longrow also. Will you guys be doing a "review" of Laphroaig Lore or Ardbeg Supernova anytime soon? Thanks for the videos and continue to make great content!
Great whiskey that Springbank amazing value really good quality! Just had a dram of Yamazaki 18! Hahahahaha! Longrow 18 review please! Slainte mhath!
Not sure if this will be read as this is an older video but I would love to hear Daniel explain his choices for his introduction to the regions. Some interesting choices there.
You sparkled his beard! Bahahahhahaha
I fell in love with Ardbeg as my first good Scotch but also fell in love sherry cask finished whisky like Macallan and Glen Morangie Lasanta 12 when I tried them for the first time, is that not common ?
This is something that happens with beer drinkers who get into hops for the first time. You chase that being blown away and beat up by the beer, you seek out the biggest double IPA's then you eventually dial it back and look for the most flavor and complexity at the lowest abv and occasionally indulge in doubles etc to dig below the huge up front flavors. Pallets change and adapt and crave hops very quickly too. I've been through it and I know a bunch of others who have taken the same journey.
Is there a whiskey in the vault you DON'T like? If so, why?
Please review Glenfiddich 21! Also, when you talk about getting past the harsh notes, if the bottle was half empty and had been open for a few months, would that 'highlight' the background notes, as the harsh notes weaken through oxidation?
Of the dozen or so scotches I have had, Springbank 10 gets my vote for the best.
Today i got my bottle Longmorn 16 (the old one)...that i can buy on Amazon in Germany für 90 Euro *cough*. I have to say my experience is wildly different from Daniels. For me the Whisky starts silent, rich and sweet. Then the pepper and oak in general comes slowly into the front and brings the drama. To me the whisky progresses like a crescendo. The Finish is smooth and caramel. I love it.
Great video guys, I myself love the Springbank 12 CS and reviewed it, as I was inspired by my recent trip to the distillery and loved the place. Have you tried the Springbank 14 Year Old Bourbon Wood? & Have you noticed the differences in the Springbank 12 CS batches year to year? As personally I enjoyed the 2016 one a lot more then the current release but both great whiskies. Slainte
I haven't A/B compared, but I need to. Love what they are doing.
I've been wondering about what the best way to get into Islay scotch. I've only tried a little bit of Lagavulin 16 that I mooched from my dad, but that was before I had really started drinking whiskey and the only flavor I got reminded me of a campfire. Any recommendations of where to start?
Will you please do a review on The Sexton Single Malt Irish Whiskey?
Thanks for saving me the 39 hours.
Hey guys love the show and wanted you guys to give Canadian whiskey another try. How about Canadian club chairmans select 100% rye.
Hey Daniel, I'm a college student in Georgia who enjoys sipping whiskey more than most of my peers seem to. Wild Turkey is my go-to, but a WONDERFUL friend gifted me a handle of bulleit bourbon and Four Roses single barrel, both of which I adored. 4R single is now my favorite bourbon. The only Scotch I've had is Laphroaig 10, which is all my dad drinks. My parents are sending my sister and me to Glasgow around the end of May and early January, and because I'm not yet of age and can't purchase them here, I want to spend some time in the Pot Still pub there tasting multiple different whiskies in different styles. I've been thinking over how to ask your advice on this for a while, and I think the mention of your "regions tour" relates well enough for this to be a relevant comment for this video. Could I email y'all with my preliminary list and maybe hear some tweaks, additions, or alternative suggestions?
I'd would love an explainer video for those beginner tour choices. I'd actually like that video to give a little range of choices per region, too. Maybe beginner, intermediate, and advanced? Or maybe two beginners per region? I think there are a wealth of videos that could come from that kind of subject matter. (i.e. Are Scotches the only whisk(e)y with this sort of range? What about Irish differences, or bourbon? Even though I don't like bourbon... Maybe I'm trying the wrong ones.) I really enjoy the nerdy learning side of this new hobby. 😁 I just see a lot of recommendation videos on UA-cam, but not so much of the why, which I think Daniel is so good at. Educational whiskey videos are a little hard to find like that. Or if anyone has suggestions for videos that do this kind of needing out, I'm all ears. I guess it just turns out that I really want to pick Daniel's brain for his knowledge. I'd love the nosing and palate skills too. I'm stuck on good/bad/different so far. Good/bad tends to hit my mouth as interesting/gross. 😉 I can't discern any specific flavors... Ooh! A video of suggestions to help isolate/learn certain flavors would be neat! If that is even possible... 🤔 Oops... I'm ranting... Sorry.
Great video. I really love when you do blends. My question is this could it work if you reduced the monkey shoulder to 20% and added 10% jameson for the fruit notes?
not enough fruit notes.
We need the video of the explanation of the tour of Scotland!!! I have been buying and trying whiskey with every video you guys make.... just ask my wife... I keep telling my friends who are not the biggest whisky heads that I want to take them on a world tour of whisk(e)y in hopes of converting at least one to drink whisky with me!!
I had to try the "Laphroaig 10, Monkey Shoulder and Yamazaki 12 blend" the minute I saw this. Very Nice! I have found My People!
How would you recreate a Johnnie Walker blue with other scotches? If not with scotches maybe with any other whiskey's? You guys rock!
Hey Rex & Daniel (notice how I said Rex's name first) I was curious if you'd review Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon. I checked all over your channel and didn't see a review for that yet. Secondly do you have any suggestions for top tier 75 dollar to 150 dollar bourbons for special occasions? I enjoy vanilla, cherry, cinnamon and smoky flavors. Love the channel!
I just felt like a mooch for the first time some days ago. I was visitting my parents (not from the US so no holiday visit, just a regular one) and my dad brought out the big guns: a Teacher Royal Highland 12 bottled in the 70s he got as a present recently. I felt kind of bad after looking up the price the next day (because I hoped to buy a bottle)
What's the most expensive bottle you have in the vault and what does it taste like
Rex is on fire today.
Daniel's Five Regions of Scottish Whisky Flight at 2:25
Love to watch Daniel blend and Rex taste. Y'all are doing the peoples work. Have you tried 50% Old Weller Antique 107 + 40 % W. L. Weller 12 + 10% Evan Williams 1783 to replicate Pappy Van Winkle?
Hello from a new fan! I’ve spent the last week binge watching your videos and came across the one you (Daniel) did on Modern Rogue where you discussed Scottish malt whiskey. My question is can a Scottish made whiskey be marketed in America as a malt if it is less than 100% barley even though it cannot be in Scotland?
There's no current legal definition of "Single Malt' in American regulations.
American "Malts' currently only have to be at least 51% barley. Similar to bourbon being 51% corn and rye being at least 51% rye.
For me Springbank is the best Distillery . Springbank - starting from 10 y upto 21 .their complex .They Have different style of making single malt. Traditional wise.
Man, I mixed achetochen with laphroaig 12, then redbreast 12 with monkey shoulder. I think I have enough to try the laphroaig 32 mix......65% is better than nothing. Would Nikka Coffy be a good Yamazaki 12 stand in or redbreast 12? Thanks
Now! This has aged well, try getting a 12 Cs today! Springbank is where flippers and drinkers alike have now found their happy place. The Kilkerran 12 (2022) that I am drinking right now is amazing!
can you do an episode of recommended cask strength scotches?
Do a video on the Scottish regions!
So I was in St Angelo TX for the holidays and decided to splurge and get me a new bottle of whiskey. I live in Oklahoma where there are several things I can not get here and also alcohol tends to be more expansive. I decided on a bottle of hibiki harmony which ran me about 75 dollar, (in Oklahoma they want 26 dollars a glass and is not readily available). Upon closer inspection they wanted over $55 for laphroiag 10 and almost 60 for a bottle of angels envy (which I picked up for $50 in tulsa). So I was wondering if it was just the specific county I was in for the up charge in whiskey.
If it was a smaller town (like San Angelo), the often have smaller independent liquor stores. Those prices can be all over the map. But I think there's a Specs in San Angelo. If so, I have no idea why it was so pricey!
Hey there! You guys promised you'd do an episode on Jameson Black Barrel/Black Barrel Reserve when you did the episode on Jameson Caskmates, and since I've recently finished a bottle of it, I'd really like to know your opinions on it (and if I've gone insane because I was the only person in the group with whom I initially cracked the bottle open who tasted a slight note of almonds)
You use Bunnahabhain 12 for your Islay in your tour of Scotland? Interesting. No peat. Why is that? My guess is that it provides the depth and earthiness of that region without the peat overpowering the folks tasting, who probably aren't that experienced? Whatever dude. You picked the Bunny. So I LOVE you for that!
Also, re: your somewhat disparaging comments about me in the Diamondback video. I thought you fuckin' LIVED in that tower. So coming after dark made sense to me. What kind of wizard keeps business hours?????
I thought they were a little harsh as well. If I were them I would live there.
You're clearly a man of distinction, honor, and taste. Count me among your friends, good sir!
Great idea for a spectrum video, Anyone watching here in Canada redbreast is $20 off right now at the LC... cheers!
Yet another "Ontarian?" who thinks Ontario is Canada.
Jimmy Leg pipe down there spring bank
Heey Daniel do you think you can do a video just about scotch. Id like to learn about the different region's and their whisky. Also i been wonder why Rex hasn't wore his mooch necklace for a while.
Had rotator cuff surgery this AM. Typing with nondominant hand on phone so I will keep it short. Bottom Shelf Matters. And i e m looking forward to the Ancient Ancient Age review:)
Yes. We will approach it.
Your fastball will come back. Don't worry.
I made a comment a while back, regarding aging whiskey at home, and my theory was, to allow the wood and spirit to evolve into more nuanced flavors, chemical compounds, by using a "tired" barrel, in terms of being used a couple of times, thus taking out the harsh new oak flavors. I've had 5 liters of moonshine with 40% abv in my barrel for 4 months now, and the nuances is definitely showing, more than a regular small bare aging process, and it still needs more time to be perfect. So, to get a nuanced aged whiskey from moonshine, use a "tired" or third fill small barrel, the spirit at around 40% abv or a little higher and magic is on the way 😉
I agree with this completely. Love how that happens.
Will you do any video on this subject in the future, either in the vault or on Biscuits, with the distillery and all? I say "you", because Rex apparently doesn't approve of my dad jokes either 😉
Do the Daniel spectrum!!!
This was a good geek/shenanigans mix! Protect your girls scouts folks! Rex is on the loose.
For someone who enjoys mostly high rye and wheated bourbons what would be some good entry level scotch whiskys to try?
Hmmmm. good question. Maybe the Maritime malts? Oban, Talisker, Jura, or Arran.
I love Bunnahabain 12, might be my favorite 12. But why would you use it as an introduction to Islay when it is not really representative of the region? That would be like using Craigellechie to represent Speyside.
Would love to see a video on Daniel's scotch spectrum
Hey Somm, do you remember the ABV on that Springbank 12 CS? Each time it’s bottled they have a different ABV so you can track which year both Spring and Fall.
I'll see if I can find the old bottle.
Whiskey Vault www.benswhisky.co.uk/p/springbank-cask-strength-12-year-old.html?m=1
Just for FYI
One thing I really like about Springbank is that they have a whisky school that teaches the entire production process. I think that's really cool. I have Springbank 12 Burgundy cask and I'm wondering how it compares to this. I haven't had a lot of stuff from them. Are all the core lineup sherry finished? The website doesn't say. Just wondering if there's much variation btw the 10, 15, and 18 yr?
charlie.g.hague 10 is almost only ex bourbon. I think maybe 10% sherry. 15 has way more sherry, dunno about the 18.
For me, the weird thing about Springbank is, that they are all damn good. I even like the 10 better than the 15.
I believe that's a commonly held opinion. The 10 is very highly regarded.
Ironbooze Springbank 12 CS is 70% sherry and 30% bourbon, ralfy said so in his review on this whiskey.
All I can think about when Rex starts talking about "the pepel" is George Hamilton's ridiculous accent in Zorro the gay blade as he talks about how he fights for the people.
Love the show keep up the good work.
P.S: The poor man's blends were awesome episodes and some of my favorites #rexyear
Hi Daniel, Do you mind explaining why Bunnahabhain 12 for Islay? just curious, since I want to get into whiskey/scotch and heard people saying that Bunnahabhain 12 would be a great introduction to smokey whiskey.
If I was really trying to explore Islay, it would be a different one. But most of my guests in that tasting are new to whisky. I use it to show them that Islay can be nuanced and beautiful without having smoke to overcome. It makes for a great story, and it really disrupts expectations. Which both make for better tastings.
Whiskey Vault Well, I'm fairly new to whisk(e)y and I gladly take your recommendation. I started with Bushmills 10, and for my first bottle, I still found it a bit sweet though. Anyways, just ordered Bunna 12 and cant wait for it to come. Thank you guys!
I was surprised that there is no Islands in your tasting selection. Or do they come seperate because they are so different?
Some consider the "Islands" to be the 6th region. But I try to keep it simple when introducing people. complexity is a bad way to start.
7:57 best description ever. ↘️.
That was a perfect Wick accent...
Do you guys use parafilm to keep your whiskies from oxidizing? Noticed that some of my whiskies, eg Highland Park, changed their entry tastes after about 15% of the bottle was consumed.
We haven't, but I'm about to do that soon.
The Bourbonite just did video about this kind of thing a couple of days ago. ua-cam.com/video/-YxW2FgbR1c/v-deo.html
He also has one specifically about whether or not you should gas your whisky: ua-cam.com/video/JFuwtC6ZwaI/v-deo.html
Just as another reference :-)
Canadian Whisky Smith Nice!
@daniel: but bunnahabhain 12 is unpeated. It's not really representative for Islay, right? Anyway it's probably my favourite 12y old. It's fantastic
LOL @ 0:15 you said Springbank like you where talking for the "PEOPLE"
Why Bunnahabhain for Islay? Why not Ardbeg, Laphroaig or Lagavulin? I would watch a video of Daniel explaining his choices.
It's a pretty specific reason. It's not my favorite Islay, but I love it. And when I'm doing these tours, I'm usually working with at least half a room of first time whisky drinkers. I like to show them that Islay has subtlety and nuance behind the peat. Especially when they're used to scotch people trying to shock them with Laphroaig.
Makes sense. And Bunnahabhain is really friggin' good too.
Is Springbank still available? Master of malt says it’s discontinued!?
They release a different variation twice a year. Each one slightly different.
2:40, DING DING DING DING, explain those misteeer!!
hahahaha Rex has achieved secret god-like mooch levels already. #goRex Just yesterday I had my first single malt ever, it was Highland Park 12 viking honour... I can definitely say it was the best alcoholic beverage I had to date. What would you say it's the best way to improve your tasting experience and get to feel the nuances and all that? Keep drinking? haha Cheers!
Yeah, continuing to try things and think about it while drinking is the only way forward. Welcome to the journey!
So for us non sommelier/mooch experts, should we start humming and dancing before we taste every whiskey?
That was a suitably solemn Bottle Down Ceremony. Note the empty bottle...
Mitch Crowther only when it's a bottle down.
Only when a bottle has just been emptied and it had served you well. No ceremony for bad whiskey.
Could you guys do a video of your least favorite whiskey s. I'm curious to know your hated whiskeys
You can start with Old Forester Mint Julep
When are these guys gonna release some moochendise?!
You know that's a good one, 👍 like
Ross Ross "somm "day. I presume *dad joke cough*
Martin Kjellvander GOLD
There are glencairn glasses available on the distillery webpage
Daniel,. I LOVE the sparkles in the beard as you depart with "If you steal, may you steal a lovers heart"... It's like a glimpse of a magical unicorns ass as it turns and runs away from you...Don't you agree Rex? :-) ....Love the channel guys...You truly are my magical unicorn of UA-cam subscriptions...Would love to eventually go Somm lvl5 thru you some day.
So you are rapidly approaching 50k subscribers...will there be any celebrating for the mile stone? I recommend that you taste a 50 yr old to commemorate. Or in the likely hood that you do not have a bottle that old a blend whiskey that add to 50 yr. Just an idea, but I think it would be interesting. Cheers
We're planning on a 50k Live stream!
Sweet, any insight to what will happen on the live stream? Maybe more audio drama. Hehehe
Irishman walks into a Library, “Can I have fish and chips please.”
The Librarian says, “This is a library.”
The Irishman replies, “Oh sorry,” *whispers, “Fish and chips please.”
hahahahahahahahaha
The first five words were pretty funny on their own.
I was wondering... with all those whisky bottles sitting behind you being half to 2/3 empty, are you planning to finish them all before the whisky oxidizes? - Rex, I know your answer ;-) Also, what kind of taste and flavor changes should we expect from an older opened bottle?
Gentlemen, I’m proud to announce I just returned from #moochcruise2017 where my brother, who hates whisky (not sure if we’re related) got the drink pass for unlimited booze. So i didn’t have to also get one we came up with a plan where I would “give recommendations” in front of the waiter. Once he got the drink he would pass it to me say he didn’t like it so I just had to give him different recommendations until he found one he liked... this persisted for four days averaging about 5 glasses a night. What level mooch does that get me?
Brilliant.
“I’ll hold your monkey”.... hahahahaha! Classic...
This is probably a question you get all the time but I was recent given a $100 voucher to bottle shop (Aussie version of a liquor store) and I looking for a recommendation. I love bourbon, have tried a few but not many scotches and recently tried laphroaig 10 and really enjoyed the different tastes and smells. And after watching the show For a while now I’m confused with so many good options please help
I’ll say this is my list of whiskeys to try
Monkey shoulder
Jameson caskbrothers
Makers 46
Nikka coffey grain whiskey
Canadian club 20
jp wiser 18
Glenlivet founders res+
But I’m thinking something a bit smoky
And now the whiskey from the video I’m very confused haha please help
Your whole list is solid
Hey guys, the other day a guest at work jokingly asked for a shot of scotch in his coffee. Is this a thing people do? And is it any good? I’d never heard of it but it got me curious.
only one way to know......
Whiskey Vault alright well I’ll try it on Saturday and report back with my findings. You know, for science...
Speyburn 10, guys. C'mon. Test the whole line.
Awful1 one of the best values in single malts.
Chiles Martial Arts, Agreed! Why they haven't tested this yet is beyond me. I'm starting to think they only rate bottles that are expensive, as if that is their ONLY audience.
In their defense there is a ton of good whisky out there. They have done some cheap stuff and they kind of have to do the more popular stuff to keep ratings up.
How about another live event for 50,000 subscribers!!
That's the plan!
*Says under the breathe with a thrusting downward elbow and closed fit*, yes!
I feel like this should be done at least quarterly...kinda sorta :-) (I'm sure they're SUPER easy to pull off )
Not scotish enough, I can still understand what you're saying
Sorry for the double comment but as i'm watching this video and as you were talking about how they take it from a " beer " to whiskey does any place sell it " beer " stage in the video guy says it's a very smoky beer. 3x the smoke taste and warm and yeasty ... Anything like that commercially and if not in your guys future endeavor would you consider bottling and reviewing something along those lines. Thanks Brad N.
You couldn't sell the 'beer' stage because it doesn't actually go through the correct processes to be a beer. It's called "beer" but don't mistake it for actual beer. It's more just a production product on its way to hard alcohol. Like having all the ingredients in the cake pan before it goes into the oven.
Okay i understand that just they called the " beer " couldn't you label it some new name Rex Mix and sell it ? I'm just wondering more if it's sold any place like has it ever been bottled at that point by any maker ? .. Oh and just totally geeked out seeing a reply. ( Whiskey Fanboi omg can i have your autograph moment )
“The sweetness of a Girl Scout with the aggression of a meth head.” I mean... that’s f-ing poetry right there.
Sparkle beard at 13:37
It was really more of a fireworks display! :-) #ThanksChad
Does whiskey have a self life? Just wondering if I should drink my whiskey faster.
If you drink a bottle in less than 3 months, you have nothing to worry about. A mostly full bottle will will last you years. half full at least a year. less than 1/4 and you have a few months before the evaporation becomes a problem.
You might also find this week's Bourbonite video to be helpful: ua-cam.com/video/-YxW2FgbR1c/v-deo.html
TO ALL OF THE TRIBE. I live in the UK and am looking to send a bottle over to the guys. Has any1 got experiance of doing this as it seems like there are loads of rules and regs plus depending on who you send it with it seems to cost between £40 and £115 per bottle. Any help would be great as this bottle needs to get to Daniel
People keep asking me what I want for Christmas. APPARENTLY... a bottle of Lagavulin is not on anyone's shortlist of "affordable gifts". Just fuel my dependency (kidding) on brown liquor and leave me be!
Liquor store gift cards. The second best thing in the world.
I'm not following the rules, but it's because I don't think you'll use my toast... #toast
"May Rex walk the plank (off a pirate ship, into the ocean) and may Rex's Wife co-host the show for a week."

Rex asked me to ask you for some new jokes :)
Lionel Richie told him that joke so he's always retelling it. Lionel is a badass.

Patrick Hodson, it's raining men.
Rex ah ok yeah I hear it now
