    I can't thank you enough for this video! I thought I had purchased a cylindrical but all information-pictures and videos don't look anything like the one I have. Thanks again for all the information. At least NOW I know what I have and can better take care of it ❤️

      I purchased 5 huge one's thought they were cyclindrica but I know know they're Sansevieria Bacularis. I didn't like them at first but I'm so glad they grow straight upward.

    I purchased a Sansevieria from Lowes that looks just like this from the discount rack. I will have to look at it and check the new growths to see if they are purplish on the sheath. Always helpful my friend

      Fingers crossed you found this one Chris...I like it so much more than the standard cylindrica….with the exception of boncel…. that's a nice compact cylindrica :)

    I have three types of sansevierias, and I plan on having like 10 pots of them in total because they are among the best air purifier plants that you can get. Also, they give you oxygene at night. :) I have the S. trifasciata laurentii (reverting back to non variegated in some cases), S. trifasciata hahnii, and S. Cylindrica. I'd really like to get the S. trifasciata 'Black Coral' and the silvery trifasciata too. :)

    I never really liked the Sansevieria before. Here in S California there are ubiquitous in the landscape of many homes and just seemed too commonplace to me. That was before I realized there are so many varieties! I recently bought a couple bird’s nest type. Then I found one of the tiniest bacularis at Ikea, 2” pot with about a dozen stems from 4 to 6 inches tall. It has some roots but it isn’t rootbound. I’m not sure if it will survive or not but it’s so cute!

    Nice one. Structural without being an obstruction! Gosh, your S. cylindrica has gotten huge. I was gifted an even more awkward Sansevieria , which I believe is S. singularis. It’s similar in size and growth habit to cylindrica but instead of fanning upward and out , it fans sideways and down! I had to pot it in a very wide shallow container which I then placed on a stand. It still pokes me all the time! Another, albeit smaller, awkward one I have is S. parva. It sends out descending runners from the leaf axils a few inches up the stems. Im trying it as a hanging basket. As far as favorites out of my collection, I like the variegated ‘Bantel’s Sensation ‘ and another more recent gift , a large pot of S. masoniana. ~ Llifle.com seems to be the only decent source of information on certain Sansevieria.

    I love Sanseveria, I have 17 of them :) but I don't have this one. Very cool! Yes root rot is the #1 concern. I've experienced it once, mildly and was able to save the rest of the plant. I will have to look for this variety. I love climbers and plants with height. I love all plants, indoors and out but adding some with height amongst the rest, gives that architecturral dimension that compliments the other plants. Beautiful pot! Love the deep blue color. Excellent price for glazed terra cotta. My favorite by far. I have 3 large Queen Ann ferns that I am anxious to put back on my deck so that they can rebound from being in my basement. They bounce back nicely every year. I have them near basement windows and keep them moist and misted. They're still nice but once it's warm enough outside they will look nice and lush again. :) I have 97 house plants lol. Great video! I'm in Northeastern Ontario so it's still very cold and we have snow. :)

      I don’t know if my sansveria has root rot. Would you be able to share what it looks like? Mine looks like wilted and shruk in the middle od the leaf. :-( i keep it indoors and probably lacks bright light. I water it twice a week.

    • @PlantzNThings
      @PlantzNThings  4 роки тому +1

      They might need a little help for a bit... put a few bamboo poles in there to keep them upright.... the same thing happened to me after I repotted this one... a few lost their anchor roots i think.... they should firm back up.

    How on earth did you find this bacularis. I’ve been to all my local nurseries, online shopping and Etsy. But nobody seems to have an actual bacularis, everyone has a fernwood or mikado hybrid and calls it a bacularis. I would do anything for a rooted cutting🥺🙌🏾

    • @PlantzNThings
      @PlantzNThings  3 роки тому

      I have never seen it since to be honest... I also haven't seen it on any mail order sites. You just need to keep your eyes peeled in groupings of cylindrica... mislabeled plants might be the only way 😞

    What is the difference between bacularis and lancia sansevieria?

    • @PlantzNThings
      @PlantzNThings  9 місяців тому +1

      Good question... i have never heard of the Lancia before. when i googled it it, there wasn't much about it other than some sellers have it... the tell tale sign you have a Bacularis is the purple sheath that the new growth emerges from. and many photos of the "Lancia" had a purple sheath. i have a feeling it's just one of those marketing things and they are all Bacularis.

    Is it safe to propagate with cuttings? Like when you cut SANSEVIEARIA cylindrica into 3-5 inch pieces put into a soil? Is it safe to do that with BACULARIS type as well??

    • @PlantzNThings
      @PlantzNThings  4 роки тому

      I'm not sure what you mean by Safe? All Sansevaria should fairly easily be propagated by leaf cuttings.
