- What happened to Jet Set Radio? Why was it called Jet Grind Radio in the US? Why didn't we get Jet Set Radio Evolution? Where is the Jet Set Radio series? This is a history of Sega's masterpiece that was Jet Set Radio and Jet Set Radio Future and I ask these all important questions:
What was Jet Set Radio?
Where is Jet Set Radio?
What the hell happened to Jet Set Radio?
Could we ever see a new Jet Set Radio?

Check out what happened to Sunset Overdrive - the game inspired by Jet Set Radio: bit.ly/WHT_Sunset_Overdrive
I'm hoping that bomb rush cyberfunk does well. It might just convince sega to pick up the franchise again.
This aged exceedingly well!
Sega just announced they want to reboot the franchise 😂
Be careful what you wish for..
@@warbirb9774 nah bro we gotta manifest that's it's gonna be good even tho it's like a 90% chance it's gonna b full of microtransactions. BUT WE NEED HOPIUM
Wish granted
I literally couldn't get enough of this game. I only played levels with my favorite tunes and would play for hours
I still think this is the game which made best use of the cel-shading aesthetic. It was very much a product of it's time but I still love the soundtrack. It desperately needs a sequel IMO. JSRF was a soft reboot, admittedly quite a good one which dumbed down the graffiti mechanic.
I need to play the original somehow to see what you mean by dumb downed graffiti mechanics
@@GrizzlyBrwn9 if you still haven't played the original the way it worked was you had to do quick time events for big ones, and since you couldn't fight the police in that game, you were under a lot of pressure during those.
@@Robospy1 Ohhhhh, Okay. That seems like it would be stressful haha but still a cool mechanic for tagging something real big
If you want to play Jet Set Radio Future. There's a Fan Remake on Game Jolt called Jet Set Radio MP available for PC, and playable internet multi-player mode.
Although it's not a remake that is exactly close to the original, it's a good recreation made by Screenracer.
Have you heard of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk? It's a spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio & probably the closest there's been to an actual Jet Set Radio 3. It's supposed to release next year although they still don't have a set release month for it.
What's your favourite forgotten Sega franchise?
Definitely gunstar heroes
Skies of Arcadia
Theres a little game called "Kidchameleon" never got a sequel because no one ever beat it. Lol
(There are great fan remakes but I'm talking about a real sequal from Sega)
Jet Set Radio
Jet Set Radio is a good shout but it would have to be Outrun for me.
I at least want a good port of them both, mostly jsrf cause that was my childhood, I loved that game.
Yeah - me too - it would be epic!
Still have my original dreamcast copy of JSR! absolutely love this game.
Yeah! It’s incredible! I lost my Dreamcast when moving homes, but I think it may be time to go and buy a new one!
Whenever the cop character yelled Damnit, me and my brother always lost our shit laughing. Dunno why, it was just funny to us as kids.
If they could at least remake JSRF for the PC, I’d be happy for another 20 years.
From what I heard they're planning on making another one along with Crazy Taxi. Which is great news. I hope with this one they make the story longer and they give the characters a little more back story/personality.
This game was ahead of its time it never feels old
More proof Sega hates money.
BOIS! IT'S COMING BACK!
I hope we receive another one. I still play the original one on steam. I visualize yakuza graphics for an original remake. With all the original cast and elaborate story. In game trophies and purchases. Dlc. Game can open a new subculture.
It should be stated that SEGA's current "super game" product has Jet Set Radio as an IP for it and recent leaks have shown footage of a much more realistic looking Beat dancing in the middle of what looks to be shibuya.
The leak is a dual edge sword tho because ethe set set style just isn't there but it IS Beat and humming the baseline is playing.
What ever happened to TAB. He was not on the JSRF. They put a guy named CORN instead.
Hopefully Bomb Rush Cyberfunk makes Sega change their minds.
Swag considered bring back a jet set radio reboot I just hope it’s jet set radio future that would be awesome
Does anyone know the song that started playing at @12:26 ?

SONIKUZA: LIKE A HEDGEHOG
I got news…..
At least port the games to the newer consoles
Bomb rush cyberfunk
Why throw money at a 20 year old IP when you can pump out another mediocre Sonic title for a guaranteed return? This how most AAA companies view the gaming industry because their only objective is to increase profits each fiscal year
The copyright thing with Future must be bull shit if they did have to take out a majority of the liscenced tracks they still have enough original tracks to where they don't get stale.
So alot of developers have pitched a reboot to sega and they keep turning all of them down they must not like money
this video is wonderful, i am still really holding out a hope that jet set radio will get another game one day
I think it's time to make a update. 😁
