I tried Amazon flex and it was horrible compared to food delivery apps. They give you like 40 different packages and you need to load and scan them in your car. When you reach a stop its usually a maze like apartment with no parking. You need to press all kinds of codes to get in and walk around the apartment complex looking for the apt #. The packages aren't organized you just have to dig through the 40 packages they give you. When theres no parking you need to park far away back and forth just to drop off 1 package. My shift was 5-8 but I didn't finish till 11pm because of all the walking. I've never worked so hard for $80. Was a horrible experience I'm pretty traumatized by it. 😖😖😖
Totally understand I do amazon flex and what you said is true. I think with apartment deliveries with access codes they should give you extra time but they tend to expect you to be in and out like the other deliveries. Also if you feel unsafe u have to deliver it all the way back to the station in your own time. Not good. If they give me deliveries outside of my selected preferences I tell them to take it off. And still get paid if they don't assign you another one. But logistics you cant see the addresses untill after you scan the box and you look directly on the parcels for the address. Pretty sneaky. If you can find a way to play them at their own game it's not too bad unfortunately most people get taken advantage of and just go amon with everything they say and do even if it's completely unreasonable.
Have you looked into doing the delivery outside of the business hours? I imagine it would be between the amz warehouse and the customers rather than grocery.
I would honestly do the package delivery vs the Whole Foods delivery considering your tips are never guaranteed. I do the package delivery and I make good money on it but of course it won’t replace a full income but it works out for a part time person
Question: Let’s say there are 4 offers Times are 4-7:30pm You chose 1 of the 4 offers Let’s say you’ve completed your block / shift and you go back to see what offers are there and notice there’s 3 of the 4 offers that are open from 4-7:30pm of that same day. Are you allowed to accept any of the 3 remaining blocks even though it’s 8pm and the time shows 4-7:30pm?
Hey there, I’ve been driving for flex for 6 months in Colorado. It would be a very rare case that those blocks would still be available but, if they were, and it’s 8 pm and the blocks were between 4:30-7 pm then no, you couldn’t be able to take them because, at 8 pm, you’re now after the scheduled block time. Sometimes old blocks show but with a refresh of the page, they disappear. I hope this helped and I understood your question. Please let me know if it didn’t !
@@darawsonnick4449 it’s honesty something I may have to try when I live closer to the city. I crunched numbers and i would prb break even. It would be cool if they had couriers by foot for places like Chicago and NYC. Thanks for following up!
Interesting concept we don't have that here. We have Amazon only not that way.. it's not big in my country. So you made 49 dollar how much money did you spend on Gas ?
My last whole foods block was $44.. after tips made close to $100. I drive a prius for work. Usually do 4 blocks in a day and only spend 12 dollars in fuel. I make about 240-300 day delivering for Flex
I live in Seattle (Shoreline) and I do doordash and will be doing flex here soon. I've been watching videos to see what it's like doing flex. I guess it depends on where you live to how bad or good it is?
3-4 hours is your shift yes, you’re given packages. you can finish before the time but if you still have a lot of time left i’m pretty sure it’ll make you pick up more (not 100% sure)
Yes. Some people even said you can get paid for a shift and there are no deliverers or sometimes maybe just one package. If you accept and show up you get paid. But that is rare. If you finish early it just means you got paid more per hour. Then check the app for another block to work or be done for the day.
If all packages are delivered before the 3-4 hour time frame you are given. You get paid the full amount that was specified and can head home or pick up another block if you choose. They cannot make you go back to the warehouse after finishing your delivery before the 3 hour mark.
Yes, I sometimes bring one or two of our kids. They just need to have something to keep occupied with, especially if you get an intense route. Also, the kids will not be permitted inside or on the grounds of the station. They must stay in the car while you’re getting your route and loading up packages.
Unless you do straight packages and not food. Regular packages are typically no tip but they pay 18 an hour.. but many are making more because they get done early once they learn the ropes. And sometimes there are bonus promotions. Or sometimes there may be few packages or even none and you get paid the same but that is rare. Trick is to figure out the best blocks to accept.

I also live very close to the Amazon pick up stations and that makes a big difference, especially if any packages are undeliverable which happens.
