Guys. I just sewed in a zipper. For the first time!!!!! And it’s functional! Hahaha it’s the little things in life I guess 🎉
❤️Thanks for this sharing👍👍👍👍
Congratulations, I totally understand your joy 😭✨
Thats empowerment! Soon as I get the time for buttons and zippers, I WILL BE UNSTOPABLE
@vidamate09 I love that when this comment I made gets a reply, I get to see just how far I've come in my sewing journey ❤️ good luck with those buttons and zippers! Fiddly things to do but once you got them you've got them for life! 😁😁😁😁
Me too all along I was using the regular foot. It's easier and fast to use the zipper foot. 😍
I LOVE how you demonstrated the distances of the seam away from the zipper teeth! Thank you for that
I have very rudimentary sewing skills. I appreciated the visual perspectives in your video along with your explanations. I finally got the confidence to try the zipper foot- it worked! Thanks so much
Thank you so much! Im a beginner and you explained perfectly how to install a zipper!
Thank you so much! I've been sewing for years but never used a zipper foot. My mom taught me to sew and she always just used the regular foot. Tonight I decided to try the zipper foot and you talked (and showed) me right through it. It came out perfect! The zipper foot is so much better than the regular foot. And easier, too. Thanks again for everything you all do. It's extremely helpful. :D
Thank you
How about garter foot
I didn’t even realise my machine came with a zipper foot! Brother’s own “instructional video” was useless, so thank you so much for this!!
You're so welcome! I'm glad that this video helped you. The zipper foot is so versatile.
You achieved teaching me one of my self imposed fears of sewing... giggles!!!!! ...attaching the zipper foot and doing my first practice zipper installation.... OH MY GOSH cannot thank you enough. Will be checking out your site for products and lots of sewing fun!!
monikita777 Congratulations!!!! That is so exciting! So glad we could help!!!
Blimey. I'm with Tye on this one. I've been afraid to sew zips into anything and now I know how to do it. It's so easy. And I never knew you could use it for trims as well. Fab tutorial. Thank you
you sooo ROCK...i have been soo afraid to attempt making zippers!!! because of you, i have just sewn my very 1st zipper!!!! im soo proud i conquered my fear!! THANK YOU!!!!!!
So helpful, I almost destroy my machine, not knowing this.
sue-ellen joseph Oh no! LOL glad we were able to help keep your machine alive!

On the positive side, you are very clear and concise on the information you provide, so good job there.
Omg this just made life super ez! Thank you for the post! week 4 of learning to sew! 😘😘😘
After hours and hours of completely messing up and countless seam ripping and pleading with the sewing Gods I learned about a zipper foot! The 1 side of coat zipper took like 5 hours os swearing with the regular foot and the side with the zipper foot took 5 minutes 🤦♀️thank you!
I got the foot with my machine but didn't know how to use it.... this is gonna be fun
Zippers are a blast once you get the hang of them! Good luck!
I had no idea about clamping on right or left side! You truly helped me!
Thanks so much, this was extremely helpful and easy to understand!
Thank you! I do a lot of costume sewing, and this will make adding trim (and zippers) a whole lot easier.
TheJorgSacul My pleasure! Costuming is so much fun!
Thank you so much! I can't wait to go and try again...and you even have the same machine I do..yay!! Thanks again :)
Thanks! That's just what I needed!
No problem!

My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your help
Thanks, I had forgotten how to install the Z-Foot!
Superb video
First trial and it came out so nice. Thanks so much
Great job! Thank you for watching our video!
Okay, I'm going to have to be a little bit critical. Ideally on any corded trim coming out of a seam would be sewn to the fabric first and then topstitched (if needed). The same goes for any zipper.
when you spend 5 hours sewing and resewing a zipper, just to find that you`ve been using the wrong foot ...
Oh no 😢
I needed this. Thanks!
Awesome! Congrats!!!!!
:o ITS THE MAGIC SEWING LADY :DDDDDDDD
Thank you so much, this helped me understand it much better
Thanks so much for this! I was also wondering how to put in the zipper foot too! Hitting 2 birds with one stone with this video! ^.^
Hi, I have a brother ps-57 and when I attached my foot the needle wont line up with the foot. When it goes down the needle goes into the foot not the material. :( Do you or anyone know why?
Thank you so much.
This video does not explain that it is mandatory to select stich 3 and move the needle to 3.5. I broke my needle and damaged my zipper foot. Be careful!
Thank you that is awesome to know
That's because it isn't mandatory. Every machine is different and each project is different. My machine has center or offset needle positions that can be changed a millimeter at a time, so 3 means nothing to me as a needle position. Also, 3.5 stitch length is ideal for medium weight fabric like quilting cotton, but too short for thicker fabrics like denim or velvet. It's up to each sewist to have an understanding of their machine and to learn how stitch length changes depending on the material they're using.
i was watching this video to see witch stitch number to use for the zipper foot so my needle won't get damaged
@@sherryblack8403 it's not possible for a presenter to give you the exact number for your machine unless you have the exact same make and model, and even then there are going to be differences based on manufacturing, assembly and even your needle size. The best way to figure out the number you need to use on your machine is to not focus on the number and simply use your hand wheel to slowly lower the needle position and move the needle over as you go until you can pass the widest part of the needle (sometimes the eye, sometimes the shaft) through the fabric without it touching the foot. If there is even a small deflection the needle will snap at high speeds.
You should do this step every time you change to the zipper foot and every time you change your needle. I've been sewing for 20 years and I do this every time I switch feet, no matter what. When I don't is when things break.
The user is using a brother machine. At least for that machine I think you need too. Other then that the videos great!
tqsm for everything u taught !
Thank you for this 👍
Thank you sooo much😘
very helpful thank you!!
Fantastic. Thanks ❤️
Unlike the other feet, it does not attach in the CENTRE, you attach it to either the left or right foot.
Good job! Thanks!
Very helpful! Thank you!
You didn't show how to move the needle
Thank youuuu!!!!!!!!👍❣️🤙
Great video!
Thank you for watching!

Hi I’m new to sewing with zippers and today I was sewing over my coin purse and when I went over the zipper the needle bent. I’ve made 2 and it didn’t happen to those. Would a zipper foot help that. It’s a nylon zipper.
Thank
Thank you.
I tried my first zipper project last night and my machine jammed and I had to take it apart 2 times - could this be because the grip on the food was the wrong placement?
Oh. I had never though of using it for corded trims....
It works great for that application! :)
I still can't figure it out. I already have my bag made so that's probably the problem. I can't do the very beginning and ends
can you show us what was the setting #s for the stitch you used??
Thank you so much!
Thank you for watching!
Thank you!
I have a question my zipper foot is different from this one. I ordered the 12pc set from your web site. It's say it zipper foot. Do you have a video for that foot?
Thankyou very helpfull
Thank you for watching!
Thanks!
I have a Usha janome dream stitch automatic sewing machine which zipper foot will I have to buy too put zio
Awesome, thank you very much ^^**
Really helpful, but how do I string the thread around the foot like I do for the regular foot?(:
I usually just turn my handwheel so the bobbin catches the needle thread, then lift the foot, and the seam ripper to pull both threads out from under the foot and to the back of the machine. I hope that makes sense =)
Hi, what should be the settings for using Chording foot.? :)
You will want to use a straight stitch (make sure your needle drops into the hole of the presser foot). Depending on what your sewing, your stitch length will vary; however, for general sewing, do a 2.4 or 2.5. I hope this helps.
Does it work with the invisible zipper too ?
Would this help in getting a perfect 1/4 inch seam?
Nopers. You'd need a 1/4" Foot (with or without guide.)What's your make and model and I'd be happy to check for a compatible option for you?
I'm using a brother machine and when I've attached the zipper foot and then start sewing, it unthreads the upper thread, any ideas please??
There could be several reasons why you are breaking your upper thread. 1. The upper thread may not be between the tension discs. 2. The upper tension is set too tight. 3. Your spool of thread is not properly installed on the machine. I suggest checking these things and rethreading the machine. If that does not work, reach out to our customer service team. If you email them some pictures of the settings you are currently using and explain what is happening, they should be able to assist you. You can email them at info@sewingpartsonline.com. Lastly, your instruction manual should have some troubleshooting suggestions at the back of the manual. I hope this information helps.
Hi sewing machine lil is nest for oiling brothet LX27NT sewing machine?
I am very sorry - I am not understanding the question? If you have questions regarding oiling your machine, that information should be mentioned in your manual. If not, I suggest contacting the manufacturer as each machine is different.
Thank you hun, and what tension level would be good for the zippers?
Usually having your tension at 4 works well.
Awesome thank u ;-)
So it looks like the foot wiggles & is a bit crooked. Is that normal?
Though the video was helpful but I noticed the same thing! Definitely not normal imo.
The zipper foot is available for tons of machines. Feel free to message us if you have any questions!

@@SewingPartsOnline its butterfly black head machine. Thanks so much for your prompt response...
I am sorry, but we do not have any information on that machine to find a foot that is guaranteed to fit that machine. Please accept our apologies.
OK thanks a lot. I already found a tutorial on that. God bless you.
What's a "shank"? Is this universal with all or most sewing machines? I have an Elna gallery series.
