Some good-looking slips there, Pops! This is a great video because it is all about what makes YOU happy. Back in the day, I made my own custom DVD cases all the time and I've even made some custom blu ray cases as well. I have yet to make slipcovers though, so naturally, this is right up my alley! Totally rad!!
Slipcovers are always a plus, they dress up our favorite movies, especially showing off original movie posters and photos. The only distributors that I feel already look great without slipcovers (although they sometimes include slipcovers) are Arrow Video, Eureka! And Indicator.
Great video! I am pro slipcover of course so I really appreciate you sharing your slipcover guy! It is always nice when collectors can help eachother out when it comes to finding or having the coolest things!! You are awesome Pops!! Keep it up and maybe consider doing more videos about the new slipcovers you get! Love seeing them!
Thank you Mel for the kind words. I knew you would be on my side with the whole slipcover thing :). I will post an update down the road when I get some more custom slips done.
I started this video without even knowing what a slipcover was. I didn't know there was a market for custom ones either. This is cool knowledge to have 👍🏻
I’m definitely in line with your vision for your collection. I say, if you love the look of them on your shelf then they are worth every cent. Plus, the quality is top notch and only add a sense of completion :)
@@PopsMovieDungeon I got the Batman v. Superman 4k Remastered(a shame it didn't come with a slip in the USA) Justice League Season one and Justice League Unlimited 😁 The great thing about slipcovers at least for me is that it makes a standard edition look more "premium" and the quest to find that mint slipcover sure is "fun" 😅
They all look awesome, but my OCD would freak out over SPM having the "Blu Ray" Banner across the artwork 'lol', just me though. Just wanted to show you some of us collectors have our own OCD issues 'lol'.
Agree that Scream Factory started the Slipcover craze / genre itself, but Vinegar Syndrome literally used slipcovers as their "High" point and reason to buy that particular movie itself. I think we can all agree, if VS did not have their amazing slipcovers that company would have never had the success they had, and continue to have, were as SF has amazing movies, the slipcovers (especially earlier ones) are just an amazing bonus and reason to collect them.
I also went through a phase of collecting all the A24s with slipcovers. Enemy is the only pressed disc that didn't have one. There are seven MOD titles that didn't have slipcovers. And Menashe, which was an Amazon exclusive, is hard enough to find a disc of, let alone with the slipcover. That's the only slipcover I'm missing. As for the seven DVD-only releases, Ginger and Rosa and Never Goin' Back actually did come with slipcovers and I was able to track those down. Good luck in your search!
I have a lot in my collection, but I'd like to mention some rare Blu-ray Essentials Lenticular slipcovers, pretty rare line back from 2011ish, I have The Punisher, Memento, No Country for Old Men, Shoot em' Up, I have a couple others just can't recall off the top of my head, but I Don't have The Brother's Grimm, and I haven't bothered to get "The Golden Compass" it's not as sought after.
Those are really interesting. Some times I really want the slipcover. But if it's like Vinegar Syndrome, I will go with the cheaper option because I'm very poor. I'd really like to get them, but I don't have the money. I think it is pretty stupid, but I like 'em, too. If you're pretty stupid for it, I am pretty stupid as well.
Two of my Lino Lorbers don’t have slips. Would my shelf look cooler if they had slips absolutely, but not enough for me to spend money I could use to buy another movie. I also have shouts that are missing theirs and some Studio labels as well. It’s just a rabbit hole I don’t want to fall down. If you’re happy (must have, they’re okay, or toss-em) good for you. (If you’re toss em.. think twice someone wants them.)
I expected more of a tutorial on how to make these, but this was interesting nonetheless. The "Enemy" slip demonstrates my own personal slipcover philosophy: the case must have a different front from the slip. Too bad I don't use Instagram so I have to make my own slip for "The Ghost and the Darkness..."
I have all the shout select ones that have been released. I collect the Shout Select and Scream Factory. I don’t get the Shout Factory releases typically. Thank you for asking though :)

Watched ENEMY on showtime. 91 minute version… I have questions… there is a 105 minute version. What is the difference? Maybe the longer one will explain things that I’m missing

I love slips and will freak out over them, but just can't spend top dollar to make sure I get em. Nice video pops!

Well said, I agree.
Slip covers are pretty easy to make. All you need is a Photoshop program and a printer. As well as paper and scissors

Yeah I wish I knew how to make my own. I would do a tutorial video for sure if I did. Thx for checking out the video
Won't catch Pops slippin'... actually you will
Lol
I only purchase movies with slipcovers as a way to limit my quantities haha
Hello, where did you buy the slipcovers from?
Hey there, look up instagram.com/custom_slipcovers_collectors?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= on instragram. thx for checking out the video
are you missing any shout slips? i may have them

What's the price tag on your custom slipcover?
Hey there, as far as price you may want to reach out to him. He usually does not charge me since he is a friend. Thx for checking it out.
Have you ever spent over a $100 on one single slipcover?
Only once. The Dolls Scream Factory collectors slip. It was one of the last ones I needed. Not my proudest moment lol
