Thanks for this video, for showing the zipper foot and how to change the needle position. I am new to this machine. Most of the zippers that I install are for pillow covers, and I stitch the ends of the fabric together and baste the opening shut before I install the zipper, which you did not show, but the main info I needed was needle position. My other machine is a Viking Husqvarna, and it is completely manual instead of computerized, and so I am just getting used to sewing with a computerized machine. I've had the Husqvarna for 30 years and love it, but it is at my other house, and so I had to buy a second machine. The Husqvarna is better at sewing thick and bulky fabrics, but I do like the new Brother serger that I bought, and I keep that with the Husqvarna and keep my old serger with the new Brother machine.
It's much easier to get info from your videos than it is from the 6000i manual, and so I do appreciate this.
I had this machine, and like lots of other customers, got one that was rusted inside. It locked up on me while I was making my wedding dress and I had to toss it. I had it for a few years so it couldn’t be returned. I live in a very dry climate so it wasn’t rusted from the environment in my house. Bummer, I would love to have used it for stuff. I ended up getting a heavy duty Brother that works amazing instead.

I noticed the settings say 00 on your machine but on mine the needle hits the zipper foot on 00. I moved mine to 37 for the foot attached on the right, to keep the needle from colliding with the foot. What am I doing wrong?
I have a question if you’re sewing a bag that needs a zipper would you back stitch at the start and end of the zipper
