As someone who basically grew up on Castlevania (38 years old), I honestly loved the LoS saga. I agree/admit that they weren’t the best and that there were/are flaws here and there, but I still don’t care what anyone, let alone critics say. The whole story and atmosphere had me hooked and the realization that Gabriel becomes Dracula at the end of LoS 1 just blew my mind. Plus, the music for all 3 games was nothing short of incredible. I really wish they released the soundtracks... Anyway, not since Symphony of the Night have I had such fun playing Castlevania games.
THe series is not bad, the Gaming Publisher cut corners when they could have made the game proper. that's why there is down side because Gaming industry half bakes games instead of properly fleshout games
I love how Laura can't convince him to drink the last of her blood to save himself, so turns to his compassionate side and pleased for him to release her
netflix should make a series of this. Even he is a vampire, Gabriel is still loved by God according to the game's lore thats whey he is unaffected by holy items such as the cross.
It's fascinating about how gabriel became dracul at the end of the game. It took me nearly a month and a half to kill the forgotten one. Every time when it came to the 3 sticks I would miss every time, took me nearly 40 to 60 tries to finally get hit him with all 3 sticks, but after that it did not take much longer to FINALLY kill the forgotten one!! The forgotten one is one of the toughest boss battles I have ever went through, he made Satan look like child's play when I fought him! But poor gabriel, if I was a friend of Gabriel's I would have went to the castle with him, though would have stayed outside though til he came out. I don't care if he is a vampire I would be friends with him, he does not need to be alone in all this!!

His own son Trevor went to kill him too and neither he nor Gabriel knew they were father and son until Trevor was about to die. Gabriel frantically gave Trevor his blood to save him from death, but the consequence of that is he would turn into a vampire too (Alucard), and since Trevor "died" and never went back to his family, Simon grew up hating Dracula for "killing" his father and that entire series of events started the whole Belmont family being vampire hunters.
Why didn't they even continue this game? To me it was epic the 1st one he was a badass but the 2nd doesn't really tell you if you've recovered all his strength and power.
i feel that in the 2nd game gabriel/dracula regained some of his lost humanity while journeying to recover his lost powers through trevor/marie. i hated the ending of the game, satan was a pansy for hiding in alucard and making gabriel fight against his own son again. would have loved seeing what happened to them after they saved the world from satan/ zobek again. besides having a father and son relationship.
How did he just one strike a cosmic interdimensional being that the 3 lords of shadow had no chance of beating? I am confused on where that god like power just appeared from? And how did he teleport?
Basically the Forgotten one was getting powered up from some kind of magical artifact. On the last (and most powerful) wave Gabriel jumped in front of the energy and took the power all to himself. Giving him enough power to kill the forgotten one.
I'll explain from the beginning, as Gabriel was mortal he could not survive in the other dimension so Laura told him that he has to become a vampire, he bit Laura and went to the dimension as a vampire, killing her in the process (though he never wanted that). As he proceeds to confront The forgotten one he notices that he was again and again transferring most of his power to break the seals and with full power he could easily one shot Gabriel so he hid when the forgotten one was at full power and tried to fight when the power was busy. When the 3rd(last) seal was broken the forgotten one called his power to himself and Gabriel having realised he can't beat him jumped to take the power and merged with it. As he was already a vampire now he became Dracula (the forgotten one's power + vampire powers). I am sorry for such a long comment 😅 I just loved the plot. You should play the DLC man the forgotten one is no doubt one of the toughest bosses in history even with most of his powers elsewhere he was very very difficult to survive.
When u fight forgotten one u can only do dps to him after he opens the seals. Before he does that he is straight up invincible. When last seal was broken and his power started to come back to him gabriel had a choice. Let him go and burn the world or become the very thing that he sought to destroy.
If you consider gabriel had his human strength and powers alongside laura's vampire powers and he got a huge chunk of the forgotten one's powers it is easy to see how a weakened forgotten one who at that point was weaker than vampire gabriel and was injured was one shotted. The forgotten used so much of his powers to break the seal that he fell on his knees from the strain. And he was still a match for vamp gabriel imagine how strong gabriel became when he added the forgotten one's powers to his own.
Soooo wait none of the lords of shadows told Gabriel: hey man don't kill us because we're all that stands between it and the world dieing, this is a bad idea. At least the art is amazing.
Lords of Shadows is truly what the Nolan Batman is to DC but in the castlevania series
They did a new age take on Dracula being some kind of a hero rather than an outright villain.
Very tragic. He saved the world from satan. And the only way to stop a new threat perhaps just as dangerous was to become a monster.
And in the end he became the villain.

There was a time when people said "must" such a simple word but so powerful and underutilized now due to freedoms of choice and responsibilities.
I really like Gabriel’s transformation into Dracula.
The fact that his origins as Dracula is locked behind a paid DLC was a scummy move by konami.
