After putting it back together, The screen lit up for a short time with everything function but showing 0% battery and not charging. It then turned off and is not charging since. I hope you can point me to were to look.
can someone tell me if i can work with my macbook pro without the touch bar connected into the motherboard? the guys were i bought my replacement Touch Bar sent me the wrong one and i just realized when i was putting the new one in place, now i have a completely disassembled macbook and will take days until i receive the correct one :(
Hey mate! Thanks for the video. I am facing issue with the touchbar and probably the flex connector for the touchbar got loose. Could you please point out where is that located?
0:10 Bro, we're replacing the whole top case to fix the touchbar. If only there was a flex cable loose, we'd be fixing that. Its a common thing with touchbar - it goes fubar - and you have to replace it... with the entire top case.

How do i remove the keyboard flex cable?
I though this video is for replacing just the touch bar specifically, but it's NOT. A more accurate title for this video should be replacing "top case (assembly)".
Well, it is the only thing that needed fixing and that was the only way to do it, due to parts availability. No touch-bars for sale separately :)
But if you find one for sale, this video covers 95% of the motions you'd need to do.

the pentalobe screw driver i bought to take out those tiny wifi screws stripped out on the first screw. I cant believe they put this type of screw for just the wifi and so many. I guess i am shit outta luck because you cant buy the screw driver locally and the ones online are cheap
Yeah, you'll have to drill the stripped screw out. It's not hard, but you may have to do it to more than 1 screw. But look on the bright side: there are 12 screws, and you really only need 4 at most :)

Good good. I've noticed it as a recent thing. In this video I didn't have to drill any screws out, older laptop. But I did the same computer (newer production) a few weeks ago, had to drill 3 screws on the Wi-Fi antenna. Did an iPhone SE 2nd Gen video - one of the screws was stripped from the factory, had to pry open the connector shield to disconnect cables. It seems Apple has started using a much softer metal in its screws.
@@Laptopscreen I dont even know how they manufacturer these screws! They are so small they look like specs of dust. Its like Apple doesn't want us to repair their products but we always find a way.
@@doubledragon2074 i bought a cheep screw driver set on ebay, yea the cheap ones strip them easily because i think the 0.8mm screwdriver they provided are for iphones. I sanded the tip of the screwdriver 20 times and ever since i have never stripped a 0.8mm macbook screw again with that screw driver even if you strip it, it will come out easily

You may have just missed it, try watching the video again, slowly. Especially the intro.
touchbar replacement guild is all topcase replacement? Are u fkin kidding?
No. That's why the sarcastic tone in the video. You can't get stand-alone touch-bars for replacement. You have to get used top-cases to get your hands on a touch-bar, because it is ultra-hard to remove the touch-bar from the top-case without destroying it.
