I remember taking a couple kittens from a feral cat and I wanted to keep them mostly contained in one room. Which inexperienced me thought wouldn't be too difficult. So I'm in the room playing with them, then I leave and close the door. Next thing I know, there's a kitten rubbing against my foot. Turns out, that little gap underneath doors is nothing for even an adult cat, let alone a kitten! Then I tried stuffing towels under the door. Those were easily pushed through and on an exploration trip the kittens went! Then I put a small tool box to barricade the exit. I'm watching a movie in the living room and I hear a cat start screaming! I went over and found the girl wedged in between the frame and the toolbox. Obviously, the toolbox went back into the garage because I realized it's too dangerous. Finally, I took the door completely off, cut a thin strip of wood, nailed it to the bottom of the door, put the door back, and that kept them in the room. Also, just to clarify, 90+% of my time was spent with the kittens. The only time I would really leave them alone was for short breaks from their constant meowing and climbing on me. Both things I loved but moderation is the secret to life.... 😜 I don't want anyone thinking I would lock them in a room and never be in there. The REAL fun part was when the food bowl was empty at night and they would get RIGHT next to my face and SCREAM until I woke up and refilled it. Because how dare I let the food bowl be empty!!!! Anyway, yes, absolute experts at escape!!!

Utterly ASTOUNDING! Long ago, I read the “Walrus on My Table” and thought animal chiropractic care would be sooooo important and helpful and you proved my point.
I am chuckling about Neos evasive tactics at the end. I do all the movements with my cat just so they are used to me handling every part of their body. That way it is easier for the vet and my cats for their appts. One of the main places cat carry tension is between their shoulder blades. The closer they are the more tension they have. When you massage the tension out it relaxes your cat a lot. I also do all these things with my dogs. My vet loves me for it. Love your videos!
That is awesome. I didn't know that cats carry tension between their shoulder blades. I have been massaging my cat's neck and shoulders and he LOVES it. Now when he jumps into my lap, he will tilt his chin up and to one side, to expose his neck for massaging the first side. When he has had enough on one side, he tilt his chin to the other side. 😻
I do range of motion exercises and massage for my dogs too! And like yours, my vet LOVES that I do it. Rarely have I ever had to bring my kids in for any type of injury because of these daily rituals.
ABSOLUTELY 📍Spot on📍 Am a huge admirer of this rare, Genuine human who goes by the name of Dr Doug Willen. This little man is just precious! Does he know he’s a cat? We have had many cats over the years and I have been made bloody so many times, just by taking them to the vet. I’ve had cat scratch fever twice. And they were very sweet little ones too. Neo is unique and gorgeous. Thanks for getting his kinks out.
She must feed him properly with real carnivore food. Melissa could tell us how. Two many cats get obese or Diabetes because industrial food have too much carb for these pretty carnivores.
I handled my three Abyssinians from kittenhood in every way. At the vet, they would stand by themselves on the examination table, and let the vet give them a shot without anyone holding them. They were incredibly trusting because I never gave them reasons to distrust. Also very sociable. So cats can be just like Neo if they are treated right and trust the humans around them. So glad you were able to help Neo. You’re what I call a real humanitarian. And Melissa, what a great job you did with him.
I was mesmerized the whole time. Neo is so handsome and wonderful to let you treat him. He clearly has had a loving and safe home. Thanks for explaining everything.

So, at least I will palpate my cat to see if there are any areas of tension or 'off' segments. I have an activator that I can use with him, if needed. Thank you. Hey Doc, I had a cat that went out of a 9th floor apartment window chasing a pigeon. The only thing that saved his life was that he wouldn't retract his claws from the screen and that he then kind of glided onto a juniper bush. I went flying down the stairs with a blanket, and yelling at my husband to get the car. When I got to the ground floor and outside, I was able to wrap him up very tightly in the towel I had brought down. By then my husband had the car around and off to the vet we went. All he had wrong with him was a broken radius that required a cast, and I told the vet, hey, while you have him under.. NEUTER!! LOL No internal injuries at all. And I think it was because of the screen and where he landed. 3 days later a common brown bat got into our apartment. He cornered it in the bathroom and beat it with his cast. Needless to say, the bat didn't make it. I had to return to the vet and get a cast change because of this. The 2 cats I have now would be exactly like Neo. To a point, because 1 is the one who decided he wanted to try flying. I *socialized* them both when they were kittens and well into adulthood. LOL Have a great week and Stay Safe!! From a new friend? Jenn in Ontario, Canada.
@@AnimalCrackerDrDougWillen There's no reliable formula like there is for dogs. The scientists estimate that the first 2 yrs of a cat's life are roughly equal to the first 25 of a humans. After this, each additional year is another 4 yrs. So Neo is a very old man. Can you say, YODA? I knew you could!!! 💖 💖 💖
@@tessw9744 Well, the other cat wasn't much help!! He was hiding under the bed!! So I knew who my "hunter" in the family was!!! LOL And I must say Prince was good. Love how he comes when she calls his name and in the bathroom. 😊 So many people think cats don't recognize their names. I have 16 and they all know their names .
Such a trusting, overly-willing cat!! Confident but comfortable. Amazing! Great student for Dr. to get some time with for learning/demo. Obviously he’s been so well cared for, healthy-looking and not obese.
I love the joy on your face when Neo lands THE JUMP! Just found you, finding this so extremely interesting! Thanks for what you do and keep up the good work!
And I thought my cat Duncan is sweet and patient at the vet's. Neo KNOWS somehow that he is with someone who will help him...? Who knows -- but I'm glad for his sake that he let himself be helped. Way to Go, Doc!
I have never heard of chiropractic adjustments aiding in recovery of the senses but it makes sense, especially after hearing the way you explained it. It's all connected! Now I'm starting to wonder if my loss of taste and smell went away when I started doing hard labor a couple years back because now that I think about it the loss of the senses and my back pain started around the same time.
Grazie... ❤🧡💛💚💙

Some cats are just real mellow at the vet's. My avatar, Louie, is a 15 year old male and everyone who's worked with him (vets, groomers, sitters) has remarked about how cooperative he is. It's probably part of how lovable he is around people. But around other cats? Well, that's a different story altogether.

@@HexenkoeniginVonAngmar Year calculations changes by the years of the cat lives. There is a online chart out there. 7 years was the old way of calculate cat years.
yes, what an awesome kitty!! also, i love the owner for taking such good care of him, and thinking to take him to a chiro! very cool.
Utterly ASTOUNDING! Long ago, I read the “Walrus on My Table” and thought animal chiropractic care would be sooooo important and helpful and you proved my point.
The ear to ear smile when Neo jumped was everything!!! I love it 😻 Also loving humom’s Stonewall shirt, sharing their pride 🎉
He is absolutely adorable. Who could ask for a better patient?🐱
Thanks Pamela, that is a great tip! I will keep it foremost in my mind!
Pamela, I literally thought I was the only one who did this 😂
I do it to my rodents and any animal I meet.
We bond while I massage 🥰
I do range of motion exercises and massage for my dogs too! And like yours, my vet LOVES that I do it. Rarely have I ever had to bring my kids in for any type of injury because of these daily rituals.
Such great ideas!
Love the transparency, honesty and humility with this doctor.
ABSOLUTELY 📍Spot on📍
Am a huge admirer of this rare, Genuine human who goes by the name of Dr Doug Willen.
If you haven't already, do watch his incredible healing on Nugget, the 5 week abused lil pup, now growing up into a healthy doggo.
May every Blessing rain down upon this amazing Doc and on you too
What an awesome, amazingly calm patient!
Cool cat
This little man is just precious! Does he know he’s a cat? We have had many cats over the years and I have been made bloody so many times, just by taking them to the vet. I’ve had cat scratch fever twice. And they were very sweet little ones too. Neo is unique and gorgeous. Thanks for getting his kinks out.
What a chilled boy. He knew what felt better rather than worse.
All my respect to that cat. He sensed "good intentions" and submitted to your will for him.
This woman has very well behaved cat's..Neo is a beautiful senior..
100% agree. I didnt expect Neo to hold still!
Neo has trained his staff (human) very well.
She must feed him properly with real carnivore food. Melissa could tell us how.
Two many cats get obese or Diabetes because industrial food have too much carb for these pretty carnivores.
Sweet Neo. Thanks for helping him, Dr. Willen.
"Neo! Hey!"
"...Mrow?"
Lol that responding to sound video was so cute!
😊 yes, that was lovely - Owner, "Nèo" Cat, "Yes Mum?" Such a chilled little fella.
He was so beautifully behaved for you both. What a darling boy.
I was mesmerized the whole time. Neo is so handsome and wonderful to let you treat him. He clearly has had a loving and safe home. Thanks for explaining everything.
You’re welcome elise
Neo video was 2 years ago I just saw it on UA-cam 11/22/22 and I wouldn’t be surprised if he is still living and chasing mice and lizards thanks to you,,, I hope you being on social media attracts more chiropractic in animals ! Thank you for your superb work you are loved and appreciated by many including me and I have no doubt I’ll meet you in heaven one day 💕
That is the best cat. What a sweetheart.
Aww I remember Neo!! I watched again because your work on him was amazing and he improved so much with your help Doc! I think Neo was so patient because he knew he needed help and he knew you were there to give it. Animals can sense that kind of stuff. Great job Doc!
Wow, thanks Megan. I was trying to bring the last of my animal videos over the new channel. I think Neo was the last one.
@@AnimalCrackerDrDougWillen I wonder if the fact that Millisa was also your patient, and Neo would have recognised your smell gave him the confidence to put himself in your hands?
I am a retired chiropractor. I have a cat, but I have never adjusted him. He is healthy and active. I do understand everything you were explaining. So, at least I will palpate my cat to see if there are any areas of tension or 'off' segments. I have an activator that I can use with him, if needed. Thank you. I love watching you adjust other animals. As with people, it is a joy to see such quick responses to the adjustments. Chiropractic is miraculous. God Bless you.
Thanks Doc! I appreciate it! Well done with your cat!
Neo sees you a second time and was like , ‘yay!’ This human made me feels so good. He was clearly even more relaxed the second visit. Not that he wasn’t super cooperative the first one, he really is remarkable.
He definitely was a remarkable cat! Thanks Lisa.
Dr. Doug- you are one of my favorite humans and healers. Your sensitivity and respect for your patients is moving and it’s a joy to watch you in your compassionate artistry. Much love!
Awww thank you so much Jennifer for sending your compassion and love, so grateful for your support.
Dr. Doug
I found this series of treatments with stages of improvement very interesting. The before and after views were quite profound. Great job.
Thanks Catherine! Glad you could see this video!!!
What a lovely, patient kitty!! I hope he got back to his normal active self. 💜
Yes, thanks!
Wow, that is some story! Thanks for sharing Jenn! I guess your cat has 9 lives! Your friend, Dr. Doug!! Brooklyn!
@@AnimalCrackerDrDougWillen Prince certainly did for sure!! LOL
@@jenniferlehman2464
Just picturing the cat beating a bat with his casts. I'm laughing so hard.😂😂😂😂
@@tessw9744 Well, the other cat wasn't much help!! He was hiding under the bed!! So I knew who my "hunter" in the family was!!! LOL And I must say Prince was good. He cornered the bat in the bathroom, so I didn't have much carpet to clean after. Just a HUGE mess that grossed out my husband in the bathroom!!! LOL Have a great and Safe Weekend!! 💖 💖 P. S. Only 1 cast!! Left front leg!!
Pardon the pun, but animals are a good judge of horse flesh and know who's there to help them. Neo was so afraid the first time (look at those pupils, poor baby!), but desperate for help and willing to trust. He was much more relaxed the second time. Good on you, Doc, you are a saint!
Great job ❤ !!! Great for Neo to meet you, released him from pain and gave him his jump back! I am so happy for him. ( have 3 cats)
Love how he comes when she calls his name and in the bathroom. 😊
So many people think cats don't recognize their names.
Neo is more chill than my two cats at a vet visit! Must be you have the "touch". Neo clearly felt much better after his treatments. Great job!
That’s great you have 2 cats! Thanks for sharing Jana.
And I thought my cat Duncan is sweet and patient at the vet's. Neo KNOWS somehow that he is with someone who will help him...? Who knows -- but I'm glad for his sake that he let himself be helped. Way to Go, Doc!
Neo is such a good lil patient and you could tell he knew Dr. Willen was helping him.
That is such a smart cat. All his cues, say he knows you are helping him
And your approach is perfect for the way cats interact.
Thanks Pam, I appreciate it
He is such a sweet cat. He is a very old man and your adjustments Dr. Willen's really helped him. Another Great Job done. Thank You!
Thank you for watching!
What a good kitty! Perfect 1st cat patient. Very much enjoyed viewing this video.
Grazie... ❤🧡💛💚💙
From what I see from your videos he has certainly improved. At 29:08 he can jump from the floor to the counter and he is 16 years old. From where I sit, after your adjustments, Neo is looooooooking good. Great results...you get another Gold Star.
Thanks Josette, I was very excited to help Neo!
My dad graduated from Palmer and was the first DC in our area and very well respected. Miss him every day but found another who has kept me walking with both hips that need replaced
Thanks again Nora, I appreciate your stories.
Neo is a great little patient.
Such a dramatic change in Neo! That is So awesome! I'm so glad that he accepted treatment and reacted so well. Thank you, Dr. for treating beloved pets!
=^..^= PURRR-fect* KITTY APPROVED!!
Absolutely awesome you are amazing. You were willing to take your human practice to the next level learn & to treat our 🐾pets. ❤🐈⬛. I wish your practice was in CA. Keep up the great work. 👍
All this background info you offer about the practice and the depth that you walk viewers through your checkups is really great to listen to!
The first thing i thought when you approached to pet him on the second visit was Neo thinking, "Oooh, I remember this guy, i like this guy, he helped be last time!"❤
Awesome cat and amazing improvement
Thank you!
Bless your heart sweetie ♥️ You can see in your face the joy you feel by helping animals feel better.
Awww thank Kyle☺️🙏🏻
Such a cutie! Way less wriggly than a certain Nugget 😆 I've adjusted cats' tails, and it can help other parts of their bodies. Also useful for my snek, who is almost 23 years old!
Yes, Neo holds still! Thanks BC!
Brilliant result. He was so cooperative but you were kind and more importantly, very helpful. From Somerset UK😊
👍🏼😊🙏🏻
Keep the videos coming. I love them. Your obvious love of animals is evident in every video. Great service for our beloved, furry friends. Thank you.
Thank you, I will!
Hi Dr Cracker, i just discovered yourUA-cam Chanel tonight. I am very impressed with your competency, your gentleness to both the animals and their « parents », your sens of lightness and your entire demeanour. I am à cat personne grieving for m’y lost and it helps me to see people like you who cares sincerely about the well-being of animals, even the older ones. Your sincere care for their quality of life and giving them part of their youth is so beautiful. Thanks for all you do. Linda😊
This cat is so damn patient, I can't stop laughing. My two were already known as the calm ones with the doctor, but this guy tops it all. :)
I just can agree with you!
Fantastic!!! Both my cats are 19 & 20yrs and I rub them between their shoulder blades like you showed once before. They both drool !
Good luck Neo. Dr Doug …you are a miracle worker and healer!!! Wish I lived closer ..lived in NY back in the ‘60’s …..In Canada now and enjoying our summer
