Thawne erasing Barry from DCAU is an awesome theory and my new Fancanon. This makes sense as since Kid Flash's costume is in the Flash Museum, and so is Jay Garrick's hat, as well as Thawne's logo and Barry's suit in earlier episodes with it confirmed being Wally now. It makes perfect sense that now Wally is the only Flash in DCAU now, and is also the only one mourning them by putting the alternative Flash suits. Because no one remembers Jay or Barry, and That's why Barry's Eobard shows up when fighting Wally, he only remembers small bits like the costume when remembering the small bits that weren't erased. It also makes sense why Wally is a jokester and more of an overgrown child most-times throughout the show. He put his trauma behind him with his jokes. Kinda like Spidey does sometimes. Thawne doesn't see this child as a "real" Flash, and so he doesn't bother erasing him like Jay and Barry. Or maybe Wally was hidden from Thawne. I thank you for this, and I've accepted it as one of my head cannons from this universe.
I'd had a similar idea, except that Wally and Eobard did a SPEED FORCE FUSION that removed Barry from the timeline--a DCAU FLASHPOINT PARADOX resolution that effectively removed Eobard's temporal immortality: not by removing his connection to Barry, but by Wally and Eobard becoming the *same person*. The reason Wally remembers his "uncle" (but never mentions Barry's name) is b/c the Flash in the DCAU is an amalgam of Wally (taking on his and Barry's origin story) and Eobard. This also explains Flash's jerkass attitude in STAS and silliness in the earlier parts of JL.

The Reverse Flash held Nora Allen by the throat, about to kill her. In the act of desperation, Flash attempted to stop Reverse Flash, but It was too late…Nora was killed. Barry was also killed In the process. Erasing Barry…and erasing the Reverse Flash out because of the fact, he got his powers If It weren’t for Barry and the Reverse Flash’s alter ego, Eobard Thawne continued his normal life in the future….And…things went out to play by God. Marvel had a character named "The Grim Reaper" with a skull motif, a cape, and a scythe for a hand in 1968, before Barr created his character. I'm willing to bet that if someone asked Barr if he ripped off the Marvel character, he'd say no, he created his character independently and the similarities come from both being based on the same the Grim Reaper myth. I do believe that artists and writers should get credit and payment for their work, but this is stretching it. There are tons of differences between Barr's character and the Phantasm, including the secret identity being as different as can be. The similarities are things that tie back to a common source, the legend of the Grim Reaper. So even if the Phantasm were inspired by his work, it has so many differences that it's still a unique character. Barr's idea that they need to credit someone else who previously used the name "Phantasm" for a completely different character is really pushing it. "little zod" is likely zod's son. Zod is the family name, Zod's full name is Dru-Zod. In the comics zod often has children such as val-zod, the superman of the new 52 earth 2 and Lor-Zod of prime earth and new earth (where he went by nightwing)

Did you know that one of the co-creators of Superman was Canadian and not only was Metropolis based on Toronto (I think), the Daily Planet was originally called the Daily Star, inspired by the Toronto Daily Star. The newspaper in real life is just the Toronto Star now. You said Canadian so I had to.

With DCAU now no longer being censored by network, maybe someday will see a dcau Victor Zsasz, and hope someday will get a dcau flash move to explore more of the flash lore.
Something that confused me was Barbara's husband, Sam Young. Because in the comics there's a character named Sam Young, who is the second Anarky, appearing after Batman Beyond was over in the New 52? But they don't seem to have any connection? Was it an accident giving him the same name as another character?
Zsasz and Question are blood-related going back to their ancestors immigrating in the late 1800s. Due to Ellis Island clerical error, one of their names was misspelled
In Superman : The Animated Series (I think this was briefly mentioned) there was an episode with Barry's version of the Flash. whilst it was never mentioned again, Barry Flash was still in the DCAU.
That’s Wally, actually. Already done a video about that, but will also be doing a much more expansive video very soon on whether or not Barry Allen existed in the DCAU!
The Grim Reaper is part of mythology. Barr doesn't have a case just because he made one; I get it's part of DC and Gotham, but it's about as likely as Marvel suing DC for the phantasm due to their Grim Reaper (avengers). Different colors, based off mythological figure, different story, plus Barr's reaper is super obscure.
@@Etticos. In fact why don't we see more of those extreme 90's villains and lesser known villains team up as an Extreme Injustice League. They could have Monarch as their Superman. Anakin and Obi-wan adventure of the nest of gundarks was explored in the novel Star Wars Jedi Quest: The molment of truth. That novel might be expanded universe material, but it's cannon damn it!
My theory on why barry allen does not exist in the DCAU, the origins of reverse flash is that he was a super-fan of the flash and wanted to be him, he was shunned by those around him because most of the world thought the speed force didn't exist, those eobard thawne/reverse flash didn't like were erased from existance by his future self, after gaining the powers of the flash, he wanted to be ahero and some stuff happened and realized he wanted to kill him, but by doing that he wouldn't exist, so WHAT IF HE MANIPULATED THE LIGHTNING BOLT TO HIT WALLY INSTEAD
Concerning Chemo, he wasn't created by a mad scientist. He was the result of the careless actions of Professor Horton. As a way to remind himself of his failures, Horton put them in a giant man-shaped plastic bottle that he named "Chemo." He had just created a formula that caused increased plant growth. Although the formula did that, in a few seconds an orange grew to the size of a basketball, it wouldn't stop growing until it exploded. Horton poured the failed formula into "Chemo" and it reacted with the other chemicals in the container to gain a form of pseudo life. Chemo's first action was to spray Horton with the failed growth formula, causing Horton to grow to giant size and it eventually killed him. In the past, Chemo had very limited intelligence. However, in the recent "Metal Men" miniseries that changed. Now Chemo it fully intelligent and his actions are now intentionally evil.

This is a very minor quibble but I wouldn't say that Victor Zsasz has no motivation - he has delusions that make him see people as "zombies" and he feels compelled to kill them as a method of "freeing" them from their zombified state. It's just that he often gets simplified into a generic crazy killer because most writers only want him to be a minor threat that can be easily disposed of without much thought being put into it.
It’s crazy how much Hitman looks like Jon Bernthal… lol it’s like someone went to the future, saw him play the Punisher, and then designed a character after him… Jon.. not the Punisher… lmao
13:09 That is now my headcanon. I think it makes sense that maybe events played out similarly to CW Thawne, where after he killed Barry’s mom he lost his powers cause there was no more Flash, only DCAU Thawne actually succeeded in killing young Barry instead of going for the next best thing. So now without Barry to be the Flash he had to orchestrate events so Wally could be the Flash instead so there’d be one to motivate past Thawne into giving himself powers.

No I did not know that, but thank you for the information, have good day or night:)
The all American protector of the all Canadian city, if only the Canadians accepted their discount Americaness and joined up, the invitation is still open
10:26 Oh no, my least favorite supervillain... “THE RIVER’S FLASH!”
I'm legally obligated to tell you how smart I am ;)
With DCAU now no longer being censored by network, maybe someday will see a dcau Victor Zsasz, and hope someday will get a dcau flash move to explore more of the flash lore.
I hope we see Nocturna too
@@chrisanderson2204 Same here. This is a good opportunity.
Something that confused me was Barbara's husband, Sam Young. Because in the comics there's a character named Sam Young, who is the second Anarky, appearing after Batman Beyond was over in the New 52? But they don't seem to have any connection? Was it an accident giving him the same name as another character?
That’s a good question, I’m not sure!
So James those character models of Tim Levin's designed for the video are we going to be able to find them on any platform like deviantART Twitter etc
All but the Reaper one are already on his DeviantArt, though I would guess that he will post the Reaper one soon now that the video is out.
Maybe the question is victor saz incognito
14:02 MY GOD what a phenomenal episode
The Reaper (Jack Ryder?)
no. what?
No, you’re thinking of the creeper
21:52 damn I really wish they had used Zod! His design looks fantastic
That set up looks a lot better and I only know Victor's zaz because of the Arkham games
I gave the video a like just because you guys announced your ad break instead of just putting it in the middle of a sentence and cutting off the flow
Well now we need a comic with reverse flash changing the DCAU timeline
When you say the Hitman, I was thinking of Bret 'The Hitman' Hart.
I don’t know why I love that wallpaper that you’re using as the background
It’s pretty cool!
Zsasz and Question are blood-related going back to their ancestors immigrating in the late 1800s. Due to Ellis Island clerical error, one of their names was misspelled
Imagine that
15:11 "I diagnose you with mild telekinetic powers, I prescribe advil for the next 4 weeks"
I can't wait for Zod to appear in 2022 during Bruce Timm's next DCAU film.
"IT WAS ME, BARRY-Oh, you're, Wally. I... Uh... Well, i'll call Hunter, then, i guess."
I gotta say that background is super dope and makes me want to set one up just to show off and flex on folks
Many more malicious madman mentions.
That's the best I got
Fascinating stuff. Thanks for the detailed analysis and great visuals! Keep it up guys. God bless you
In Superman : The Animated Series (I think this was briefly mentioned) there was an episode with Barry's version of the Flash. whilst it was never mentioned again, Barry Flash was still in the DCAU.
That’s Wally, actually. Already done a video about that, but will also be doing a much more expansive video very soon on whether or not Barry Allen existed in the DCAU!
I do follow Tim Levins. He does an astronomical job emulating Bruce Timms style.
Zsaz didn't murder people with a canon. He used a hunting knife. Waka-waka!
Man james new background look amazing!!!
I had only ever seen the image of, and heard the name of Mister X. it was cool to learn a bit more of him here.
1:47 you forgot to mention the most legendary Batman villains in the dcau...mr wing and straight man
Well the Reaper was actually revamped as Phantasm so there we are.
Not quite, but ok
Nah, the reaper was replaced by the grim reaper. images.app.goo.gl/iDeiEb57nc5deK7X9
I want to see the villain Monarch.
THE MIGHTYY MONNNARCH!
or
THE BLUEEE MORRRRPHO
@@Etticos. In fact why don't we see more of those extreme 90's villains and lesser known villains team up as an Extreme Injustice League.
They could have Monarch as their Superman. Savitar as their Flash. Armageddon or Artemis as the Wonder Woman. Black Hand for Green Lantern. And a few others to round things out. Just think what would happen when that group teams up.
@@nicholase82 I totally agree with you, but I was just making a Venture Bros reference.
@@nicholase82 well I did thought of one where the Justice league are monsters from a different universe
Anakin and Obi-wan adventure of the nest of gundarks was explored in the novel Star Wars Jedi Quest: The molment of truth. That novel might be expanded universe material, but it's cannon damn it!
I just realized that Victor Sage= Vic Sage= Visage. Got it,coz he got no face
Um, how does Reaper go to the bathroom? How does he eat or do anything in life that requires his hands?
the joke is only funny if he leaves the scythes on his hands 24 hours a day.
Reverse Flash also had an action figure produced by Mattel on the JLU toy line.
16:38 Holy shit this joke is still going
Me: How many more Zeta jokes are you people are going to do?
James: Yes!!!
7:38 so nostalgic man 😭
Concerning Chemo, he wasn't created by a mad scientist. He was the result of the careless actions of Professor Horton. As a way to remind himself of his failures, Horton put them in a giant man-shaped plastic bottle that he named "Chemo."
He had just created a formula that caused increased plant growth.
5:28 Senpai noticed me!
Ne'er-seen Ne'er-do-wells
I wish we got that Nocturna episode that would've been entitled "The Count and the Countess" where Nocturna seduces Batman and turns him into a vampire.I heard when wb had less strict censors, the idea was pitched but nothing came of it
Check out our “Lost Episodes of BTAS” couple o’ videos!
Maybe they should call Vampire Batman the Bat-king where he lives in an alternative universe where the Justice league are monsters
You made me hear the words "Luck glands", and I am very unhappy about that.
I thought Question's name was Vic Sage, it was in the comics right? I need to do some research.
"Vice Sage" is short for "Charles Victor Szasz," it's weird.
@@dcauwatchtower yeah because you think they were related
@@dcauwatchtower Because the Question/Vic Sage in main DC continuity (at some point) was an anchorman, Szasz becoming Sage was probably just an anglicization for his in-universe job
I wonder if the Reaper trained Andrea Belmont following her father's murder by Joker, as a successor.
We’ve got a theory connecting her and Azrael, check out our coverage of “Batman: The Adventures Continue”!
It is sad that we never got a flash animated series 😭
/
15:52 The old Shazam Family cartoon (Kids Super Power Hour w/ Shazam!) had Black Adam in it. Late 70s or early 80s, I loved that version of The Marvel Family. Levram Niatpac for Marvel Jr.
The anticipated sequel from a very old video
At 7:41 the interlude with the Justice league audio tripped me out. I was watching on my phone and the sound perfectly sounded like it was in my ears like headphones but I wasn’t wearing any headphones. Made me think I was going crazy until I showed my sister. 😳😳
0:06 Wait! they never did a video on the Zeta Project?.... unsubscribed! I jk, but seriously get on that, please!
Slick ad fade, actually watched them all the way through to show my appreciation for the callback
Zsasz did have a reason, he saw a guy trying to rob him and saw how empty and incomplete they were (or something like that)
Wait? That's the Egg Baby sound effect? I never realised that!
Bruce timm has to make another series ! He’s just teasing us at this point
Is Red Death from "The Venture Bros" based on The Reaper? That red armor and black cape design is almost the same.
I would guess that’s much more likely a Red Skull knockoff.
18:44 bro why are Darkseid's little minions all so goofy. It's so hard to take him seriously with his absurd entourage
God I am so smart
How did you guys forget that Adventures in the DC Universe issue with Black Adam and the whole Marvel Family?
Didn't forget, just didn't include "Adventures in the DC Universe" since it's separated enough from the DCAU continuity. Then again, I DID include the Capstone books, other tie-in comics, etc. so I dunno man. I done messed up, okay?!
Unfortunately I have some bad news...
you have “Luck gland disease”.
Nice to know such cool villains are around, though i hatw being reminded of Bashari man i hated that twist poor Hawkman.
Just from the intro I could tell this was gonna be a good video and in my opinion this is one of the best vids of this year. Nice job Databoys!
