Correct. Nothing AT ALL about Tyson being “smart” or marketing himself. Dude is getting his ass kicked and somehow Atlas thinks he’s conducting marketing sessions in the ring. Teddy is an extremely low IQ guy.
I have followed and got to watch most of his fights through out his career. I have always thought he bit his gloves to remind himself to keep his gloves up. Guard up, hands up. Protect your face. I boxed as a kid and I had a reminder to keep my gloves up. 😀👊🙏
I followed Mike through his career, never saw the thumb biting like that. He was too busy knocking everyone out. Seemed like frustration and some sort of reminder, like every time he could have landed something great he bit his gloves instead. Who knows. Only he knows
An oral fixation, is a a term used in psychology from being neglected. Tyson talks about his relationship with his mom. Having a biting fixation is a trauma response, but it doesn't have anything to do with self esteem issues Teddy, some people use stress balls Tyson bites his glove.
Teddy didn't use the words self-esteem. He was talking about anxiety. Which is related to trauma, exactly as you say. If it soothed him then, it will sooth him know when his nerves are acting up. And, BTW, no one has been more candid about having low self-esteem (even if Teddy didn't mention it) and feeling fear in the ring than Iron Mike. Cus taught him how to use it to his advantage by channeling it into aggression. But it never went away. And probably doesn't for many fighters.
Mike simply didn't have the legs to compete in that fight. After the first couple of minutes in the 1st round, Mike's legs were dead, and he knew it. That's what happens when you are 58 years old. It wasn't rigged either. Jake just didn't want to take a chance of mixing it up with Tyson too much, and letting him land something clean. Those legs were one of the keys to Tyson's success, and it's also one of the reasons for his fall from grace later in his career. If he was a Lennox Lewis type of fighter, then he might have had a bit more success against Jake trying outpoint him, but he isn't a huge guy with a long reach. He relied on mobility, and footwork to succeed even more than his punching power back when he was the baddest man on the planet.
A glitch... Look at Leo Santa Cruz his lead hand always shakes n gitter,...just a nervous habit.. similar to a reflex glitch when a jab or cross lands clean. You become to alert n do weird stuff..
After that first round tyson realized that paul was Nowhere near the caliber boxer that tyson used to fight constantly. And he didn't want to hurt Him. Compare the first round to every other round And honestly ask yourself, do you think Tyson got gassed?Or do you think that something was said to hinder in that clinch? Something along the lines of what Logan said uh , Mayweather, " Come on man lighten up a little bit.."
Everyone in these comments talking how he bit his glove to hold back unleashing fury😂😂 did y'all not see dude waddling around in there like he was about to tip over at any given movement. Mike was done after 2nd round, didn't have a chance. The fact any of you thought a 58yr old man vs young adult was gonna be an actual fight is pathetic honestly.
My only input is as a therapist qualified in psychology this was, in my opinion, a neurological chemical response to too much or too little of something.
Mike was biting his gloves because he wanted to go full throttle but was holding back clearly jake said something after first round in clinch was clearly a planned exhibition no ko clause and Tyson got a set amount for going to end
It would be interesting to see what Tyson could still do if he were fighting with actual malice and anger, with the benefit of adrenaline shooting through his system. Like a street fight instead of a boing match.
We know Mike didn't do this in other fights. So what, did Jake's people pay off Teddy too so he'd repeat this BS? Seems like it. I'm with those who believe the biting was a signal in a fixed fight
Okay so they keep saying he bit his gloves because he has done this in the past and it’s a habit he has had throughout his career. OKAY then show the footage……… I haven’t found one video of his old fights of him biting his gloves in the ring. I watched recently 3 full fights of his old fights and absolutely ZERO BITING. The real reason his bit his gloves was to slow his reactions down to not hit him. If you really stop and think you can’t just throw a punch on instinct when you got a glove in your mouth. It was a way to slow himself down and then the whole knee thing. I think that was BS also. It was fully rigged and he got laid 20 million to do it. I’m not knocking Mike one bit for doing it but let’s be real about this stuff.
This is the biggest crock of shit. He’s not biting his glove to look like a boogie man, he’s biting his glove because he struggles to control himself. It allows him to instantly release a violent urge without acting on the actual urge (killing someone). It was so prevalent in this fight more than others because of the extreme level of script coherence required. If he didn’t bite that glove, the other glove woulda knocked Jake back into his mamas womb.
The fight was rigged this was him reminding himself not to knock Jake out. Early in the fight he rang Jake's bell and then Jake grapples with him and reminds him about the payday for lasting 8 rounds. Mike still had it in him just look at his recent training videos. Why didn't we see that Mike that was tearing it up in training?
Strong theory. Is that based on anything other than Reddit and feeling like you know things? How long were you a pro boxer? Pro boxing coach? Never? Oh. Why have an opinion strong enough to post for the whole planet to see for eternity?
My conspiracy theory Something in the contract said Mike couldn’t touch or do anything crazy to Paul in the build up and press conferences (i.e Floyd v Conor) but once Mike slapped him at the weigh-in a back room deal was cut to keep the money 1. You show your cheeks live on camera before the fight 2. You stand there like an idiot biting your glove, embarrassing Mike for the slap

@@d_no_allyn_86 lol way to cherry pick what about Jake didn’t go for the kill for the last half of the fight with Tyson standing in front of him? How come Mike didn’t throw any combinations in the first half of the fight his only chance? “Punches in bunches” You’re telling me he was gassedfrom the first 30 seconds? You must not be a Tyson fan. How come there was no dirty boxing? How come no punching to get out of the clinch which there was clenches. Maybe rewatch the fight. It’s a payday. Mike needed the money. I’m glad he got paid but he wasted our Friday night. Clearly this is not just my opinion.
Wen he feels he is losing, he gets that. Look it up !
Correct. Nothing AT ALL about Tyson being “smart” or marketing himself. Dude is getting his ass kicked and somehow Atlas thinks he’s conducting marketing sessions in the ring. Teddy is an extremely low IQ guy.
@@jrock2460 no plan at all you have ^^
Please tell me what sanctioned fight I can go back and watch where Tyson is biting his glove?
Can you do a video on Evander's headbutts?
and steroid use
@ That’s true. Didn’t he recently deny that when it was blatantly obvious he was caught buying them? 😂😂
That image of his butt cheeks was unforgettable.
a dog would chew on things to ease off its stresses
I was at Tyson VS McBride. Mike bit his glove in that fight when he started getting tired.
Not like this though
@SomeBodyIUsedToKnow8 Have you watched Tyson vs McBride in its entirety?
@@SomeBodyIUsedToKnow8
No it was way worse
@@tcb6857 yes. Nothing like vs Paul. Against Paul he did nothing other than suck on his glove lol
I thought he said years ago that he bit his glove when he got tired so he can keep his hands up
Either the thumb or your ear. Take your pick
A glitch... Look at Leo Santa Cruz his lead hand always shakes n gitter,...just a nervous habit.. similar to a reflex glitch when a jab or cross lands clean. You become to alert n do weird stuff..
You're right. Sadly, most of the people commenting on this likely have no idea who Leo Santa Cruz is.
He bit his gloves out of frustration that he couldn't go all out and had to restrain himself
Maybe he was just hungry. Old men are dangerous when they are hungry, then they need a steak quickly. Or at least an ear.
So, would Mike have won the fight if Teddy Atlas was still his trainer?
He bit them cuz he was fighting his ego knowing he can’t know Jake out but wanting to
Anyone know the song that plays at the end of this clip?
Loser by Beck.
I’ve never seen it, literally never seen it in his fights.
Mike Tyson never bites his gloves. Cut it out, Teddy.
Biting down to keep them dentures in 😂😂
After that first round tyson realized that paul was Nowhere near the caliber boxer that tyson used to fight constantly.
I actually have never seen Mike do that before tbh.
Mike never bit his gloves, PERIOD! Go watch all of his fights. Never happened. Up is down and down is up.
PLANE !
More people in the know need to be vocal about everyone getting scared.
Mike was biting his gloves because he wanted to go full throttle but was holding back clearly jake said something after first round in clinch was clearly a planned exhibition no ko clause and Tyson got a set amount for going to end
This is speculation only Tyson will know but looks like, he was not comfortable with the script
Tyson bit the thumb of gloves when he fought Kevin Mcbride in his very last fight.
Watch Tyson vs Mcbride
You can clearly see mike was pulling his punches.
No surprise to me. He looked petrified from the ring walk until the end.
Would that be illegal. I mean you can damage the glue and the damage can cause a cut to opponents face 😮
It would be interesting to see what Tyson could still do if he were fighting with actual malice and anger, with the benefit of adrenaline shooting through his system. Like a street fight instead of a boing match.
Mike did NOT have time to bite his gloves back in the days!!
Tyson has bitten his gloves, but because he keeps his hand up in the 'peek a boo' stance, its easy to miss by an untrained eye.
Tyson was NOT insecure about Jake Paul! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Yeah same thing! A fixation which helps suppress the anxiety durr
Were you responding to someone? No? Ok, excellent post then.
It liked to me he bit to holdback on his punch with Jake Paul, that’s my take on it
I would of much rathered Mike last match to be with Evander. It was winnable and with head gear would of made for a good scrap
We know Mike didn't do this in other fights. So what, did Jake's people pay off Teddy too so he'd repeat this BS? Seems like it. I'm with those who believe the biting was a signal in a fixed fight
What's the outro song?
Yeah I don’t think so…Mike has never done this in this way before
He was doing it against Roy Jones
Against Jake Paul Mike did more biting than fighting.
I thought it was because of him being frustrated✊🏿☀️🌟🛸🧬🔥💯
I think Mike was chomping at the bit ….but had to follow the script
This is the biggest crock of shit. He’s not biting his glove to look like a boogie man, he’s biting his glove because he struggles to control himself. It allows him to instantly release a violent urge without acting on the actual urge (killing someone). It was so prevalent in this fight more than others because of the extreme level of script coherence required. If he didn’t bite that glove, the other glove woulda knocked Jake back into his mamas womb.
Quarden Token and amazon signed a partnership. It will blow up once it hits mainstream.
I believe Quarden Token will go 100x after launch on Binance
The fight was rigged this was him reminding himself not to knock Jake out. Early in the fight he rang Jake's bell and then Jake grapples with him and reminds him about the payday for lasting 8 rounds. Mike still had it in him just look at his recent training videos. Why didn't we see that Mike that was tearing it up in training?
The whole thing was a complete embarressment
Agreed Teddy
My theory is that he bit his glove to rest his arm, to recharge that left hook
Strong theory. Is that based on anything other than Reddit and feeling like you know things? How long were you a pro boxer? Pro boxing coach? Never? Oh. Why have an opinion strong enough to post for the whole planet to see for eternity?
@eriklarson9137 1. I'm not a reddit sheep and 2. what's wrong with you this is the youtube comment section
Better biting his glove than your ear .
3 hours later we’ll get there
My conspiracy theory
Something in the contract said Mike couldn’t touch or do anything crazy to Paul in the build up and press conferences (i.e Floyd v Conor) but once Mike slapped him at the weigh-in a back room deal was cut to keep the money 1. You show your cheeks live on camera before the fight 2. You stand there like an idiot biting your glove, embarrassing Mike for the slap
