Too bad it's wasted on a terrible narrative. Seriously why on God's grey earth would they make it the modern day. It feels off for both a casltevania game, a lords of shadow sequel, a Dracula game, and a vampire game in general. Lords of shadow 2 has a way cooler protagonist (even tho it's the same guy) but lords of shadow 1 Is just so much better in almost every way. Like Jesus christ on an upside down cross, how the hell did they manage to butcher the sequel so badly.
I played this game at the time it released, and I never knew it was Patrick Stewart who voiced Zobek. Now, after having watched a buttload of American Dad, I recognized it immediately.
Always thought this was a great fight. The game as a whole was pretty uneven but Zobek becoming a great-looking Death with a cool boss fight was definitely one of the highlights.

Yeah I really like when grim reapers have drip. The classic grim reaper would be scary aF if you saw him in your room but making him look cool is the way to go for these games.
The fact that he mentions the Crissaegrim, one of the most broken weapons in SotN, and even says he found it in the castle the first time they fought, gave me some great nostalgic vibes. I haven't played this game, but if the whole game does these little nods, I may just have to.
This game was unfairly criticized imo. It was one of my favorite PS3 games. I was so engaged that I stayed up all night to beat it when it first came out. When I saw it it getting 5s and lower I knew the system was rigged. A lot of reviewers were Castlevania fans with a bias for the older games.

This game where Trevor and alucard are the same person, and castlevania 3 where you can swap characters with alucard and Trevor. The old nes instruction manual actually said that they transformed into one another
One of the most underrated games of all time. Yeah the ending kinda sucked and it made no sense you couldn't eventually kill those armored guys but still it was worth every penny and time spent.
God I remember this boss fight everytime I got towards the end and had too fase through the forse field the game froze. I had to contact Xbox support lol but got there in the end. Such a good game both this 1 and the 1st one I wish they would release a remake or a sequel.
Just seing the title of the video in my timeline made me re-download the game and play it until this scene, which i never saw as i dropped the game just before it .. spend an awesome night trying to finish it - the whole game is far from perfect, but it has some of the most epic combat i ever played, and the music is insane !
Loved the game. Very nice cutscenes and great voice acting. What else with Patrick Stewart on board? Nice boss battles too. A balanced game too, offering a challenge but without killing you every couple of minutes. Thought Satan was the easiest boss to beat, especially since by that stage you have many, if not all upgrades. Beat him in the first go.
These guys were dante and vergil for me back then. Playing los 1 and then 2.... 1 was a masterpiece and 2 was a technological marvel great graphics, great gameplay but some stupid stealth sections. Overall it was great but critics killed it.
Got this in my recommended after Castlevania Season 4, i never got to get into the series outside of just reading lore I would truly love for these games to resurface or news ones be made but i know its not possible. A Castlevania DMC 5 graphics gameplay with bloodborne atmosphere and world structure would be a beautiful creation. Nice video if you have a full playthrough ill be sure to give it a watch!
The gameplay in this game frustrated me so much lol. Gabriel was hyped up to be so absurdly strong but I never truly felt like that. Yes he spent a good deal of the game weakened but even when he regained his strength he never felt strong gameplay-wise. The cinematic trailer implied we'd whip through hordes of enemies at a time and yet random demons and cannon fodder can smack him around lol. I know it sounds boring but I wouldn't mind a game where you're overpowered relative to your enemies.
Would have been amazing throwing in some Dynasty warrior mechanics for some of the larger battles. Massive armies of peons just being laid waste too like in the cinematic.
